Spelldata by email + Spell Saver? Question answered!

Q: When I asked you if your Spell Saver program would work with spelldata received by email, you said it would if you did the right things.

Well, I followed your instructions, but whenever i type in the name of the set, the MAJOR FAIL popup comes and doesnt let me activate it.

I'm wondering if I'm doing the right things. I take the folder with the spelldata in it and put it in the spelldata folder... it still wont let me use it.

I tried creating a new folder and put the spelldata in there, but that didn't work either.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'm not exactly sure what to do...

A: It seems that it will only work if there's no caps in the file name. So instead of SpellData.cgr it wants spelldata.cgr If you change the caps to lowercase, it should work now for you.

-raises hand- I might be

-raises hand- I might be able to help, I had the same kind of problem. The program doesn't seem to recognize the data unless it saves it itself, so all you have to do is apply the set to your deer the way you did it before the spell-saver program, then open the program and click the "Save Spelldata" button. The program should recognize it after that Smiling

Hope that actually works for you >>

Ahh, you're right, and you've discovered a bug! Shocked

It seems that it will only work if there's no caps in the file name. So instead of SpellData.cgr it wants spelldata.cgr If you change the caps to lowercase, it should work now for you. Smiling

I'll have to fix that in the next version.

I'm glad you found this out actually, thanks a bundle! Eye

PS. Would you mind bumping this anyway please, so those with the same problem, will know what to do, thanks.

I'm 100% certain that

I'm 100% certain that changing the caps to lowercase will not affect the actual file. Smiling

What you have heard, is about renaming the file to something different.
