I'll reserve this post for anything to do with the Buster horn situation, for any that are interested.
Current state: coming along nicely!
Hopefully shearing time soon! I'll post more when that happens. The boys look quite different after the wool comes off.
Still no shearing yet. To
I was working on the visual synthesiser today and definitely thinking of the forest. Need to get back in one of these nights, I'm missing it.

Back in the forest today
Today was the hottest day in the UK so far this year, and also SHEARING DAY at last! So glad to get my boys out of their winter coats! And as promised here are a couple of pics of our boy Buster with his new haircut.
Coming for his first post-shearing skritchies. With all that itchy wool gone you can skritch the entire surface of the sheep freely. This causes the sheep to melt into a puddle of bliss <3. (That's his pal Lucky sitting in the grass to the left).
Here you can see his new streamlined appearance and the beauty of his wonderfully asymmetric horns <3

In all the years I have lived
Deer in my bottom field. Has been coming back every evening for a few days now. They are welcome to stay, not like the sheep don't have enough grass!
(Pic a bit rubbish but it was taken from a long distance, deer is really shy and we don't want to flighten them away).

We're doing ok thanks,
Actually there has been a bit of horn-related trouble. Buster's "rogue" horn grew in such a way that it started to curl back into his face and got to the point where it was beginning to touch on his eyelid.
We had hoped it would just miss, but when it was clear it wouldn't we had to get the vet out to cut a piece off the end of his horn.
We're hoping it will grow out a bit further this time, but we'll be keeping an eye on it as it continues to grow, and we may be able to keep it in check by occasionally filing it, or if necessary have another chunk taken off by the vet. We don't want to amputate his entire horn as that is a bit of a procedure (and anyway we love both his horns!) but in the end whatever is best foir him is what we will do.
Our little deer visitor continues to stop by, here they are just yesterday evening:
Little antlers like twigs! So cute! The deer was watching us but didn't run away. I'm happy they feel safe visiting us and they are welcome any time
Visual synth has been a hobby of mine for many years, it's good fun. It's all live graphics and you can control it with a panel of knobs and sliders like an audio synth. It can generate stuff entirely locally, or you can input literal textures (like the deer silhouette in these images), or even video, for it to operate on.
These are just the texture generation section, it can also generate geometry and you can even throw on a VR headset and create stuff all around you by waving your arms around lol.
I can't draw worth a damn but I still get to have a bit of visually creative fun in my own way
And I will be back in the forest soon!
