Hello! I recently downloaded this game to play it with a friend so i'm quite new, a moment ago we were having no issues playing the game as normal and running around before laying down to go afk. I clicked the minimize window button[i play windowed. 1920x1080 resolution], which crashed the game, and when I reopened it I was logged out, and the game constantly tries to reconnect, only to display an error. I tried turning off the "connect automatically" and doing it manually, didn't work. I tried restarting the game, didn't work. Turning my wifi on and off, also didnt work. I've sat around waiting a really, really long time, and nothing. The network status just says it's connecting, and then says error. The only solution i could dig up to my near exact problem on here was someone saying to make sure directplay is turned on, and I can confirm it is. I'm running windows 11 if that's any help. I'm kind of sad because I wanted to keep playing with my friend and I dunno what to do or if this is the right place to ask for help, but any help would be very appreciated.

Hey! I'm glad to see this community has an active forum. I've had my eye on this game ever since I was very young, never really getting the chance to play it properly. Once, when I was 14 on my crappy laptop yearsss ago, and now as an adult with a PC. Unfortunately both times having trying to download and play it, it made everything on my desktop huge and impossible to navigate, and just never closed or ruined it for a good amount of time unless I restart.

About 5 months ago I had made this account, fully expecting it to run smoothly. But despite changing the graphics settings, resolution, etc., I couldn't get it to run past 2 to 5 fps, if it wasn't entirely frozen not allowing me to close it that is. So I'd uninstalled it shortly after.

Is there a fix for this? I've always been excited to play but it's a bummer I kept running into these issues. I saw a video of somebody recently trying the game out who had to go through the settings and mess with it for a good 30 minutes or so just to get his to run smoothly. (which is good to know it's possible!)

Is it just because it's an old game, or would it have something to do with my PC? Sorry this is such a long winded post. The TLDR of it is;

The past few years I've been attempting to try TEF, but I've run into performance issues and desktop layout issues each time. Not sure if there are any fixes or if it's normal...

hi! sorry, i'm new. i'm trying to login, i've registered and all that, but i'm a little lost on the ingame side. i've gone to network and have clicked on connect, but it doesn't do anything for me. i'm running this on linux mint with wine, and i've done all the DLL install and setup stuff as per the faq. is the connect button supposed to open a browser window?
