Kingslea is a Dream Reader, a Child, a Deer, a Taniwa, a Researcher, a Boy, a Man, a Demon, a Daydreamer, an Interrupter and an Annoying Little Git.
But how can such a small person be all of these at once? With the power of dreams.
Life for Kingslea is a dream. It is filled with dreams, so many dreams that he cannot tell if he is actually awake. Or just dreaming.
Deer
As a deer, (or fawn to be more appropriate) Kingslea is slightly... In your face. He's attracted by large crowds, which he wanders aimlessly into without thought. Although he is more a pacifist than anything, he does like play fighting. If he is on his own he rests near the Twin Gods statue.
Taniwa
Kingslea is a Taniwa, and therefore isn't technically human. Based on the idea of the Taniwha (pronouced Tan-ee-fah; a mythilogical water beast that can either be seen as a guardian or a threat), the Taniwa are protectors of their land. There are little differences to taniwa and humans, and most are mainly in beliefs. The taniwa are very natural, they worship many Gods and have many rules to 'stop developing'; to ensure that they cannot create pollution and damage the world. Taniwa and humans have had many wars though only the the Taniwa's home island (ingeniously named Taniwa also). This has lead Kingslea to hate the humans severly.
Dream Reader
A holy status in the Taniwan religion, the dream reader reads dreams from skulls. A job once played by strange animals in taniwan tribes, it is now common to find a dream reader in every settlement. The job can only be done by a man, chosen by spirits and the wise woman. Dream reading doesn't show a true purpose, it doesn't enable the person to see anything. Just read old dreams. To pass time when not reading dreams, another role is helping the people of the village with advice and such, like a human vicar or priest.
Demon
Kingslea's mind is haunted by the spirit of a demon of imagination. Kingslea has dubbed this spirit Indigo, though she makes it very clear her name is Ghosthorse, and she plays a large part in his thinking. In times of serious need, Indigo with control his mental and physical form. In the day Indigo's spirit is fast asleep in the corner of his mind. Once thought to be invincible because of the demon of imagination's ability to change in many ways by imagining, even going as far as changing the scene, it has long since proven that imagining takes up a lot of energy (depending on the change imagined) and over using this power would knock them out of consciousness so all the demons out there have to limit themselves. At night, Indigo takes control of Kingslea's brain whenever she feels.
