I feel that this information is up for speculation.
How do we know "she" is is female? All of that luxurious fur makes it hard to discern any tell-tale parts that would put either theory at ease.
And because of the speculative nature, I'd much rather refer to "her" as the androgynous "he" that both Western cultures, such as the one that I live in, use.

Okay I'm just procrastinating here. I'll change that right away xD

Yay, this deer very nice!
And his character is such a friendly :3

Glisseo hadn't seen her

Glisseo hadn't seen her "friend" in a few days now, not since that awkward night when they seemed to cross some un-drawn line. So, naturally, she decided to seek him out and possibly make things ever more awkward. She tilted her head up and finally caught his scent on the wind. She wandered toward the playground, where those blueberries that he liked so much seemed to grow in abundance. She snatched some up on her way through and turned her head. His scent was strong here, so he had to be nearby. "Enthbril?" She called, her voice echoing over the rocks just slightly. She wondered if he had been thinking about her as often as she had him. Maybe she was just over-reacting. Why would the nice, funny stag like her? Boring and mean old Glisseo?

Out a little bit towards the birches where the Forest was redder and less trampled flat by eager hooves was the orange buck. Only recently had his antlers began to itch with the velvet that had begun to dry and he was remedying this by rubbing them eagerly against a young birch that accommodated the width of his antlers easily and provided room to spare. Thin strips of it tore from his antlers and left them bloodied, but it felt so divine!
The itching subsided a little and his muscles were screaming at him for a break. Naturally, he took the time to stop and let out a long sigh. A shiver rippled through him. What was he going to do about Glisseo? Willis told him to try dropping hints, but he also said he wasn't sure if that would work at all.. Why did these things have to be so confusing? Enthbril launched an angry kick at the birch he'd rubbed on, sighed again, and began moving in a random direction. His head was low to the ground until he caught a very familiar scent: it was her. Yet another sigh came out of the young buck to release some of his nervous energy before he trotted in the direction of her smell while the faint sound of her voice teased against his ear.

Glisseo trotted around the

Glisseo trotted around the playground a bit, hopping over the odd rock here and there. She turned her head and there was Enthbril, looking a little worse for wear. But, at least it was his turn to look bad. She'd had enough of that feeling with her leg before. Which was starting to grow fuzz now and more-or-less perfectly healed! She had been elated to wake up and find fresh pink skin where a wound had been the night before. She approached the young buck just as a piece of velvet dangled free and dropped to the ground. She had to resist the urge to grimace. She'd seen these things on Animal Planet, but it was much different in person and she'd always been a bit squeamish. "Hey stranger! Where have you been hiding lately?" Her mouth felt a little dry now that she was closer to him. Was it nervousness? She hadn't been nervous before...

It took his body a good while

It took his body a good while to remember how to work itself in order for him to speak. Hey. His heart did a couple of back flips when he looked her in the eyes, but he forced himself not to back down no matter what. I've been out in the birches, just-- he didn't want to tell her he was thinking because then she'd ask him what he was thinking about and there was no way he was going to tell her that he was thinking about her --thinking.

Dang it.

His nose twitched involuntarily and he realized that she smelled less metallic. A quick pass with his eyes told him that she was almost entirely healed from her numerous injuries. This pleased him, no doubt, but he had not the foggiest idea how he was supposed to work that into what they were talking about without it being obvious that he was trying to not discuss himself. So, he smiled at her instead.

She smiled at his delay in

She smiled at his delay in conversation. Well, at least he hadn't changed. "Thinking?" She repeated, a bit perplexed as to why he was being so vague. "About what?" Glisseo asked, though she knew it was probably the exact opposite of what Enthbril really wanted. Sometimes she just had to be nosy. Her heart skipped at the thought that he might be thinking of her. Her throat clenched and she swallowed a wad of emotion. Did she want him to be thinking about her? There was a difference between a crush and a relationship. She shook her head, smiled, and waited.

Enth couldn't keep himself

Enth couldn't keep himself from flinching when she asked him, even though he knew in full that she was going to ask it. He tore his gaze from her and brooded off to the side for a moment. Glisseo would be able to tell if he lied to her and said something else, so what could he even say without just telling her?
When he looked back up at her, his eyes were heavy and sparkling with the unspoken emotions that filled every empty part of his body. All he could do then was shake his head at her and look away. Let's not talk about that.. my head hurts. His voice was suddenly husky.

Glisseo was a little

Glisseo was a little disappointed with the abrupt stop in the conversation, causing her ears to droop slightly. She little out a little huff and nodded. "Alright, then... What do you want to talk about?" She said, her head tilting to the side again. He was probably thinking the same thing she was, she wasn't worth the affection. After all, she'd just gotten her. Why would she deserve close friends? Or more? Who knew if she would even be here forever... She let out a long sigh.

He mused to himself grimly

He mused to himself grimly that this was most likely his new record time for upsetting her in their conversations. No, don't--don't be like that. He'd moved forward to nuzzle her but quickly retracted that idea and stood with his neck awkwardly positioned towards her and a look on his face that was between comfort and inner turmoil. A sigh welled up in his chest, but he'd done enough of that today. I just don't want to talk about it right now. It's not because I don't trust you or anything like that! I mean.. Yeah, I was thinking out in the birches, but it's not really.. a sort of.. idea.. THINGY that I can talk about right now, because it's not ready. Enthbril looked at her with purple eyes that hoped she understood what he was getting at. That small speech of his made him feel comfortable enough to poke her chest/neck area with his nose and crack a small smile.
Let's just forget about it and have a good time, alright?

Glisseo was reaching to

Glisseo was reaching to return his nuzzle when he stopped midway. She recoiled like he had slapped her. Maybe she had been making things up in her head. Her ears dropped a little more while she listened to him talk. "Yeah, alright." She sniffed and turned away from him. This sudden change in attitude from him was weird. She hadn't expected it, she had expected the clumsy stag she had met before. She let out a puff of air and started off toward the big rocks of the playground. "Come on then, clumsy." She said, a bitter undertone biting her words.

His heart broke when he saw

His heart broke when he saw how she reacted to what he'd said. Boy oh boy, was he screwing things up today. It was probably best if he just followed her and didn't say anything for a while so that he wouldn't make things even worse, so that's what he did. He didn't have it in him to keep his head from hanging low while they traveled towards those unfeeling grey rocks. His moment to comfort her had passed and left him feeling hopeless and empty.

Glisseo looked back to see

Glisseo looked back to see him trailing behind her and sighed again. He was even more pitiful than she was, and she hadn't been the one being all bipolar. She slowed her steps for a moment so that he could catch up and then walked beside him. "Bet you can't catch me." She said quickly, with a sly smile. She bumped his shoulder and took off toward the slanted rock. She saw the playground differently now, after resting there after her attacks. It was a place of refuge and safety, as well as a place for joy and freedom. She leapt up onto the cold stone and stood, one leg poised in the air, looking back at him with the same sly smile. Maybe a little play would bring him back out of his shell?

Her sudden movement was

Her sudden movement was enough to rouse him from his gloom for a moment and realize what was going on around him. Gliss wanted to.. play? [/i]Are all does this confusing?[/i] He thought to himself, totally confused by what had provoked her to act like she was. Then again, this was a lot better than how they'd been a moment before! Enthbril decided to try playing a bit with her to see how things would turn out seeing as how they weren't going stellar with his current plan of action.
Really? He snorted and pawed at the ground. Bet you I can! And with that he was tearing up the grass beneath his hooves as he tore off after her. Running helped him forget his troubles a little bit. He put on an extra burst of speed and slid to a halt in front of the rock she stood on. His tail wiggled as his chest sunk a little towards the ground.

She waited for him to react

She waited for him to react and laughed when he came running her way. That was more like it! She leaned down to look at him when he got close enough, and notice him crouching. She snorted and kicked a stray pebble down his way before bounding high up the rock and coming to its flat neighbor. "Whats the matter? Afraid of heights?" Glisseo called down, teasing him with a giggle. She trotted in circles around the rock. It felt good to be active again! Her chest moved quickly with her breaths and she threw her head back to enjoy the breeze, staring at the canopy above.

Nothing but silence came from

Nothing but silence came from him when his mouth quirked into a devious little grin. He tossed his antlers to hit the pebble away from both of them and then clambered up the rock that Glisseo had been on previously. Her scent was heavier there and he allowed himself a moment to appreciate that--but then he noticed that she was distracted by the breeze and leaves above her. A bigger grin came over his face.
As quietly as he could, he snuck up onto her left flank and then goosed her with the blunt oval of his knee. GOTCHA!

Glisseo hadn't heart him

Glisseo hadn't heart him sneaking up on her but let out a help when he came in contact with her. She spun around and butted him in the shoulder with her head as a reflex. She went cross-eyed for a minute with the sudden come and go of adrenaline. "You shouldn't sneak up like that!" She shook the lingering pain from her skull and head-butted him again, this time more gently, lingering in his fur a moment longer before she stepped away. "But, I guess fair is fair and you won... This time." She said, clearing her throat.

Instant laughter tore from

Instant laughter tore from him. Sor-OWWW-rry! I couldn't help myself. That was so mean of me, heheh.. I'm sorry. It was a while before he could stop laughing, but he finally did and nuzzled her cheek to try and make up for what he'd done. Do I win something? His tail went up again and he wiggled himself around, feeling mischievous despite the ache in his shoulder.

Glisseo couldn't help but

Glisseo couldn't help but laugh along with him, the light sounds floating in the area around them. She stood on the edge of the rock and looked down, before glancing back at him. "Depends on what you had in mind." She said with a sly smile, laughing again. She was glad she was able to coax a good mood out of him. She wouldn't have wanted to hang around with his rain cloud soaking up all the fun.

You can't say that! Color

You can't say that! Color flushed his cheeks in his immediate embarrassment: he'd retrograded back to being his usual flustered self. A few hairs fell from the fluff around his neck and were carried off by another breeze.
Then, a thought came to him. If I got to decide what the prize was, I'd want it to be.. something like we could do something like hang out. Later tonight, or.. whatever, it's not I made up the rules. The last part was spat out in a flourish. He'd begun trundling his way down the thin leaning rock so that he could lay down beneath its shade. His ears were flattened against his head but his posture was typical and his tail twitched a little as if he felt somewhat pleased with himself.

Glisseo laughed under his

Glisseo laughed under his breath at the sudden return of his nervous nature. She liked this version of him. It was much cuter, and easier to deal with. She put her ears back and glanced at him from under her eyelashes. Was he... Asking her on a date? Or, whatever version of those that deer had? She let him walk down the rock ahead of her, staying at the top a moment longer to grin in victory, though she hadn't really done anything. She went down the rock in a series of little hops and jumped down to the ground. "Alright... I guess that sounds fair enough." She replied as nonchalantly as she could manage, a wild grin beginning to show through her cool exterior.

It was definitely cooler

It was definitely cooler laying down on the damp earth in the shade of the thin rock. As an added bonus, the cooler temperatures helped his flushing go down so he could concentrate on more than just the added heat he'd been experiencing.
She said yes! Oh, I thought it was kind of dumb, but if you actually want to.. then it's a deal. Enth cloaked his enthusiasm with mock haughtiness and a smirk. I can't believe she wants to!
It's, uh, nice and cool down here. He stated when he'd adjusted himself so that his knees were neatly folded beneath his furred breast. Too bad there's no blueberries. This spot would be the best if there were blueberries to eat instead of this boring grass. Why does the grass in this area taste so bad? He was aware that he was being a chatterbox, but really there was no reason for it to bother him when he was feeling this joyful.

She laughed a little and

She laughed a little and moved to lay beside him. When she did she noticed how close she had gotten, their fur mixing together between them. She blushed and looked away. "Its a deal. But if it turns out boring you're totally on your own." She teased and rocked so that her shoulder bumped gently into his. Glisseo smiled contently, happy that all of her worrying was over. He was interested. He had just been nervous. She let out an inaudible sigh of relief. She was still worried about the future. What if one day she just woke up in the human world, unable to get back? The thought scared her, she didn't want to get attached to this deer and then end up breaking his heart, or something. "You talk about food an awful lot." She said with a laugh, coming back to the real world. Or, this world, anyway.

Grey and orange fur quietly

Grey and orange fur quietly mixing together. Enthbril didn't know why exactly that sight fascinated him, but it did for a grand moment in time. Very reasurring, thanks. He simpered at her before she nudged him with her shoulder. By now the gesture was familiar enough that his body made him return it without his knowing while his mind bustled with ideas for their later hang-out session. First he'd have to dunk himself into the pond a few times, then he'd have to spend some quality time grooming to get rid of extra hair, and then he'd roll in the grass until his fur was shiny. Before all of that he'd have to rub his antlers some more to get the rest of the velvet off.. but then he'd show her how to dig up roots in the pond (without getting too muddy). Maybe they could snack on some blueberries or mushrooms along their way to find somewhere to sleep for the night..
He was so caught up in his dreamy thoughts that he almost missed what she said next. No, I don--hmmf..maybe I do, but food is important. A verbal stumble. Well, I mean.. important to everything. Crows, koi, even plants need to eat food. Plus, if you eat one thing and then try another, sometimes it tastes REALLY good. Like, the tubers in the pond, for example. A mouthful of those with some mushrooms..! Right then his stomach growled, so he didn't need to explain it to her. He laughed.

Glisseo snorted and looked

Glisseo snorted and looked away from her. Her mind not really wandering, but it wasn't still, either. She took a deep breath and let it out as she listened to him ramble on about food. When he wasn't eating it, he was talking about it. She smiled, her expression radiating her fondness for the young stag. "Did you figure that one out all on your own?" She responded with light sarcasm, and once again, bumper her shoulder against his. It had become a comfortable movement. She felt as if it reassured her and Enthbril. She was still doubting involvement with the male, but what good ever came out of doubts. None. So, she would throw caution to the wind and let what happened, happen.

That wonderful look that came

That wonderful look that came over her face turned his insides into jelly and made his face warm. Aheh.. yeah. The shoulder-bump was returned lightly; Enthbril moved as it to gather himself closer to nuzzle or lick her, who knows, but he held himself back and instead smiled in that silly way that was typical of a stag his age looking at the doe of his affections.
A small murder of crows flew by and ravaged his dreamy thoughts with their throaty calls. His round ears swiveled forward and he tracked them with his gaze until they were blocked by the sheltering rocks around him. So! He exhaled with a kind of finality, watching for the crows. Do you need time to get ready for our.. thing? I don't know how it works, but, uh, I really need to. And! And, I have to plan so it won't be boring! His attention was back on her now.

Glisseo gave a little laugh

Glisseo gave a little laugh and shook her head. She loved that he was so enthused about the idea of spending more time with her. She wished she could summon the energy to return it completely. But hey! At least she would get to see what a deer's version of a date was. She nuzzled his cheek and stood up, leaning down to stretch her back, she looked at him. "I suppose I can leave you to freak out on your own." She said with a laugh, and stood back up.

The music of her laughter

The music of her laughter tickled his ears and made that goofy smile of his stretch back over his face and her nuzzle erased any doubts that he would end up freaking out or messing things up. It didn't seem possible that anything could go wrong.
Okay, great.. he breathed a little dreamily at her while he pulled himself onto his legs. We can meet at the Oak later--no. How about we meet behind the Oak? If she sat inside the great hollow tree, he was sure she'd be able to spy on him at the Pond while he bathed. It wasn't as if he didn't want her to see. Rather, he was afraid he'd be hyper-aware of her gaze on him and that would cause him to do something stupid, like fall into the deep end as he'd done on the day they met.

"Alright! I'll see you there

"Alright! I'll see you there after awhile!" She chirped with a wide smile. She nuzzled his cheek again, bumping temples accidentally in her excitement. She giggled and turned to trot off. She stop after she got to the edge of the playground and turned around, her tail twitching happily. She smiled and went to wander around until it was time to meet with him behind the oak. Surely her doubts were just that... Doubts! What could possibly go wrong?

With a sense of excitement

With a sense of excitement stirring behind his furred chest, the young stag chanced a dewy-eyed look back at Glisseo before he too turned and began his preparations.
The next hour passed in a blur: he'd gotten somewhat too eager about his bath in the Pond and nearly drowned himself not just once, but two times, and he felt ready to die from exhaustion by the time he finally managed to get himself out of the depths and flung his sopping body into a strong beam of sunlight. That alone provided him with enough energy to both lick himself dry and to get rid of any fur he'd needed to shed.
After that, he rolled and thrashed around in the grass to further clean his fur. Enthbril came over to the Pond's surface and looked at his reflection. He saw the familiar orange and brown stag with much cleaner fur--and blades of grass that stuck out everywhere from him! A quick shake removed most of them, and then he was nearly finished: he'd forgotten to remove some of his velvet, which needed to be done beforehand since it could get messy. Looking back into the Pond, he decided to skip that since his antlers looked relatively fine anyways. An idea slipped into his mind and he trotted over into the Birches..
--

The sun was setting by the time he was ready.
Enthbril inhaled, then exhaled deeply to calm himself as he walked as slowly as he could to the Oak. That didn't work. What if she doesn't like the stuff at the pond? What if this is just like how we normally hang out? What if she doesn't like ANYTHING? His heart began beating somewhere in his throat, making him feel nauseous. Best to pick up the pace so she wouldn't have to wait too long.
After some time he finally arrived at the front of the Oak. He cleared his throat, shuck his fur, straightened his back, and slipped towards the back. Gl..Glisseo?

Glisseo had wandered around

Glisseo had wandered around the forest, quite aimlessly. She avoided the area of the Oak, and the pond, just so she wouldn't ruin the surprise. Mostly, she just watched the other deer. All of them seemed to be travelling in couples. Or maybe it was just a trick her brain was playing on her. She scoffed and decided to ignore other deer for the time being. She was still worried... She didn't want to hurt him, ever. And she had a feeling in the pit of her stomach that this was bound to happen. After about an hour she circled around and headed for the Oak tree.

She was almost there when a weird, pressuring sensation enveloped her skull. Making her feel like she was being squeezed through a hole. She blinked against the pain, her eyes watering. Then, her stomach started turning flips and she felt bile rise in her throat. She vomited, still making her way toward the tree. Though her legs were wobbly and she was stumbling just about every step. Her hooves dragged the grass, tearing up clumps. What was happening? More bile rose and she collapsed just at the side of the tree. She heard Enthbril call her name and looked up, squinting to see his blurry figure only a dozen feet away.

"Enthbril!" Her voice was shrill, and the wind was probably the only reason it reached the stag. A few seconds lapsed and her body went limp, her eyes lifeless. Soon, her "soul" dimmed and disappeared in a puff of purple smoke. Followed by her whole body disappearing a few seconds later, in the same acrid mist.

When she woke up, the white walls of a hospital surrounded her. She jerked forward, grabbing on to the rails of her bed, an IV pulling against her skin. Machines beeped above and around her. Her head spun. NO!

An acrid stench he'd never

An acrid stench he'd never experienced before took a hold of his attention and made him wince. The smell wasn't anything like blood, but the trembling need to flee that he sensed in his legs was the same.
She wasn't behind the Oak. Fear quickly gripped at the young buck's heart, and then he heard his name. Glisseo?
Her name echoed dully from the Oak. A shiver ran up him. The smell became stronger, making him feel dizzy and even more scared, but he needed to know what it was. Very slowly he approached the front of the Oak and saw the pile of--whatever the heck that was--laying on the ground just ahead of many strange dents in the ground where clumps and lines of grass had been torn up. Now that--that didn't look good. And was that a dark whisp of smoke he'd seen just a few seconds ago? Why would she leave like that..? Enthbril couldn't help himself from speaking out loud; part of his brain that he wasn't aware of had hoped that physically speaking would clear up something for him, but there was nothing.
There were no predators in the Forest--that was a lie, but he hadn't heard of a random attack before.. so where could she have gone?
GLISSEO!
He ran to the Ruins.
GLISSEO!
The Birches.
The Playground. He ran everywhere, scouring the earth and desperately questioning every intelligent creature he saw.

He went through the Forest two more times before his front right leg gave out on him while he was shuffling through a large bed of poppies. Red petals scattered and landed on the hopeless orange figure. Although his throat felt ruined, he managed to rasp out her name one last time before he let the heartache consume his entire being.

Glisseo trotted through the forest. Enthbril's scent seemed to be everywhere. Like he'd constantly been moving through the trees since she'd disappeared. She searched behind every rock in the birch, in the Oak, stood atop the playground for a better vantage point. So far, nothing had turned up. She was going in circles because of his scent. It would be strong against a tree and then fade as she followed it. Strong against a boulder and then fade. She sighed in frustration and smashed some berries beneath her hoof, grinding them into the dirt. She continued on her way, calling his name every once in awhile, a question mark hanging in the air. Where was he? Hiding from her? Was he upset that she had disappeared? Did he think that she'd stood him up? She was starting to see red with her frustration. She finally made it back to the willow's on the high side of the pond and looked out over the water, searching for clues or ideas....

Surely it had been an eternity since he'd last seen her. He'd spent twice that amount of time dragging his barely functioning body past the same landmarks to look for any clues or hear of any word: at first he'd been sure there would be evidence around the Oak, but there was nothing. Nothing but what looked like the indentation of a deer's body in the soft earth and grass and a spattering of a foul substance.

It had been a lifetime since Enthbril had allowed himself to rest--at the most just a few hours every day. Despite the uncertainty that brewed thickly within the young stag's heart ever since the panic attack had temporarily robbed him control of himself, a greater heat forced his tortured body onwards as if he was little more than a machine fulfilling the duty it was built for, but even machines need their rest. He'd neglected to set aside adequate time for himself to eat and sleep. It had been remarkable that he was able to function for that long without any kind of sustenance or substantial break from his fruitless searching, but exhaustion won the battle as he was making his way to the Blue Bowl. The timing could have been a lot better: the last thing he remembered was a light feeling of surprise when he saw a rock that seemed to be leaping towards his head.

There was a good sized lump on his head where he'd made contact with the rock along with a fine crust of dried blood and a crack at the base of his right antler. His fur was unkempt and falling out in some places. Cuts lay scattered across his sides and legs--badges he won every time he stumbled or fell. He slid a short ways down the incline after hitting his head and lay there in a way that made it obvious he wasn't just taking a nap with his neck arched towards the lip of the Bowl and legs thrown in odd directions like twigs in a storm.
A few savvy birds took this opportunity to raid loose tufts of hair while he was still unresponsive to the feeling of little feet all over his neck and their incessant pulling.

Glisseo stood by the willows,

Glisseo stood by the willows, staring out over the lake for some time. Her ears twitching was the only sign of life she showed. She closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths... She had to steady herself. She was beginning to get frantic. Where was the brown stag? Was he ducking behind trees to avoid her wanderings? Did he think that she had somehow betrayed him? She shook her head and spun around. Looking left and right... She leaped over the river and tore off toward the birch. It was like there was a rope around her neck, suddenly pulling her in that direction. Large trees shot up around her and she darted around them. She felt like she was a blur, her legs moving at a speed most other deer couldn't achieve. Then, her hoof connected against a rock and she went tumbling, tail over ears. She rolled down the hill, getting tangled in weeds and crushed berries staining her coat. With a thud she landed on her rump. She shook her head, waiting for her vision to focus. If she wasn't sore before, she certainly was now. Stalks of the rich blue berries filled her line of site. Up ahead, though... There were birds. A lot of them. She frowned, what were the disgusting creatures after this time? She got to her feet carefully and shook her pelt free of debris. She took a step closer, "Enthbril!" She ran over, the birds scattering at the sound of her hooves. She knocked a stubborn crow aside with her head and snapped at it when it tried to climb back on the deer. "Enthbril! Can you hear me?! Wake up!" She exclaimed. She lowered her head to his and nudged his cheek once, twice. He wasn't stirring. Her head shot back up and she looked around, what was she supposed to do? She was bad in a crisis. Her flight instinct was much stronger than her fight. She grunted and leaned down to nudge him again. "Come on, clumsy! Get your ass up!" She said against clinched teeth, shoving her head under his and lifting.

His head rolled promisingly

His head rolled promisingly when she nudged his cheek, but then it rested where it lay previously. Enthbril would have easily been declared deceased if it had not been for the quick rise and fall of his ribcage that was now somewhat prominent from those days of fasting. The head trauma and his exhaustion had stuck the young stag into a weird state of consciousness that was not quite a coma, sleeping, or having fainted--he could sense the noises and movement around him but these only came to him in small threads of understanding that made it hard to know if he should (or could) get up.
It felt so delicious to just lay there, warm and temporarily unable to worry about anything at all. But that noise made it hard for him to enjoy it..

A sharp exhale air quivered through his nostrils. Enthbril didn't like the feelings that overwhelmed him as he tried to gather up the will to pull himself from his semi-conscious stupor: he was hungry, thirsty, tired beyond all comprehension, sore all over, and his stomach churned threateningly. He exhaled a whispered complaint and was still.

Glisseo grumbled under her

Glisseo grumbled under her breath. He really needed to lay off the berries. "This is what your obsession with food gets you..." She grouched. There was no way she could lift him, not on her own. And there wasn't another deer around that she could ask for help. He just had to collapse in the most inconvenient of locations. She snorted and dropped his head back to the ground. That was when she noticed that wound on his head. She sighed and moved closer to examine it. It wasn't serious, though it was bleeding quite a bit. As head injuries seemed to do. She licked it as clean as the jagged ends of his split antler would allow, sure that she'd cut her tongue in the process. She snorted and bit his ear in frustration, trying to get some kind of movement or words out of him. He needed to react so that she could get him near some water. Or near something other than these God forsaken berries... The berries! She did her best to strip some from a stalk and placed a couple on a leaf in front of Enthbril's nose, she crushed a few to strengthen the aroma. Maybe his stomach would wake him up? It was certainly making enough noise.

The world jumped

The world jumped frighteningly around him as his head fell back to the ground. It surprised him enough to mutter something again, this time a little louder, but still barely perceptible. Everything felt cold. Cold and..wet? Something flat and wet kept touching his head where--oh, jeez--it stung so bad. His brow furrowed in an attempt to work against the pain, but then it stopped--

Now his ear! Some creature was definitely going out of its way to bother him, but he sure wasn't going to let in and let it have its way. Enthbril grunted weakly just before the scent of blueberries slapped him about the face, reached down into his stomach, and shook its fist around with enough force that he couldn't stop himself from getting sick all over the leaf and its offered contents. Now he was finally awake and pitifully trying to shift his head away from the disgusting thing he'd done, but his antlers got in the way so he had to lift his head up and a away as far as he could. Purple eyes half-slitted in the light focused on one dark hoof in front of his vision. Black hoof with a white sock.
There was a white hoof with a dark sock.

Enthbril stared blearily up at Glisseo, lips parting slightly in his shock.

Glisseo groaned when Enthbril

Glisseo groaned when Enthbril vomited over her offered meal. She shifted to the side, avoiding the slime as it seeped down the incline. "You are so lucky I like you." Glisseo snapped when Enthbril looked up at her. "Since you've finally graced me with your presence, care to get up?" She reached back down and nudged his muzzle with her own. She moved to the nape of his neck and gripped it with her teeth, tugging lightly. She ignored the patches of hair that fell away from her grip. As well as the bald spots that already covered her crush. What had he been doing the week she'd been gone? Fight Club? She huffed out a sigh and decided it was time that he didn't have a choice but to get up. She crouched down, so that she was almost laying, and placed her shoulder under his. She braced her hooves in the loose soil and pushed upward against the stag. "Let's go, clumsy!" She grunted.

How was she here again? What

How was she here again? What the heck was going on? Why was she so angry at him?
He could do little but allow her to pull on his neck, the discomfort it caused him unimportant while his brain was scrabbling for information. But then it hurt him a little bit too much.
Stop.. The words scratched his already ruined throat and made him gag. Please.. stop.. A little louder and made thick with the tears that distorted his vision. Enthbril leaned against her pushing as his head collapsed back to the ground and he began sobbing in his confusion and relief.

Glisseo was here. She was finally here. Nothing had eaten or attacked her. Nothing he'd done had brought her here, but there she was.
Everything already hurt from his ordeal and it hurt more to cry but there was no stopping it. Her name came out of his mouth and was broken up into unrecognizable noises in-between his sobbing.

Glisseo stopped pushing when

Glisseo stopped pushing when she heard his complaints and relaxed, laying on the ground. She sighed, a mixture of frustration of concern. She settled with licking the wound on his head again as it had continued to bleed after her previous cleaning. Then she noticed that he seemed to be breathing strange. Was he... He couldn't be... He was crying! She froze, unsure of what to do. Men didn't cry. Did that not apply to deer? She cleared her throat. Completely uncomfortable with this rush of emotion from the stag. "Stop your gushing. What are you doing?" She snapped. Anger was the only emotion that she knew to respond with. She didn't know why he was crying, so she had no idea to fix is. Was he physically hurt? Was it because he needed a haircut? Had she hurt him? She groaned in frustration and looked away from him, waiting for the tears to stop so that she could attempt to move him again. "We have to get you some water, or something. You look terrible. So suck it up, okay?"

A sense of horror exploded

A sense of horror exploded over him and bit away at his rational mind when she snapped at him. The surprise immediately stopped the tears and then was quickly replaced with such an inferno of rage that he could possibly have attacked her if he was able to stand up on his own.
You have.. no.. no right to say that to me.. Enthbril's eyes shone with animal fury. You just--just WENT away. Had no idea where you were. Look-looked everywhere for you. The anger fueled him so that his voice was almost normal now, though it hissed at her through his clenched teeth.
Do you.. have any idea how.. Mental stumbling. ..how worried I was..? Only.. only stopped.. looking today when I fell. Chest rose and collapsed upon itself to keep his rage burning steady. Don't tell me to "suck it up.." Have no idea.. how worried I was..
He'd expected some sort of great reunion when she'd returned. They were going to run at each other and nuzzle, then go running around together and kicking their hooves out behind them in their unbridled joy. Maybe then he would have told her-- Enthbril pushed away from the doe and stood on his own for half a second before his knees gave out and he slumped further up the small hill, his stomach now heavy with confusion.
