My entry for Baal's contest. A mixed media sort of thing...
a red lead pencil really helped me out. So did Shiori's encouragement.
x_x I almost just tossed it away.

I might mention as well that this is small. Too small. *sigh* My professors would not be happy with me.
Maybe about 6 inches across? I need to learn to work on a bigger area, definitely.

It was inspired by this writing from Baal's journal.

AHA so it is red pencil, I was puzzling over if it was red ink and nib-pen. It was a nice surprise to see so much traditional art in the contest entries. You did a great job with this and I'm glad you placed so well in the contest.

Now I'm remembering all those times my professors told me "Good but draw BIG, use the whole page, blablabla!" XD

xD Tera, yesss. The whole page and all that! Blah, it doesn't help that the paper I was pretty small to begin with. My teachers are gonna beat me when I get back in school for my canvas choices...

Yes, it totally was a surprise to see traditional art around. ;'D I was expecting a lot more digital, and a lot more...hm, I dunno, cut and dry pieces. But everyone really worked on their's, made it unique. \o/ And...thank you. |'D

You know, his expression in this was the biggest clincher for me. He looks so anguished to me...I dunno. I love this. I truly do.

And you make me wish I didn't suck at traditional media. xD

Haha, I always found it hard

Haha, I always found it hard to draw big. I prefer doing small, yet in art classes, they always said to use the whole page. Painful, haha.

It's really nice to see traditional work from you. This looks absolutely fantastic; their expressions really work for this. It's like Ghost is trying to seek salvation from Baal, and perhaps Baal is trying to stop himself, and yet his antlers are so close to her - too close. Too late.

This is amazing, the poses and muscles and ahh! Intense colors! You seem to be so awesome at both digital and traditional media, forever envious of your skill!
