Its the stars that run away that men love to try to grap. Wishing on them and hoping they come true. The moon is beautiful that much is true but theres only one and its all alone. It does not let the stars in for fear it might see a new bright light much like you she sighed
"all the better, for I too turn the lights of others away in favor of loneliness" he lay back, removing his coat and using it to support his head, not shivering despite the sleeveless tube top beneath it, clearly made for a girl, but it kept him from overheating under his coat.
"I am the moon, and Juneau is my sky" he mumbled.
The soft sunlight cast strange shadows over his skin, which was littered with countless scars, over his shoulders and arms, as well as his lithe stomach and sides, likely on his back as well though that remained hidden against the ground.
And I am but a lonely star that many dont seem to like. she said laying back her head touching the rock. A guest among many but no one really notices me.
"maybe it is better that way...but then" he gestured once more to the sky above.
"you could always run, shoot, fall into a new place...the sky is as endless as the world, one must only keep moving to find their place"
Juneau trotted over, laying down between them, touching both of their sides as if afraid one of them would vanish.
The thing is a dont want to run what would be the pointshe said sighing petting Juneau. The moon can hide and take shelter behind the sun but this star doesnt see the reason to be just one,
"to each their own I suppose" he shrugged.
"I have had countless lovers, many of which I no longer remember the names of, many of which I never knew the names of, but never have I /loved/ he glanced at Juneau smiling at the content look on his face. "Searching hard enough often yields results, and in your searching I wish you luck"
"I never said I loved them, I merely said they were lovers, to put it politely" he sat up as well, supporting himself on one arm, the other draped over his waist.
"The only names I need to remember, is my own and Juneau's" he shook his head, "Many of those men are likely dead by now anyway, I outlive any potential human partners"
Faunet pursed her lips and took a deep breath trying not to give in to the urge to punch him.
She decided to put a bot of distance between them so she stood up and walked a couple of steps away. How can he be so cold she thought.
Faunet sat on the ground letting Juneau comfort her. However she was not gonna let him get off that easy. Why are you living what do you want to do with it she directed her question at him.
"I live because I represent a mass of land, you might know about it, it's attached to Canada" he blinked slowly, "I live because I have no choice, and years upon hundreds of thousands of years from now, when the earth is gone and my land destroyed I will fade away without complaint. Until then, I merely seek out ways to make the time pass faster"
"what do you propose I do with it? I have loved, lost, I have children, I have completed the tasks most humans have given themselves" he tugged his jacket on again as he stood, moving to the cliff's edge, looking down at the ocean below thoughtfully.
The state frowned, catching her before she could move away in order to meet her eyes.
"Easier said than done" he stated simply, letting go gently.
"You have no idea what I have gone through, the things you can read in textbooks, and things that only those involved would know"
The Alaskan laughed undr his breath.
"You sound just like America, and England, asking me to share my past" he shook his head slowly.
"Some things cannot be fixed, and in the only way that I can be, I am content with my life"
Alright so your content to stay the same are you fine I wont force you to open up.she said letting go and took off her jacket. Faunet went to the very edge of the cliff and looked at the ocean.
"Thank you" he stated simply, giving a shallow nod as he moved to stand beside her.
"What would happen if you jumped, you who like I cannot age or die"
I dunno she replied as she kicked off her shoes and socks. But I suppose Ill find out but actually I dont know whether I can die or not its never been tested.she said while placing her stuff on the rock.
"Brave" he smiled, eyes alight with reds blues and sharp greens.
He removed his coat and gloves, as wel as his boots.
Juneau padded to his side, the sea breeze caressing his fur.
"Then I suppose I will come too"
Alaska flinched in surprise at the kiss, Juneau making a laughing sound in the back of his throat.
The wolf leaped down, fur streaming gently.
Alaska followed, holding his breath as he jumped.
The water was cold, refreshing to one who represented a land of ice and cold and snow.
He came up easily, Juneau paddling through the waves to his side, then moving again seeking out Faunet.
The state shook himself, pulling himself up onto a large rock, looking around.
"Juneau" he waved a hand.
"Find her, I don't want to be responsible for a murder" he mumbled.
Juneau barked, finding the girl as swiftly as he could, powerful jaws closing over her shoulder, moving back to the stone where Alaska sat, pulling her up as carefully as he could.
Faunet could feel teeth gently pulling her and then a pair of hands pulled her out of the water. But she did not open her eyes hell she might even be dead
Alaska sighed, managing to, with Juneau's help, get her back to the beach where they could move.
"Come now, open your eyes" he mumbled, leaning his head down to listen to her heartbeat.
Faunet could hear someone commanding her to open her eyes but she couldnt quite understand. Instead she drifted out of consciousness her heart barely beating.
"damn" he nodded to Juneau who rushed off, coming back with the items they had left upon the cliff.
He gently took his coat, tucking it around the girl, pulling her into his lap to warm her.
"Guess this means I won't be getting a free bed tonight" he grumbled, standing.
Juneau followed, items in his jaws as Alaska walked.
"So juneau, Hospital or hotel?" Juneau barked.
"hotel it is" he grumbled.
"good, you're awake, the people at the front desk asked about your health, said you were drunk, hope you don't mind" the state stated.
He was dry now, had dried the girl as well, his coat still over her where he had placed her on one of the two beds in the room, he himself had taken a seat on the windowsill.
"how do you feel?"
"if you listen, you can still hear the waves" he stood, moving to a bag on the table, pulling out a bottle of Vodka and taking a swig from it.
"you should stay here tonight, even if I don't, the room has been paid for"
Heartless drunk she murmered as Juneau jumped on the bed hey fella she said petting the wolf.Faunet Brushed aside the jacket revealing her wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
"It will take more than this bottle for me to lose myself" he replied, almost glaring.
"and with a few cheap and flirty words, it was free" he smirked, taking a smaller sip.
"if you get yourself hurt more, or killed, and I get blamed, I will be annoyed, it's no care of mine if you do though" he moved to the second bed, laying down, bottle in hand.
Alaska silently caught up, walking by her side, he said nothing, coat still in the room, he figured he wouldn't need it if he was merely going to follow her.
Faunet was puzzled but allowed him to stay by her side until they reached the door leading to the beach. After that she sprinted running as fast as she could. If he really wanted to follow her he had to keep up.
