The older stag looked at the younger one with curiosity, and a pleased smile appeared on his face as Johan didn't show any intentions to claim the herd and merely showed interest in seeing Verve.
"Welcome, Johan. You are welcome to stay as long as you don't cause any trouble and look after the ladies with me." he said with a teasing tone, not really minding the young one's presence.

The young buck cuddled closely against his brother, all the while keeping an eye on Verve should his older sister decide to move elsewhere. Johan glanced up at the older stag, his ears falling back submissively. "N-no, sir, no trouble here. And yeah.. I can help." With all of the aggression that was being thrown around lately, Johan was mindful of how he acted. He didn't know why, but all the males seemed to be almost war-seeking as of late.

The timidness of the young buck made Zach smile softly. Poor lad. Zach remembered all too well his first rut and the confusion it had brought him. He relaxed. It was clear that this young one would be of no danger to him. But maybe he could help the other relax in turn?
"This is your first rut, is it not?" He asked casually while listening on his surroundings for any competing stags.
"How are you finding it so far?" he added after a moment of thought. The lad was clearly nervous, anyone could see that miles away. It was fortunate that Johan came over to Verve and him, for he was probably among the calmest of rutting stags around at the moment. He wouldn't chase anyone away needlessly. These kids were safe from him.
