Question about being faithful...

Hey guys, I have a little dilemma and need a lot of advice before i do something that i shouldn't.

I'm thinking about Quad finding a new mate. I think he has someone who is interested but I'd hate Mazey to come back and find out he left her. I left her a message on MSN about it but Quad's been really faithful (not participating in the rut, not pursuing other does [even though he says he's a doe magnet], ect.) but I feel like he's been alone in the Forest long enough.

I know Mazey has been really busy, she does a lot of artwork on Deviantart and I'm sure she's going to go on Feral Hearts when it gets released (she played on IT for a while). I just wish I had a good answer for this, I feel like a jerk asking her permission if Quad could mate another deer.

What do you guys think? Am I being a jerk or do you think Quad should be allowed to find another mate?

Mazey responded and said the following:

"hey quad, im happy that quad can move on, i send my regards and hope his new relationship works out well, mazey will still be quad friend and ill still care about you no matter what <3"

So I guess Quad is single now.

I think this is something you need to wait until Quad tells you what he wants. I know you're close enough with your characters that you'll be able to listen.

Maybe, ask her if she ever plans to come back? and warn her that if she doesn't you'll let quad take another?

I've left her the message on MSN, but I haven't seen her on it in a while. I'm sure she'll open it up eventually, I guess I'm just impatient for an answer now.

It's a really tough decision. Heck, Quad and Mazey have children (although they're played by both of us Eye ). That's another factor in this.

Sigh...I think I have a decision in mind but I just don't know how to deal with it, you know?

Hmm, I agree with Tera about listening to Quad's needs. As well, I think you should look at things from a human perspective: if Mazey isn't going to come back, then Quad needs to be able to move on with his life. He can still have the memories of her, and the children, but if he falls in love again, is it really such a bad thing?

I went through a similar

I went through a similar thing with Scape, except in that case, I had no way of contacting the player of the other deer. They just vanished from the face of the internet. So after so many months went by (they were supposed to return after two months), I let Scape at least start to move on, and even develop crushes, but he was understandably reluctant to act on them.
I'm happy Scape was able to move on, because if he hadn't, he wouldn't have taken notice in Zerg. ;]

I agree that you need to focus on what your character tells you. Does Quad feel the need to move on?
His situation is different from Scape's, definitely, since Scape's first relationship never resulted in fawns. They weren't together long enough.

Basically, I have nothing to tell you that no one else has said already. (And typed more than I thought I would. ^^; )

I think Quad's been kind of lonely, so yeah, I do feel like he needs to move on. Thanks everyone, I'm glad that you all have the same general feelings about this as I do.

Mazey responded today, so Quad is officially single.
