This thread will become image heavy. Any kind of character is welcome. (I plan to draw scenes.)
If you want a private thread, let me know. I made this to socialize with anybody looking for RP.

Laying low in the tall grass and lavender, a pair of blue-green eyes peered up at a fleet of butterflies overhead. Their bright blue wings flashed under the sunlight and entranced the young
doe.
Her mask lay beside her, too warm from the sunlight to wear. Another twig had fallen off of one of the branches attached to the mask. Not really sure how trees worked, she buried it neatly in a spot close by. Tan hoped it would eventually sprout into a new tree. Like overnight. The way she did.
Stretching, she rolled over another wall of grass and one of her large hooves knocked against a root jutting from the ground.
"Aah!" she squeaked. Startled by her own loud presence, she jumped from her spot on the ground and dashed away from the area as fast as she could,
colliding with the closest deer or thing wandering by.
(Tracking, might toss in Atiq
Early afternoon light
By now, Atiq thought he would have learned that the Forest was too whimsical and prone to the unexpected to allow himself to roam unaware, but he was never one to heed his own advice, and he was quite abruptly reminded why he should start.
Atiq felt rather than saw the newcomer in his path, as the smaller white-gold blur collided right into his side, effectively knocking the wind out of the stag as he stumbled sideways.
Caught off-guard, and maybe a little disorientated, but still alert enough to realize another had fallen with him he managed to sputter, "Ohhh stars above, are you alright? What's happened?Wha...?" He quickly glanced around to see where the other deer had landed.
(Oooo, I'd love to throw
Tan bounced off of Atiq and
With a wheeze, she quickly rolled onto her feet and shook her head wildly. The great puffs of hair that bloomed out of her braids scattered dirt and dust over her face like powder. Beyond the fresh dirt she just adorned herself with, Tan's fur was matted down with obvious unwash and she had spots on her hind legs that could not be distinguished between blood or mud.
Blinking a few times, she regained her vision and shot Atiq an accusatory look before remembering that she had been the one to leap without looking.
"Are YOU alright?" Tan sputtered out, sounding frustrated. She was still frightened and kept turning her head around to look for the source of her humiliation. Her eyes were already welling up with tears.
Atiq's momentary confusion
"Aye, I'm fine, it'd take more than a small tumble to harm me," he flashed what he hoped was a warm smile but faltered when he noticed her furtive looks and saw the beginnings of tears in her eyes. Atiq was if nothing else, a big softy with a heart that was sometimes bigger and more quick to action than his head, even if he was slightly awkward with others. He didn't rise to his feet so as not to tower over the still prone doe, trying to reach out with a gentle tone, "Hey, it's alright, no harm done," he watched as she continued to glance around her and directed his eyes and ears to the Forest, trying to detect whatever she seemed to be looking for, discreetly sensing for any danger.
"You weren't running from something, were you?"
"Yeeah, I think so...." she
The forest was calm but for a few birds swooping in and out of the grass. While it was true that Tan had been actively running from something, she had her doubts that it was in that lavender bush.
A few leaves fell from the high canopy, pulling her attention away from the flowers.
"Maybe not?" Tan tilted her head at Atiq. Realizing again that she had run into him, she gave a small half bow with her head still tilted. She had only recently learned bowing etiquette but didn't really understand the gesture.
"Glad you're ok!" Tan said.
The doe had completely forgotten her mask in the tall grass. The birds continued to pick and scratch at it, trying to make the demon leave. The dead wood mask was defenseless but for the weak spores it leaked as a warning.
Atiq couldn't help the
Atiq easily got to his feet and returned the gestures with a low, sweeping bow of his own, his smile only growing bigger.
"I'm glad you're ok too...um? I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name? Mine is Atiq," he said encouragingly.
(I wanted to draw the next
Tan's face darkened a little bit with a blush. She opened her mouth to say something but only squeaked.
It's Tanpopo. No it isn't. What did her mother call her? Tan shook her head. "T-Tan. It's Tan. I think."
Her search seemed complicated to herself and she didn't want to scare away another friend. Would it even change her to find her real name?
She nodded, having decided it's fine this way.
With one more glance over her shoulder, she shook her fears and inspected Atiq's markings instead. She went quiet as her eyes wandered over his pelt, entranced by this shade she's never seen. Her head seemed to always be tilted.
(no worries, take your
Atiq watched Tan seem to struggle with herself for a moment, his brow briefly furrowing in concern at the way her voice wavered as she said her name. She seemed content with her answer after a moment however, and he left it at that.
He noticed Tan's perpetual head tilt become even more pronounced (something he was finding adorably endearing about this new face) as she studied the golden markings against his night-dark fur.
Another low, warm laugh softly rumbled in his throat, "I'm flattered, Tan, no one's ever found my pelt so intriguing before," Atiq said with a smirk, holding a still as possible as Tan's gaze curiously inspected him. In truth, he didn't mind, normally Atiq felt awkward under the scrutiny of others, but he could sense this doe's purely inquisitive nature and was loathe to interrupt it.
"Sorry for staring!" she said
She took a few steady steps back and hopped in place playfully. "Do you want to race, Atiq?" Tan asked. Her instruments were stuffed into a tree not far from here. She didn't want to risk losing them in the tall flower field. "I have a surprise for you at Big Tree!"
(whenever I can afford to get a chord for this wacom.... >.<
until then I'm getting my feet wet in programming too. Let's say, IF there was an App for The Endless Forest, what do you think could be included?
So far, I've got plans to try making:
1. IMing , should be basic
2. Deer Pelt/Antler/Mask "dress up game" so people can swap parts to see how it looks?? //shrug
3. in-forest weather change notices? abiogenesis notices? *
4. in-game map- I have been told these last two require permissions to use certain code*
5. what if you could @someone and it would alert their phones? eh? so peeps dont miss their RPs. lol
6. ideas?
do you think I should make this it's own post? xD))
Atiq seemed genuinely taken
Atiq's warm grin turned slightly mischievous as he accepted Tan's invitation, "Ohhhoho my dear Tan, I would love to race." Atiq rocked back on his hooves and could already feel his muscles prepare to spring as he pointed himself towards the Oak..
(depending on which wacom you have you can get a replacement cord for about ~$5, instead of the like, $15-$20 wacom charges, just gotta look at the ends of the cable to see which one it is, it's annoying as all get out though lol I had one of the first generation of Intuos' and they had a defect where the cord was built in and would fall out of the tablet, that was fun |D
oh man, you have no idea how awesome a mobile friendly app for the forest would be, I'm frequently on the move and it's insane trying to navigate this site on a phone lol
and you happened to bump into a game artist so that idea already has the hype going for me, if not a community app a little platform or puzzle game based on the Forest would be neat too~ I'd say go for it and make a post, I think it's a great idea!)
Tan's face really lit up when
A light breeze that had been dancing around the flower field halted and the warm sunlight seemed to heat up the air around them.
Tan parked herself next to Atiq and took a deep breath.
"Okaay~" She sang, teasingly. "But i"m gonna wiiinnn~"
Instead of sprinting forward, she skipped once and the slow jump into the air was picked up by a sudden gust of wind and she floated about five feet forward before touching the ground; another light spring in her hooves ready to toss her into the breeze again.
Being light as air was fun... sometimes.
(I might just have to be brave and post my hard sketches instead of pretty them up in PS. I have little faith in my art so don't be surprised if it disappears as it appears.lol...
I mentioned programming to my gaming group and recruited two others, so I'm not alone on my project. If we get something even remotely functioning, then I'll make a post about it. Don't want to get everyone's hopes up for nothing. I might be terribad at this. Having an app would be amazing though.))
Another low chuckle rumbled
He briefly cut off as he saw Tan actually float on the wind that blew past the trees and actually breeze by him. Atiq allowed himself a small moment curiosity and quirked a brow at the feat before his grin returned in full force.
"Maybe so, but I'll make sure it's close."
Suddenly, the muscles that had been wound tight in anticipation sprung into action as Atiq surged forward, flinging a few stray bits of dirt and grass in his wake. His long strides devoured the ground beneath him as he quickly started to keep pace with the doe. One thing he was sure of, was his ability to run, and he was always itching to do so as fast as he could go. He laughed freely, lost in the thrill of running, caught up in the breeze.
(go for it! <3)
((i wanted to wait until
((i wanted to wait until these were done but I have no idea when that will be. :< ))
Tan held her breath, daintily floating forward with every hop. Her clumsy landings were proof this was still a new trick for her, but the breeze made her feel free after years of being trapped and kept her from losing herself.
She could her Atiq's rhythmic gallop as he caught up with her and made his way ahead of her.
The doe gasped, losing her breath and giggled as his passing had given her another burst of air and she drifted a little too high. Her scrawny legs kicked furiously as she tried to land again and regain control of her skipping.
The Oak tree was howling loudly, cheering them on like an audience. It could be heard before it was seen over the lakeside hill.
(oh goodness look at
Tan and Atiq frolicked before the vast shadow of the Oak, dwarfing them in the already giant wood. Their laughter and hoof-beats echoed through the trees, disrupting the sunlit quiet, other Forest-dwellers occasionally glancing their way to watch the race.
Atiq checked his pace back a step when he noticed Tan float a little higher than she meant to as he passed by her, even giving her a gentle tug by deftly nudging her back down with one of his antlers. Now however, he had found a new rule to their game, knowing he could influence Tan's flight a little. This time as he passed by, Atiq blew a small puff of air at Tan gently turning her course to the side. He laughed good-naturedly at her cry of protest and circled around to herd her back.
The Oak came up fast as they crested the small hill along the lake, the duo rushing to its roots side-by-side. Atiq came to a halt right before the entrance, waiting for Tan to find her footing once more. He took this moment to listen to the sound emanating from deep within the ancient tree, its sound familiar and mysterious all at once.
"We've reached the Oak, little dandelion, that was quite the race," he turned to smile at Tan once more, "Now what was it you wanted to show me?"
((I'm really sorry I've been
(D8!!! oh nooo I'm so sorry,
I'm glad you're somewhere where you can get help though~ Take as long as you need, everything'll still be right where you left it for whenever you're ready. Hope you feel better soon ~<3)
