Nobody ever does fanart/giftart for Michael or Auriea. D: This helps out with half of that problem, and I hope to doodle an Aurieadeer soon too.


Doodled to reacquaint myself with Painter Classic, mostly because Two Ears' beautiful stuff really made me want to doodle something classier than my normal Jelly-with-eyepatch. Really quick and really crappy BUT who cares right? Laughing out loud

Lightning Pelt

I posted this in the forum under the giant concept art thread, but I'll go ahead and post it here. I made the lightning light yellow so that it would stand out. This is just the basic pelt. I was thinking the antler set that would go with this could look like skinny lightning tendrils, like this.

I wish I had thought to put the light blue next to the yellow before blackening the contours. The bolts are supposed to be yellow outlined in light blue.

Inspired by a doe thread in the Forest Design Issues and Ideas forum. I don't draw a whole lot anymore but after reading into the thread a bit I felt like trying out a more feminine sort of deer. Even though the author supports them as being playable, the point of that thread was what they might look like! Smiling

The Great Dream Stag

I have been reading Neil Gaiman's The Sandman lately, and I love it. I was struck with some inspiration to draw the main character, Morpheus, as the sleeping deer in our forest may see him. This is a rather rough sketch, but it's one of those things that feel as if they just need to come out before one goes crazy. Eye

Morpheus (as he is in the comic) is seen and described as thin, dressed in Midnight, and with eyes like shining stars. The eyes are different colors at different times.

I imagined him to be more spindly, though. I'm just getting back into drawing pleasure drawing after years of doing nothing other than what I did for an elective last semester, so I'm still having trouble getting back into it. I based this form on how Morpheus appeared in "The Dream of a Thousand Cats."

Maybe another Sandman fan will be inspired to make something awesome after seeing this. Eye
