Tips on Ref Sheets?

Does anyone have tips on how to create a good ref sheet?

Here are some things off the

Here are some things off the top of my head:

-Pick a neutral color background, bright colors can wash out the color of your character making it hard for people to tell what the true appearance is. Example: Grey or white would be good, neon blue, not good.

-Pick a pose or series of poses that shows your character from different angles, especially if this is important to their design. Example: It will be easier to tell the shape of your deer's antlers if you show a view of their head from the front, as well as from the side.

-You can include larger images of parts of the body to better illustrate differences or important traits. Example: You can draw a close-up of your characters eye to show any important details more clearly.

-Feel free to include some personality traits or history for your character on the sheet as well, but be sure to keep a balance between text and visuals. Example: Loads of small hard to read text will likely be ignored.

<3 Thank you Tera.

One small question on background color, though, My deer is black and white. Would soft tones be good for her background? Like Pastels?

You're very welcome!
You might be safe with a soft pastel but I'm not sure if you want your background to be the only source of color (since color will always draw the eye). Experiment with some greys and pastels to see what works! Smiling

Yeah, the only actual color

Yeah, the only actual color on Mi is her mask/antler combination, which is golden, so I think I am going to try different shades of pink.

Pink and yellow certainly

Pink and yellow certainly look very good together, and they might help express her personality too. I say give it a shot.
