Hey guys, as i said i am completely new to this and i have a few questions:
do u really recognize each other with the signs over your heads? or did you get used to the uniqe style of every deer after some time of playing? do you change your looks often? i've played for maybe 4 hours and there are 3 deers i would be able to recognize next time, and its more because their signs look conspicuous (are completely round or squared etc). are there always the same players online or does this change often? i'm also unsure because of time, i am from europe and i dont know how many people play at the endless forest and how users change with time of the day
do you interact here a lot or is it more in the game? i was surprised that so many players were idle. is this for a special reason? do you use it as screensaver?
lot of questions, maybe you can answer me one or two of them, would be nice!
greetings,
lactamaeon
I recognize people with both,
I do, yes. ^^ I love wearing lots of sets. Though my characters tend to stay in the same sets so people recognize them and so on.
It changes often, though people have patterns of when they play. I, for example, happen to play generally late at night. (:
There tend to be more people on during the afternoon (pacific--eastern time, America).
Both. (: It really depends. Sometimes I interact both here and on TEF at the same time. >u<
People tend to sleep a lot, especially as it's late at night around here. People are more active in the afternoon or late morning. I also tend to not focus on TEF and sometimes am doing things in other windows, letting my deer fall asleep. c:
Welcome to TEF, by the way! Such interesting questions, it's good to see somebody so curious about the game. ^^
Hellohello and welcome! 8D As
As for your questions, you pretty much use pictos to find where other deer are. Though once you become aware of certain deer and their appearances then you just use them as a way to get to them from long distances. Some change their looks, so keep a permanent style based on the character they play c:
The Gods (AKA creators) change the time of day for special occasions, also weather and stuff. It's completely at random, though most of the time it's perpetual sunlight.
A little of both depending on the player. You can use the forest as a screensaver or a means to interact or both. It doesn't really matter either way as long as you have fun~
Edit; ffffff Ocean ninja'd me ;n;
Wahaha, Ginger, I win~ -ninja
-ninja phase out-
I'm new to the game as well.
I couldn't really find a look that suited me at first. Then I found one that was fairly decent, but I ended up sticking with the DotD event pelt simply because the admin casted it on me. lol Yeah I'm a geek for finding it more special that way.
I picked my name because it looked like a butterfly to me. LOL I think it's recogniseable, but i don't know if anyone would recognize it.
I think the people who sleep a lot probably do use it as a screensaver. I tend to do this sometimes as well. Although I'm usually not on as long as them. o_O;
I try and use pictograms
As for sets, it depends on the deer, I have two that are set-fluid and others that aren't.
There are always different and same people on, it depends on what time it is, if people are busy, what deer they have in, etc.
I do both, in and out of forest, I'm a writer though, I like RP.
A lot of people draw or surf the web while in forest so there's a lot of idle-ness going on, plus it's relaxing.
Thanks for your answers! I
I think its difficult with sets because a lot of deers look similar (and a bit scary
I was always online when it was night here, and as far as I know, in America it is 6 hours earlier in general, but everytime i played it was dark at the forest. Was wondering about that, if there was sometimes sun and light there, too
Wish I could idle, but when i minimize the game or start it windowed and click on it again, it crashes
Also like that there is no chat. Couldn't imagine it with chat. I like not having to talk (the human way
And I am surprised that so many people play it. When I told a few friends about it, they all were like: Pfff, you can just act like a deer? Nothing else?
Think it's like watching an aquarium.
Today I found out how to "use" the idle players
What does DotD mean? Who is the admin? I find it difficult to find deers willing to change my pelt and stay willing until I found one I really want to keep
Oh, it's not always night,
I did play The Path; it's one of my favorite games. <3 ToT makes incredible games.
Yes, I loved discovering all about spells. ^^
Dotd= Day of the Dead or Day of the Deer.
The Gods count as the admins, though they're not always here (often developing games and so on). Their names are Michael and Aureia.
If you ever need anything for a set, just ask. People are generally willing to help with sets around here.
Ohyeah, minimizing crashes
DotD refers to the Day of The Dead set, AKA the grinning mask, skeleton pelt and blackish antlers with the blue knobs on the end. You can get them by having someone with an older version of the game cast them on you c:
And we pretty much govern ourselves. No admin or anything~
Glad you're enjoying it~ :'D<
Ocean; B[ You're stealing my thunder, wummun
