Warning for people wanting to email M&A about account name changes.

Dag here.

I got this account which was given to me a long time ago changed to the name Kyte (formally Jjinn), and all the blogs for my little Kyte character are gone. Also, my account details have been reset; so you lose the age of your account, etc.

I presume it is an automatic thing when something is changed on the system.

So, if you do email them, ask for your blogs and everything else to remain intact if you don't want to lose everything.

Just a heads up (:

Good to know! Maybe they can't really change the account's name in the system but instead have to delete the old account and create a new one.

I'm a little confused though. Did you you made the blogs before you changed the account name or did you rename, made the blogs and now they're gone? As far as I remember the blogs already were posted under Kyte?

The blogs that you saw before

The blogs that you saw before were all posted under the account name Jjinn. Kite was the display name that I changed it to a long time after they were posted. When Michael changed it to Kyte (I chose to have the 'y' because there is already a Kite pictogram taken), the account reset, and logging in with the new account name was like logging in for the first time. Blogs gone, clear tracking, blank account details.

The same can be said for my other account Uq. It was a year old, and had no blogs. I got the account name changed to Uuo at the same time as Kyte, and the account was completely reset.

I have yet to see if this has meant that both pictograms are now fawns again, but I'll post here once I test it. It could be that just the community account is reset, not your avatar.

As a side note - you can also email asking to know the date of registration if you've lost/deleted any registration emails. I had deleted Iaurdagnire's the week I registered, and I now know his birthday thanks to Michael (:

I would like to simply add on

I would like to simply add on to this blog for other people to see since Ive already had my account name changed many times:

`Your deer dosent get changed back to a fawn if it has already grown up.
Basically it dosent "disturb" or change the process in which your fawn/stag has been here for.
`The time you've been here is erased and "resets".
`The previous account name still exists If you have a blog posted.
(Im not sure if it still uses the same pictograph or if its even useable, but if you ever created a blog with the previous account name, it still stayed there for me by the old username.)
Ill add on to this if I see anything that hasn't already been stated here.

Does this effect track lists

Does this effect track lists too?

Okay, and what happens to the old posts in the blogs? Do they get deleted?

(had to go eat) No, they stay

(had to go eat)
No, they stay with the old username you commented with.

Would the "old username"

Would the "old username" still be an active link? Say for example you click the username on the post and you'll go to their account, does this still work?

Thanks for answering my questions. <3

Youre welcome. ^^ Glad I can help.
If you clicked on their username from a comment or something they posted, it would link you to a window that looks like this:

Basically, the window would be completely white and ask you to "register".

(sorry for spamming with a picture, I think it would be best if I showed.)

I'd actually advise against

I'd actually advise against changing your account name if you are active on the community site.

We require that you use your game login for the community site because it makes sense and it keeps the spammers out. But that's where the connection between the game technology and the community site technology stop. The community site has its own database and runs on software called Drupal. This software is hard to configure and we only half-know how it works. So it's best not to mess with it too much.
