Happy Birthday Quad!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

SAVE SOME CAKE. A LOT OF CAKE.

(mine was the 8th)

I've had a great birthday, now just relaxing for the rest of the day. Mom and I went to the mall for a little bit, and she gave me $40 to spend, so I got two books (a little book of quotes from Pema Chodron, and a book called Hagakure: The Book of the Samurai), some hand soap from Bath and Body Works, and a new Columbia Sportswear jacket.

We then went to Newk's Cafe and I had my favorite sandwich there - chicken, bell peppers, goat cheese, and pesto! And while we were there, they gave me my presents! Mom gave me some 'Celtic Sea Salt', which I love sea salt for my food, so it's something different to try, as well as a cast iron dish and $25 to Amazon.com. My brother gave me Flight: Volume 2 and the video game Borderlands. And when I got home, I opened my gift from my oldest brother and sister-in-law, and got a bottle of whiskey and a framed picture of a kudu!

Before we went home, we made two more stops - we went to a little bakery and got two cupcakes to be my cake for today, and then we stopped at the grocery store and she let me pick out what we'll have for dinner. I decided on fried shrimp (coconut shrimp and popcorn shrimp), tater tots, and peas.
