Rain

Rain

Misty gray black skies
Jagged flashing light
Roaring, rolling sound
Gusting wind pushes
Trees sway and swish round
Anticipation
Cleansing waters flow
Parched ground drinks it in
Comfort while storm grows
Wind steadies and moans
Climax has arrived
Relaxation starts
Water now subsides
World is birthed renewed

Hm. This is really nice: the imagery's very strong, which is something that I really like to see in other people's poetry.

It was an exercise in

It was an exercise in creativity to relax my mind. I write advertisement blurbs, and Seo writing for a living among other things. The campaign as we call it had an immense amount of constraints which the rebellious Irish person in me said I shall overcome in an unexpected way. I gave them what they wanted but not in the way they wanted and it turned out extremely interesting and creative, but my brain had that burning feeling so I came here and switched over to freedom and Texas got rain so I commemorated it with 5 rhythm imaginary poetry lines. I felt better after that. LOL I sense you do a lot writing as well. Thanks for the compliment and I did love the ORDER poem. Ha!

I know the feeling: I do a lot of writing myself, but as a student, it's usually not the writing I really want to do. I'm really more of a fiction writer, but when I started playing TEF, I was doing a lot more poetry for school and wanted the practice, and it was more 'in my head,' so to say... So I end up writing poems from the perspective of my character here as an exercise. I find it's a good idea to have a steady outlet, so I play TEF, write poems and diaries, and do some Let's Plays here and there.

And you're welcome: I really do think your effort turned out quite nice.

I am working on moving into

I am working on moving into children's fiction. Got invited to a special institute and received a mentor writer who has won Horn Awards for her work. I am looking forward to that. I find whatever I am writing on at the time spills into my other activities. I, too, have it "in my head" and it will insist of having an outlet so I totally understand what you are saying. I like the way the poem turned out--it evoked exactly what I wanted it to. Smiling)

Anyway since you are a writer by nature, and a student I will give you a possible way to earn some extra cash and develop your writing. There is a place called CopyPress.com and they are always looking for writers. The writing is SEO blogs on various topics to start with and the pay is at different levels. You have an editor to guide you and it would be great on a resume for when you write that first fiction novel of yours besides they are a great group of people to work for. I think you would fit right in. Smiling
