Aleit stood motionless, his deep marine eyes endlessly searching the Birch Forest. As he watched his ears flicked and swiveled slowly while his nose twitched contently. He was listening to the birds, and more importantly, looking for somewhere to lay his anchor for the rut.
The brisk ambiance of a seemingly forever lasting tranquility which has absorbed the surrounding lands. Hardly anyone with the right sense would deem this anything but decent. The grand beauty of a bright warmth illuminated even more so by the teasing show of flickers and silhouettes of not shadow, but light caused by the heavily looming trees. The edge of this small 'kingdom' was very much a paradise it it’s own right, even if there were others who didn’t always appreciate so.
To the distance, there was just fields and fields of green grass, blanketing the massive forest. A forest such as this one, was indeed one of a kind. Everything seemed so perfect, and the trees were especially nicely spread apart. Not one area seemed crowded or ungracious. The grass is green and soft and there is not one leaf or stick or anything on the ground ruining it.
With no real intention of hurrying in order to reach her destination, and without anyone accompanying her, the whitetail takes the opportunity to slowly make her way along the gentle, soft hills, enjoying such a rare moment of solace. On a typical day, she would be with a fawn, or a friendly deer perhaps. A a faint, and yet unmistakable smile graced her usually quizzical face.
There was a majestic creature, belonging to a kind the same as she. He stood aimlessly on the same hill she had reached.
Pelt as dark night, milky white markings of the dead patched on either sides of him.
Oh yes, it was he. He who came yesterday.
(SINCE YOU ARE SO BAD AT SETTINGS. I made one. c: I swear I will never write something so long...ever again. I'm dying already)
The large stag's eyes flicked toward his company, though his head never moved. From the corner of his eye, he made out the figure of a slender doe hidden away by the tall grasses. After a long moment, he turned his head towards her. He eyed at her from a distance, recalling her beauty from the night before when they had first met. "I didn't think you'd venture into this part of the forest." he called teasingly. "Most does I know prefer to stick to the area around the Ruins." He snickered and turned to face her, his gentle eyes holding onto her as he moved. He tucked his head once in greeting- a smile across his maw.
Tilting her head up towards the sky, the doe slowly closed her almond eye, as she felt the warm rays of sunshine that crawled through the canopy above, almost...illuminating her chocolate pelt. At the same time. She stayed quiet for a moment, enjoying the sensation of the light breeze, as it trails between her each hair that made her brilliant coat. In a peculiar way, the tranquility of her environment miraculously seemed to lift an enormous weight of her shoulders. Even if it were only for a brief moment, she relished it.
"What is wrong with this forest? It's more open, and I like that. Plus, you are here. That makes it all the more pleasant for me," The whitetail dipped her head in response, a small greeting. She still smiled.
Aleit felt his body shiver, though his dark fur was almost hot to the touch. His entire body language shifted the longer he stood there. It became more tense. More anxious. He swallowed as he tried to pull the words back from his throat and make them into sound. "Nothing is wrong with it." he replied at last, finally finding the words. "Why is it better that I'm here?" his head titled slightly as he slowly stepped toward her.
"It's better because I don't think we spent enough time together yesterday,"She muttered in reply, soon taking elegant, long strides to her friend. Thursday wondered what he would think of having a friend so small. The poor doe's head hardly reached just his shoulder alone. Inquisitively, she stared at the black stag, those almond eyes staying wide open as she examined him.
Aleit smiled and sniffed the top of her head politely. "Yesterday's meeting was rather short," he agreed, staring at her. He hadn't forgotten how much smaller she was compared to him, yet he thought nothing of it at the moment. "I'm almost always here." A cool breeze picked up, carrying the scents of the pond in the distance. "It's calm here, relaxing even."
"Ah, yes....In the hills and the birch. A big area for a big deer, ne?" She teased, bumping her small shoulder to one of his legs playfully. The whitetail couldn't comprehend it herself as to why she gave such a gesture. She'd not known him for even two days. But she felt comfortable. "One does always need their space. I hope you don't mind if I stick around?" Her question had a hopeful tone.
He nodded in response, chuckling softly as he did. He felt her nudge and looked down at where she had bumped him, then back to her. "Stay as long as you'd like." he answered, "Though I may have to ask for payment in that case." he teased.
With his approval, she trotted under him, her back brushing his shaggy stomach as she did so. Tucking her long limbs under her, she sat beside his legs, waiting for him to sit as well. "Payment...? Now what exactly are you getting at?"
Aleit waited for her to settle herself before he lied down beside her. He nosed at the ground briefly, then returned his gaze to her eyes. "I was just teasing you," he laughed, shifting his body for a more comfortable position.
"Hm. I could have given payment anyway. Poor, poor Aleit," Thursday teased the stag, chuckling softly to herself. It was quiet for once in the forest. Nothing else would speak but the frogs or the summer insects. She could tell it wouldn't be long now, when the nights would be absolutely, and eerily silent. Cold and lonely. Unconsciously, she snuggled to the larger deer's warm fur, shaking her head.
Aleit snickered and thrummed his tail on the ground. The cold hadn't bothered him at all, which surprised him when she snuggled closer. "Are you chilled?" he asked, concerned. He was tempted to snug closer to her, but held back.
Hey, I know you're offline now, but the small font for our rp is really difficult for me to read. Can the font be in it's default size? To me it does look prettier in a small size, but I have to squint to read it on here.
Edit: And thank you for making the blog open to others now! I kinda felt bad earlier.
Night~
The whitetail smiles, looking up at her friend. "No, just thinking of how chilly it would be in the coming winter. Or does it even get cold here? Does it snow?" She suspected it would, but this forest was anything but a normal one.
Deer with the faces of two-leggeds, Gods you could see that held special events... She wondered what else was there.
Aleit nodded, his ears laid back in content. "It does snow here," he replied, looking up at the sky thoughtfully, "But just as quickly as it comes, it leaves again." He snorted loudly, seeming to detest the idea of short winters.
"That's good I guess...Snow's pretty," She whispered, looking up with him. Giggling at his seemingly disappointed snort, she bumped her shoulder to his. "But I prefer the warmth,"
Aleit snickered softly, wrinkling his nose. "The thrill of adrenaline and power..." he replied, his smile still clearly visible. "This is the first time I've ever felt like this."
"I get excited, hyper. Even territorial," She pursed her lips, furrowing her brows when she lost herself in thought. "You don't mind if I'm territorial of you, do you?" The doe couldn't help herself but to be on edge when she'd see him with anyone lately, particularly if there was another doe around.
On a normal day, she'd run off screaming from a stag. Any stag. Not be possessive of one.
He gave her a curious look and his tail fell silent. "Territorial of me?" his grin faded a little, leaving only a crooked smile on his maw. "Of course not... under one condition though."
"Huh! A condition?" She repeated in a dramatic fashion, shoving his side with a hoof. "Like what?" The doe asked, swiveling her ears to the direction of the stag.
Thursday's face would be a vivid red if it were possible. She looked away, then back. Then several takes. "Excuse me?" She snorted in disbelief as well as amusement. She gave him a shove.
The doe smirked at him, looking away as she spoke. "You're going to have to work for it to have a proper one, Aleit," She mumbled, turning to face him as she quietly stretched her thin neck out to lick his maw once. "That's all you'll get for now,"
Aleit's big grin loosened into a smaller smile. "As odd as that sounded," he teased, "I'm glad you think so." He leaned closer to her and touched his nose to her cheek.
The doe opened her maw to yawn, parting it wide before she closed it with a soft squeal. She giggled at the stag's touch. She happily returned the gesture, brushing her snout against his own."You're so sweet, Aleit. Funny, for sure,"
Aleit turned his head towards her again, his ears flicked slightly with each forest sound. "Where you come from... did you have families?" His head cocked to the side.
"Nowhere special, just another forest, far from here," The doe replied, shaking her head sadly. Her old home certainly wasn't anything even remotely similar to this one. It wasn't as safe either.
"No family. Just a herd I was included in. What about you?"
