TEF is a community of creative minds...

...and as a writer myself, watching this got me thinking about my creative process in a different way. Often, I fall into depression and despair when my art, my words fight me. I think it's important that people who do art, no matter what it is, encourage one another during our most vulnerable, insecure moments.

If you have 20 minutes to spare, sit and watch this, or move about and just listen. Whatever works. It's interesting and may help you along the way.

I rather like her way of thinking. TED talks are always so fascinating to me, and we watch a lot of them at my school. So many brilliant minds and ideas in one place.

I thought so too. I mean, the talk isn't groundbreaking, "omg so great that I have to just turn my life around!!" - but I felt like she presented an interesting and quite useful idea on how to deal with the angst that seems to haunt every artist, every type of artist, in one way or another. I think if anything she presents a good foundation for getting other people to think about their creativity in a different way so that it is still powerful, but doesn't hurt us at the same time?

Anyway, I am thinking of what my genius might look, sound, feel like. Perhaps I will write it, create it, and try her system for a while.

Exactly! A positive self

Exactly! A positive self image really is all about perspective... and overcoming the challenges of viewing things in a different light. No matter what, it definitely can't hurt to try. ♥
