And there he was again. Such an odd place, yet it brought him comfort. The forest was way calmer than many other places he had wandered about. The constant weather, the odd creatures which lived there, it calmed -and amused- him.
But wasn't he one really odd creature to the eyes of others, after all?
Snapping out of his thoughts, he rose. For how long had he laid there by the Crying Idol, eating some of the poppyflowers which grew by the statue? He didn't really know.
Stretching all his six legs, Lucipher looked around, V-shaped pupils glowing in a neon red. Oh, well. He casually made his way following the small creek that would lead to the pond, crossing the bridge, checking on some of the beings that always seemed to bring life to the pond...
And something else.
Perking his wide ears, the stag emitted a soft chirping sound, more of confusion. He could clearly spot an odd figure he had never seen before. It seemed to have deer body, but the cap and the mask and all... He couldn't help but feel... Curious? Curious, and at the same time uneasy. Curling his long, silky red tail he started to approach, drooping his ears and hoping that the other wasn't at least so hostile. Due to his current health, having to run would be no good.

He was more confident now, approaching slowly but gracefully, his head raised up. Though it completely broke up as the other creature looked over at him.
Then, he froze.

His ears perked, he didn't really know what to do. Everything on it was just.... odd for that place. But then again, everything there was odd, odd and magic.
Standing still on his spot, the red lines that formed his 'eyes' seemed to vibrate. Would he run, would he fight? In both situations he'd lose air, feel sore and tired.
So he would wait.

Several minutes seemed to pass by as the staring carried on. Curling his tail from side to side, he breathed deeply. The Red Demon was so concentrated on looking at the other being that when it spoke, he jolted back slightly.

'Hello', the other had said. So simple, with no aggressive tone, no fear... no emotion at all. He didn't know if he should feel relieved or intrigued by that... Maybe the safest was to feel intrigued. He couldn't tell nothing about the masked one.

There he stood for a longer matter of seconds, reaching out what to say, something to get something about the mysterious creature he had met. Taking a deep breath, he looked up again at it, and said the first thing to come over to his mind, at least the one that seemed to make more sense.

"...Hi."

That was all he had said, his voice low, almost dounding like it had echoed for a few times before disappearing; though it still was soft and rather calm. Rather nervously he drooped his ears, waiting for an answer from the oddly masked one.

Once he had stopped flicking his tail around nervously, he tilted his head. Moving his wide red ears again towards it -Or him, should he say?- Luke curled only the tip of his flexible tail, not unlike the tail of a slightly curious cat. Not raised, but tip flicking. Focused on the creature that had spoken to him.

As it spoke, his pupils disappeared for a brief moment before appearing again, as if he had blinked. The way the being spoke was so... formal. He could remember his grandmother speaking like that. His mother too, but it was way slighter.

"It's no problem...?" The demon mewled softly, awkward with the situation, yet in the deep part of his soul, he could say he was slightly amused. What was the masked creature speaking of? Attempting... something? Why would he attempt something against a stranger, for no reason...?

"I... Don't want to do anything to you." The six legged stag trilled, swallowing. "I have no reason to, why would I... 'attempt' something? It isn't like you tried to eat me or things like that." Lucipher purred, curiously looking down at the other as he rather unsurely stepped forwards.

Perking his ears as the other being stepped back he straightened up his posture, not moving; only looking down at him. Perking his ears then flicking one back, alert to the sounds of the forest, the red stag sighed. The masked creature had the right to don't trust him, he didn't trust the other himself. Lowering his head he drooped his ears, then parted his jaws slightly, letting out a low chuckle.

"Heh... I'm glad you won't." Luke said simply, curling his long and soft tail. As he continued, the ruby pelted stag sighed once again, looking down for a brief moment. "I am polite to the ones that are polite to me... Well, we shouldn't judge one another on what they look like. You might surprise yourself."

More of relaxed now the Red Demon purred deeply. If his face had muscles and skin, he would probably be smiling softly to the one in front of him, or more of smirking softly. It was so oddly amusing, he couldn't help it.

It was a cold spring morning in the forest, bodies of sleeping deer lie throughout the forest. The saint, however, was awake. Though she was sitting, she was enjoying the brisk morning sitting beside her tree. Stretching her limbs, she rose and inhaled the cool, damp air, then trotted towards The Crying Idol for a drink.

It surely had not been a long time since he had awoken. For a moment, he was tempted to stay within the confines of the birches. He knew it would be impossible, however. There was something telling him to continue forth. He departed slowly-he was certainly in no rush. He was not quite certain of his intentions-perhaps it would simply be best to venture to the pond and get a drink. The water there seemed clean enough.

The air around him seemed just the slightest bit chilly. It was a bit hard to tell, as his cloak shielded all but his kneecaps from any sort of wind. After some more wandering, he managed to the find an opening that led to the general vicinity of the pond. A stone structure had risen in front of him-he had seen it yesterday, though he did not intend to stop and investigate it now. He would have trotted past it, had another creature not appeared nearby.

He stopped rather quickly-he always did this around them. To his right stood the forest border; he would take his path on his journey downstream. He walked over to the treeline, eyes kept on the creature. His intent to avoid it did not diminish his curiosity.

This creature`s behavior was quite strange, to say the least. Why would it choose to sit down almost nonchalantly, when in front on him stood a hapless target? He had not the slightest idea. Perhaps it was no demon, but just a strange, otherworldly creature that humans had never seen?

His suspicions, however, skyrocketed at the mention of the creature`s name. Lucipher...it sounds like...far too close... Had the Devil himself come to question him? He had quite a hard time believing it. He was just one mere mortal, after all, powerless against those who reigned in other realms. It seemed as if the creature had a nickname as well. Luke. It sounds far better...

For a moment he felt like reeling back, and letting the sheer confusion overcome him. He was at an utter loss as to what was occurring, and had a feeling that he would never know. It was useless-utterly useless. Yet the creature had asked him a question.

My name.

He did, of course, have a name-yet he hesitated to tell Luke of it. It was, however, for the reasons in which one would suspect. Had he been in a realm unlike this, would he have confidently revealed it? He was not even certain of that.

He lowered his head, just slightly. His breath whistled through the enclosed space of his mask, and beneath it, two eyes closed.

"My name....is....Vector."

He opened his eyes, glancing at the creature. "If I may ask, Luke...do you live here? Or...have you come from somewhere else?" While his voice kept the same monotone key it had since the commencement of this strange conversation, a close listener might notice just the slightest bit of curiosity present.

Just curious, is he in forest now? ^^

The human world...
?!

He had been correct. He spoke rather quickly now, though his voice remained the same. "So this is a different realm, then..."

It was surely a bad idea to question this creature. After all, it could simply be bluffing. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, there was perhaps something telling him that this was not the case. Yet it would take a long time before those convictions ever came to light, would it not?

"I do not. As to how I came to be here, I do not know." He shook his head a bit, attempting to summon up some recollection of the link between the...mortal? human? world and this realm. There was only bright, fleeting flashes of light to be witnessed, however. "Did you come here of your own accord?

Yes, you did!

By mistake...

Was it possible? He`d never heard of a realm like this before, and it seemed highly unlikely that he awoken in this place by mistake. But this creature....perhaps it was possible for him to have wandered here by mistake. Was it possible for demons to transverse different realms? He attempted to think back to his earlier teachings. Yes...of course they could intrude into the mortal world, yet..

"Many worlds, you say... He was attempting to contemplate it, though it seemed impossible. There was only a finite number of realms, surely. Perhaps this demon was putting lies into his head in an attempt to sway him? He was uncertain. Still, the things Luke was saying were unlike anything he had heard before-or at the very least, had been told he would hear.

"Your...home. Forgive me for prying, but...was it like this place? You...mentioned different worlds."

The things Luke was saying were confusing-yet, they made sense in an odd sort of way. He has not referred to himself as a demon...yet... Perhaps this was a different sort of demon, that traveled the mortal world? He had mentioned something called a "species." Of what that meant, Vector was not quite certain. Perhaps that was what demons referred to themselves as?

"Similar? I...see." How strange. Were Luke really a demon, surely his world must have the way it was described in the mortal world? Miserable and hellish...yet it did not seem so, unless he, was of course, deceiving him. "It is fine. I prefer to remain standing. He did not want to be caught in a trap yet.

"You mention that this...world...is far more peaceful than your own. Does that mean that conflict occurred often in yours?" If he could get more information from Luke, perhaps he could discern where he truly hailed from.

It wasn`t heaven, but still far from hell.

Though Luke`s dialect was still a bit hard for Vector to understand, this particular quote served as a clear message. Not heaven, yet not hell... There were a few places like this, yes. The moral world-or as Luke had called it, the human world-among a few others. How strange...was it possible? Did such worlds exist?

There was no time to think about it. Luke had asked him a question-something which he would rather odd. If he were truly a demon, then surely he would have observed his experiences in the mortal realm? There was no avoiding the question, however.

"I...come from the mortal realm. A land that looked just a bit similar to this, but....there were significant differences, as well. Many of the things you see here-these strange shrines and stones-do not exist in my world." It felt odd, saying this. Still, he hoped he had given just enough information to sate the other`s curiosity-though he had a feeling he would need to explain himself further.

Her lips sunk into the tears of the idol, enjoying the cool water that came forth. Her ears twitched at a nearby sound, and the scent of another had reached her. She thought nothing of it. Perhaps it was just another who wanted a drink as well. After finishing, she rose her head and scanned the area, only to catch a glimpse at someone watching her from the tree line. Maybe they were afraid to come out to drink, or perhaps a predator? She did not know, but she didn't like the fact that they were watching her. She called out to the figure, "Best you come from the shadows. You are only making yourself look suspicious."

Horror etched her face as the stag stepped forth. That all too recognizable beaked mask sending flashbacks through her mind. Nika had died of the plague, but before that had happened encountered many plague doctors, most she had met were second rate doctors, and some stole right from their patients. Though, not all were bad; some she had been assisting were very kind and tried their best to help the sick, but the doe personally was not cared for one when she caught it.
"What are you doing here?" she asked with fear lacing her words. She took a few steps back. "Tell me!" she demanded.

Her eyes looked him over. If he did not know why he was here, then there must not be an outbreak of the plague here. She bowed politely, "I am sorry for my outburst. You made me fear that the plague had reached this forest." The saint took a few steps closer, "Please, forgive me."

Nika nodded, "Yes, the plague." The saint's large, attentive ears picked up on the change in his voice. She stepped closer to him, "Some beings enter this forest through death, are born here, or enter this world through portals."

Sorry for taking so long to respond, went out for dinner.

He was not quite certain how to respond to what the other creature had just said. He had never heard of such things before. In fact, there was a brief moment where he was tempted to ask her what she had just said. Yet he knew had heard her correctly.

One of his first thoughts would be that she, perhaps, was some of creature attempting to deceive him. Yet would reason have she? She certainly did not carry the look of a demon, though he was aware they came in many different forms.

Still, there was something about her that seemed almost familiar. Perhaps her words were genuine, unless she herself had driven prey to this strange world. "So...this is an afterlife of some sort, then? Yet I seem to have to taken a different form...I have never heard of such a thing happening before." He glanced around. "You mentioned something called a...portal. May I ask what that is?" The more he could discover about this place, the better.

The things Luke was saying certainly were not comforting. It fact, it did not make much sense to him. He was certain that he had been here for only a few days. How could the world have changed so quickly? The notion of it made him more than a bit skeptical. [i[Unless...[/i]

There were more pressing questions to be addressed, however.

"Were you, like, a doctor or something like that? You seem to be."

"I...was." He turned around briskly, purposefully keeping his eyes on the forest. "For sometime, I was."

After a long pause, he finally sat down. His cloak billowed around him, before once again returning to its former position.

"In a way, but yet it is not entirely, plague doctor," Nika said, her fierce hazel eyes looking over his mask. The doctor seemed harmless, and even if he had intent on hurting her she was more than capable of defending herself. "A portal is an entryway into another realm," she said, "Some here have found ways to enter the human realm, as well as other realms, through portals." The saint stepped closer to the stag. "And forgive me, I have forgotten my manners. I am Nika. And what might your name be?"
