Hello,

We're trying out a new server at the moment. You do not need to do anything different than usual, except perhaps for waiting a few seconds longer to connect. Please do and let me know if you notice any changes.

PS: connecting to the new server does require a restart of the game; it doesn't automatically switch

Not sure if it's the server or if it's just me, but I was having quite a bit of lag while everybody was running around. Super fast loading/log-in though!

the weather brings so much

the weather brings so much joy!! i was so happy to see it raining today!! thank you Michael!!

i am also experiencing some deer freezing whilst we're playing though, and some choppiness / sliding that wasn't present before. but, i was having trouble connecting to the client before the new server, (im on windows 11 so thats already a mess with TEF unless running with backward compatibility.)

but NOW, the connecting now was extremely fast, faster than I had ever connected before, since I'm often stuck with the red/orange dot until restarting the client a few times. this time it's been consistently green, on first attempt to sign into my deer. login times for me were faster than before!!

My laptop runs on Windows 11

My laptop runs on Windows 11 and I have been unable to connect to the forest for quite a while. In fact just earlier this week, I was attempting fixes again with no joy.
But this server change seems to have weirdly fixed it... I have to launch the game twice for it to work, but it works! I am so thrilled! Thankyou. Laughing out loud

Connecting works better on

Connecting works better on Windows 10 but I think emotes have been a bit less responsive? Still no luck on linux, though now it's not stuck in a connecting loop anymore, just doesn't even try. I know that's not a priority though. Also, the rain is wonderful!

I have been messing with the new server a bit trying to solve the map problem. So you might not have been able to connect. Sorry about that. But things should work now.

If the person responsible for the map contacts me, I can help them make it work again.

The map is disabled at the moment because my workaround crashed the server as soon as more players joined. I have an idea for a solution but I will probably only have time on Monday to try it out.
So please enjoy a mapless weekend!
