Faunet only noticed Juneau by her side. Hes given up she thought as she continued on the trail. It took 5 minutes for her to reach the top of the cliff. She disgarded her jacket before sitting on the rock.
Alaska caught up a while later, he had obviously pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket on the way, for as he approached he blew a small smoke ring before sitting down beside her.
"You could have waited" he mumbled, blowing another ring, watching Juneau jump and bite at it, the smoke swirling off in different directions.
Alaska pointed simply to Juneau.
"we do not seperate" another smoke ring, this one, undisturbed, floated high before the wind caught it.
"I would not go far from June' and he does not leave me. we are eachother's only family, friends, and guardians. That bond is not broken by one of our whims, our decisions are linked, what he decides, we may act upon, what I decide, we may act upon, it is complex, to say the least, like sharing a mind and soul."
The state arched a brow.
"why?" he looked down, flicking the embers of the cigarette away before dropping it and stepping on it.
"What are you trying to prove?" he questioned.
"yes" he calmly stepped close, looking down at the mostly calm sea.
"people don't jump off of cliffs in the middle of the night, unless they have a reason" he turned his eyes back to her, the pink-red in them flaring up, looking strange in the darkness.
"what are you trying to prove. Who are you trying to impress?"
Im really trying to prove anything and Im sure as hell not trying to impress any one. she retorted. And if I recall I dont remember inviting you on my little outing she arched her eyebrow.
"like I said before, you were last seen with me, you die, I could get blamed, and while I would easily get out of it being...what I am, I have better things to do than mess with the legal process" he rolled his shoulders, reaching down to pet juneau.
Alaska shrugged.
He would follow her if she jumped again, but he wasn't about to try and stop her, he just wasn't the type to care if she wanted to threaten her own life or not.
The state threw his hands in the air, cursing under his breath.
Juneau jumped again, with a sigh.
Alaska rolled his eyes, stepping off the edge.
He did not surface right away, why bother?
the sea was cold and calming, eyes bitten by seawater, he didn't care of course, he thrived on pain.
He came up only when it became slightly uncomfortable to not breath, and even then he allowed himself to bob at the surface, looking up through damp bangs at the moon, Juneau would find Faunet he knew, he had no reason, nor willingness, to worry.
Juneau barked, moving back to Alaska, tugging his sleeve.
The state sighed, following as the wolf dove, coming up shivering slightly, but it quickly passed.
Juneau pulled himself out, flopping down.
Alaska remained in the water, content where he was for now.
Juneau whimpered, exhausted.
Alaska frowned, getting out of the water, pulling the canine into his lap.
"you should go back to the hotel" he stroked the wolf's wet fur.
"I'll catch up in a moment, when June' feels better"
The wolf sighed, standing again, Alaska following.
"let's go" he slipped easily into the water, Juneau following "and if you jump again" his eyes flared red.
"I will not follow"
"I will not explain the sense of responsibility you place upon me by being seen at my side" he sighed, diving, coming back up on the outside and swimming to the beach, coughing softly.
The state sighed, laying down upon the beach, sand still warm from the sun of the day.
He sighed, laying an arm over his eyes, Juneau flopping down next to him.
the state's eyes fluttered open, listening, his eyes soft once again swirling, like a reflection of the sky above if it had been alight with an aroura.
Juneau ticked his ears, lifting his head.
To make you believe that your not alone
That im here to stay by your side
Your hand in mine
If forever
Gives us the time
Then I will stay by your side
She ended in a sweet melody standing up she dived into the water. coming upon the outside of the cliff
The white haired man made a soft thoughtful sound, then removed the small top he wore, tossing it to the sandy ground so he could sit on it without making a sandy mess of himself.
Juneau sat by him, panting happily, still dripping with seawater.
Faunet bobbed back up again
She saw the beauty of the moon and she held her breath before she began to sing
If only I had wings
My dear friend
I would fly straight to you
Nothing to stand in my way
Nothing to stop me
My heart would be free
Instead of being bound in these forsakes chain.
The state listened quietly.
freeom, what a joke, there was no such thing.
he looked at Juneau.
"I wonder what California is doing" he mumbled to the canine absently.
Alaska stood slowly, picking his shirt up, either not noticing or not caring if the girl was sad.
"one of us is going to end up sick"" he mumbled, coughing softly.
