Thinking

I'm a big gamer. xbox, PS3, you name it I've played it. Especially over christmas.
So... I've figured out that my problem with this game (is it a game?) is that there's no rules and everyone is playing their own version. That's why people get uptight about shit. I got uptight about sitting on the crying idol once. Aux doesn't care about other people sitting there with him because I know the game is free country to do what you want and you can't like... write your name on anything. But other characters do and get pissed. Then theres all these skull characters who are all the same to me. Yeah I get it, it's cool, but even I find it annoying. I know I'm biased because Saosin's biography was the first skull deers one I saw so they all just remind me of him. I'd love Aux to wear a skull. It makes a cool noise. But I'd feel boring because everyone else uses it.

I'm also not interested in making friends much... Aux has like... 3/4. Before I played the game to muck about. Find places to sit, play with actions. Gets boring though right?

Making a biography was fun. But when it's done it's like... what's the point in this. My character is shown in game anyway? I dunno.

With ordinary game I like... you fight, have a health bar, win or lose, you know. Here I do like fighting in forest, but when it gets past 5 minutes you're like omg this button mashing is boring as hell because there's nothing else going on. No health bar, graphics and stuff.

I don't even know why I'm typing this. Bored of the same stuff? Bleh. I don't know how people can play this thing for over a year. What do you do?

... Anyone else got xbox kinect? It's fucking A <8

I've been playing for 3 years

I've been playing for 3 years and still love this game. I think it's not knowing what's going to happen when you jump in. I mean yeah I play my violent games on my PS2 and Xbox 360 but this game helps me relax and unwind. It really helped me stay sane when my dad and cousin died earlier this year.

This game appeals to some and not to others I suppose. Making friends is part of the fun, especially finding them in-game every so often.

It's what's in there, what

It's what's in there, what counts. The Twin Gods, the cool new fawns we get every year (More of a winter place, x3) But I love the forest and I have been here almost a year. It's amazing. Smiling

I really don't play tef

I really don't play tef anymore, and very rarely visits this community anymore. I understand what you mean, I've had kinda same thoughts. I've tried, I've really tried hard to fit with this game, yet it doesn't appeal to me anymore, all these characters are too much. You can't know anymore if it's okay to greet that random lonely deer and play or sit along with him, because he might be an aggressive character who wants to be alone, or just wants attention in some weird way. Chilling around with random deer is awkward, unless one haven't found that certain deer's bio and rplayed... ?

Still though, I will return to the game when I've got winXP on my mac... But I'll play it without characters. I play this game, I'm controlling my moving pixels, as everyone else is controlling their moving pixels. What tef means for me, is just inspiration and a virtual little paradise where you can run around as an animal, without any speech. This is really a screensaver after all. The best screensaver I've ever seen. ♥

I have always wondered what

I have always wondered what to think about skull deer, but I will always see Saosin as a unique character. It was only after he was created that rip-off's of Saosin also popped up every now and then... But I always see Saosin differently to them. Better. Others which are clearly just trying to be like him... not so much :/

I wish I knew what kept me here. It can get awfully boring here, I will try and be doing something in the forest, and if I am sleeping, usually I am afk or I keep myself occupied by drawing. I've been playing Perfect World a lot recently too, but that can also get a little boring after a while..

I really need to buy an Xbox 360 - Like I said, my brothers have one, but they don't live at home any more. Grrh. I would also be putting the Xbox in the living room where the big tv screen is, but everyone watches tv in there most of the time, and with a little sister, and her copying my every move, I wouldn't be able to play the gore games unless she's occupied doing other things. Lmao. Why did I throw away my old tv screen? /slaps self

I do understand that lots

I do understand that lots have their own reason for playing. It is relaxing which is why I like it. But maybe it was a mistake to make a character to get noticed? It is odd.

Starling I'm happy you understand where I'm coming from about the boringness lol. Never throw away an old tv! I have 4. lmao.

I guess distractions do help. If I get bored or get stuck on a game, or if I'm feeling lazy after work, I play this screensaver. Then get bored... go play xbox again... haha.

Lmao. I think the Nintendo

Lmao. I think the Nintendo Wii is pretty good too, and it's really funny when you play with the family. But the games can get really boring and not so funny when you play them over and over. I think I might buy an Xbox with my birthday money; only a couple more weeks. And I'll need to buy some family games with it so no one will get pissed when I do start playing the more gory games haha.

In my point of view, the Xbox and PS3 are just the same... except, the PS3 is more pricey. But I could be wrong. Do you buy games from any shops or do you buy them online? I am always looking for the cheapest price, and my mum is the total opposite. She enjoys wasting her money away LOL. Well, more like my dad's money. We all rely on him on him for everything, especially when I go on my shopping spree! (Going again tomorrow HAHA) /off topic

But yes... I mean, if you do go for the cheap prices, preferably online, please show me some. I find Amazon is a good place, sometimes. Teehee. However we usually go to GAME to buy all our stuff, and sometimes we get the second hand games as they are over half the price, AND once we get bored with them, we usually trade them in and get some money back. Sometimes around the same amount of money as what we bought it for, since it was pre-owned :>

We've been collecting game

We've been collecting game systems since the gameboy color.
We don't have a gamecube though, I think it's stupid...
We also just got a Kinect. It's really neat. (:

Anyway, lately I haven't been doing much here either.
Haven't been in-game much...
I literally go in-game for two seconds and then find myself logging out to play a different game (Perfect World) which has really grabbed my attention.
I'll never get rid of TEF though. I'll probably be 80 years old and still throw Ravyn in-game once in a while.

TEF is just a screen-saver

TEF is just a screen-saver for me. Something to idly play with when I have few minutes. I did make a page with my deer in it, just so people know them and me. But while it's fun, it's also too shallow for the need of in-depth characters. It's a simple, lighthearted game, and that's why I enjoy it when there's nothing else to do. Smiling

But maybe it's because I'm not a "gamer" and never felt the drive for quests and leveling up and all that jazz. Except Earth Eternal. omg I loved that game, and now it's gone. ;-;

I'm not sure what I'll do when the stories eventually end.

..Honestly, this isn't a shallow game. It's as deep as you make it. :/

I think it is the role play,

I think it is the role play, the interaction, the stories that can be built between the in game play and the biographies plus role play in the community. The lack of chat in the forest leaves you with new ways to explore in your communication skills as well as leaves you open for new interpretations. While I do love my fighting games I do enjoy how this game lacks health bars and the need to grind, grind, grind which takes up a lot of time and energy. In that way it makes the game more relaxing. I feel this game as a role player's paradise. A lot can happen in this simple screensaver. It is only as simple or as complicated as you make it. I love playing Gustiro because he is a more 'active' character. He can be a trouble maker but at the same time can easily start relationships with other characters and in that way makes the game itself more interesting and less stagnant.

Anyway, that is just my take on TEF. : )

I understand everyone

I understand everyone (:

Starling - I get games from HMV. Pre-owned xbox 360 games cost half the price of a new one so I buy those. As long as they work I dont care <: I also play, complete, then take them to GAME to see if I can get any good trade-ins. I've completed so many games but own hardly any but my favourites because I'm not too interested about keeping them.
Play.com is a good place to buy games online. Free shipping.

I like the PS3 because it's blueray. I get blueray dvds to play on it so it has two uses (:

Okay, I agree with you on the pre-owned games and I've been told Play.com is pretty good but never used it.
I'll have to check it out, thankyou (:
