Introduction into the forest

Long legs raced, reaching great distances.
Heart pounded with force unlike anything.
Fear coursed through her veins, sweat dripping.
A dark skinned woman ran bare foot across the savannah. Pushing past the tall grasses, spooking a herd of zebra along her way. The wind caught hold of the garments she wore, as if trying to hold her back from whatever she was running from. Despite these drawbacks, the woman didn't slow down. Coming up to a wide river, not a hint of hesitation was shown, continuing into the water. Hippos lifted their large heads, watching her cross. Crocodiles basking along the banks did the same.
"Faster, Faster."
The cry of guns rippled over the land, causing many animals to scatter.
Not slowing down. Not looking back. No hesitation, only a look of determination.
Ahead of her, buildings. Passing a sign, it read 'Animal Preserve and Sanctuary'. She was going to make it, the information she had would be received. All the hard work would pay off in the end. As she passed by the giraffe enclosure, something caught her eye. A body. The body of one of the giraffes. It laid there, cold and stiff; blood dripped from a bullet wound. The woman turned to see a group of man, all grinning like a pack of hyenas. She was to late.
"No . . . "
The gun was lifted. Pointed at her. Shot.
Birds took off in a panic, blocking out the sun with the shire numbers of them.

The cry of birds called out, squawking and making a fuss. As feathers fell from the sky, leading to where the birds were headed. The new arrival is here. Their call seemed to announce as a few of them perched on the sleeping figure. This forest was a strange place, and strange things did occur. She is waking up. One cried; hinting to the others that it was time to leave. The females eyes slowly fluttered open, trying to focus on her surroundings. "What . . . what has happened?" It only took her a few moments to gain the strength to lift her head, but something was wrong. She felt wrong. Different. Strange.
From the point of view for anyone else, her appearance was very peculiar. How after did something of her size and height appear here in these woods? How often was a giraffe so far from the savannah?
she's pretty :3 I'd love for
I'd love for a deer to meet her one day
perhaps my cheetah though not sure how that'd go XD hahahahah

Okay...Kaye needs some girly
The doe tipped her head, flinching back against the bush that was supposedly hiding her. Her ears flattened as the creature- a she- spoke. Had she seen her? Kaye wasn't sure. She had never seen something so tall before...besides the trees. She remained silent, knowing it was only a matter of time before she would be noticed, afterall a black doe against a green and brown veil of leaves would be noticed sooner or later...
@Waning-Sun; After taking a
After taking a moment to lift her head all the way up, finding the view was a lot higher then she ever expected, Ntombi took in her surroundings. What was this place? It looked very strange, like no where she has ever been. A few of the crows flew over her, perching in a tree, seeming to watch. At that moment, the woman recalled what had only felt like moments ago happen. Reaching to her chest, for the bullet wound. Finding none, and also finding she had no arms or hands. " . . . whaa" What is going on here? Ntombi's heart pounded away, only to catch something with the corner of her large brown eyes. There was someone standing not to far away. "Who es there!?!" Holding her breath for that moment, not sure what to expect.
Kaye's red eyes widened in
@Waning-Sun; Squinting,
Squinting, Ntombi watched as a little deer-like creature scooted into her view. What a strange little thing; she had seen deer before. Red, Fallow, Hog . . . but something was very different about this one. Stretching her face closer, finding she could get very close without even moving her body. And that was all she did for the time, just stare. Returning the stare of the doe's red eyes. It was clear that the giraffe was rather confused; but there was no signs of panic at the moment. A good sign? " . . . hello?" Something told the woman a reply was possible . . . but how?
"...Hi..." Kaye forced
"Forgive...me for staring...you are just...really, really tall." Kaye's voice shook with her nerves, but she glanced away long enough to take a breath.
@Waning-Sun; Soft round eyes
Soft round eyes blinked a few times, registering the fact that the small black doe did indeed reply. How was that possible? Ntombi tried to pull herself together, wishing that this would all make some sort of sense. Where was she? How did she get here? Was this all just a dream? Would she wake up? The doe's voice tugged her attention, glancing back down to her own form; recognizing what she was now. A giraffe. "It seems . . . ya are right." The woman lifted her head erect, taking in the scenery around her. A forest. "Please, tell meh where I am." Lips pressed in a thin line for a moment, returning her face low to face the other. Hoping for answers.
"This is the Forest." Kaye
@Waning-Sun; The forest?
The forest? Well, it did look like a forest, what else could it be. But that wasn't what she wanted to know. Where was she. Brows pressed together, thinking about her situation; but after a while it just became harder to understand. "I see . . ." Slowly, lifting one leg up at a time, she managed to lift herself up; attempting to stand. Undoubtedly, she probably looked like an idiot. Tho, persistence won over and she stood. Stood tall and towering. It felt strange to stand like this, but it felt natural as well. Ntombi looked back down to the small doe. "Do . . . ya have a name?" Having lowered her head as far as it could go.
She nodded, albeit a little
A cold wet nose was held an
She was undoubtably shocked, enough that she stumbled back too fast and tripped. Taz's hind paws slipped out from under her as she lost balance, and soon enough she was on her back, looking up at the giraffe's massive form, although blurry to her she could distinguish her outline from the forest.
@Waning-Sun; With a slow nod,
With a slow nod, the giraffe woman glanced around for a moment. Her mind went blank for a short moment. What was her name? It took her just a few seconds to remember. "It is Ntombi." Nodding to herself, yes. Ntombi, yes. "Do . . . do ya know how I came to be here?" Looking a tad worried to the black doe. The woman was generally confused, but did well to keep her cool in this very unnerving situation.
@Jinxyness;
The long legs of this young woman have carried her over great distances in her past, but never has far as her new legs have ever come close to reaching. Standing at the great height of five meters, clearly standing out in this world of trees. Ntombi stopped in a clearing, lowering herself down to the floor. Still trying to gain experience with her new body. Tho, it seemed once her large form hit the ground and became relaxed, something small thumped against her side. "Huh . . ." Turning to look, and see a small form beside her, laying on their back with their paws in the air. Large ears perked, keeping her eyes on them. "Are ya alright . . .?" Lowering her face down to the other.
Taz didn't know what to do.
@Jinxyness; No repy? Leaning
No repy? Leaning in closer, Ntombi noticed how young this pup appeared to be. Realizing that was the cause of this 'silent treatment' to the tall female. A soft breeze pushed past many of the branches of the forest, creating a soft whistle that called out. "Where . . . is ya mama?" Glancing around, sure that one this young would have a mother looking after them. A pack? Sibling? But this was a strange place. Talking animals. Some with human faces . . . like herself, she supposed. The giraffe didn't look away from Taz.
Kaye frowned in thought, but
@Waning-Sun; Many came here
Many came here besides here and there wasn't just one way? Shifting a little, a soft frown on her lips. The woman was hoping for an explanation; to clear things up. Was this heaven? The afterlife? A punishment? Tho, Kaye's question took her by the surprise. What was she? Looking down at her form, Ntombi understood. How many giraffes could have been in this forest before? "Well . . . I use to be human, but it seems now I'm . . . a giraffe." Large ears flicked back softly, feeling a small bird land on one of her little horns. It seemed she seemed more like a tree branch then a creature to some of the birds here.
maybe some day soon..

The other female's question
@Jinxyness; A frown fell upon
A frown fell upon her lips. Must be to young to speak yet? What was she thinking . . . maybe this little youngin doesn't even have the ability of speech? After all, this was a strange strange world that she has found herself in. The giraffe lowered herself down, face coming close to the little pup; smiling softly. "Well . . . hello there." Softly smiling to them, not sure what to expect.
"A giraffe?" she repeated,
@Waning-Sun Ntombi could have
Ntombi could have figured that the doe had never seen a giraffe before. Just look at this place, this forest was something for woodland creatures. Like deer, boar and small rodents; not a towering giant like herself. Oh great, now she was even referring to herself as a giraffe. "Hmmm . . . so there are naw humans here?" It would figure, after all, she was no longer human and she was once one herself. Shifting her body, the female attempted to stand, unsteady at first, but after a moment of struggle, the giraffe was on her hooves. Wow, it was strange being this high up. "How many others are here . . ." Lowering her head and neck, so that black doe would hear her.
"No...No humans. Some of us
Waning-Sun; So, it was normal
So, it was normal to just appear here? Turning to look around, able to see great distances. This forest looked like it went on for miles, possible even more? So strange. Ears perked, looking back down to the other. "Ya don't say?" Others can go? Not just come here? Thoughts turned in her head; would that mean that she could go back? Return and be human agai . . . no wait. Ntombi remembered. What would she return to? The last thing she last saw before waking up here was looking down the barrel of a gun. A chill crawled up her spine and back down. "Kaye . . . did ya come here like me?" Head titled slightly as she asked.
The black doe was silent as
Waning Sun; This doe had no
This doe had no mother or father? Was this some sort of magical world? Ears perked at the sound of the flock of crows. But what was she thinking? Of course this place has to be magic. How else could she be . . . the way that she is now. "How . . . strange; but who raised you then . . .?" Hoping it wasn't a personal question to the little doe.
Kaye's mood seemed to shift
Waning-Sun A deer bear?
A deer bear? Pausing to take that statement in, what sort of world was this? Was she asleep, dreaming? Dead? But the female didn't stay to long thinking, a small frown formed on her lips. "Raising yourself couldn't have been easy." Watching the small Kaye.
