...how you guys would feel if you could buy small, personalized replicas of your deer's masks?

--Also, how would you guys feel about busts? Or sculpted heads? o_O I know that has the possibility of appearing morbid, but that's not my intention. Not a...trophy head, but more of a token/memorial/honorable sort of head. Think greek bust, perhaps. Or for the heads without necks, perhaps hung on leather strips.
I do love sculpting deer heads, and would like to try humans, but anything from the neck down gets a bit tricky. So.
Just curious to see if anyone would be interested in something like that as well.
I think that's a wonderful
That is the best idea ever. I
Oh wow, cool. *thumbs
For...information sake, I'm talking like palm sized. Not wearable, but just some cute little trinket.
Would looove to buy a mini
It would make a lovely key-ring.
^ same. I'd love one.
I would so get a tiny orca
Oh definitely yes!
Definitely.
You guys are awesome. *skip
*skip off to prepare prototypes*
Sounds awesome. n_n
A tiny bump because I have
The mask thing is
Both neat ideas.
A bust would be awesome.
All Pathes Eventually Cross
Both are really cool ideas.
Definitely interested, either or.
Ooh definitly yes for both!
Oh goodness yes, I love
Now a little head sculpt
Thanks for the feedback you
@Misako:
I haven't, actually! I started sculpting last night, but I've got something next to me all finished and fired...kinda sloppy and I'm not crazy with the result but...here's my test:
Obviously no references used. 8| And I need to do some tutorials on how to smooth sculpey, but...yep. That's what I've got.
It seems like a cute idea,
You just started last night?
That looks pretty amazing to me.
*highfive for Tera* I bet
If you ever do make one, be sure to post it, ey?
Whaaa, thank you Sight~ oo
*highfive* :'D I will be
I will be sure to share it if I do, though I know I won't be as quick as you! One day's work is amazing! 8|
Ooh! I was wondering! That
Ah, I'm sure you can find something on that. I use fimo and someone at school tipped me turpentine works for smoothing, but it actually dissolves the surface so you need to be really careful. Not sure how it'd work on sculpey really. I've just bought myself a package for my next doll, but yeah XD Soon.
Yes, I'd like to see something from you too Tera! I do like sculpting myself but just as with drawn commissions, others their interpretation is just so interesting. And you made me wonder what it'd be like to make a poseable doll and have someone else sculpt the head for example.. Some sort of collaboration, but now I'm just thinking. XD
Tera- 8| Ohpft, I was bored
8| Ohpft, I was bored out of my mind and definitely on some kind of high. I tried it again today, and the skull did NOT come as quickly as that first one did. xD
'Sides man. B| Take your time. It'll turn out better.
Misako-
Awh, thanks. 'Monster skull' sums it up nicely- I've been trying to explain to several people that it's really not modeled after any certain kind, just has pieces of skulls that I've come to like. |D As for symmetry, you're so right... I'm actually kind of happy with how it almost looks so. Did this once before, and it was definitely difficult.
Now, turpentine...I believe I heard that somewhere as well. Though as you said, yes, sculpey is a little different. Almost like plastic, rather than clay. I hope you end up liking it- I know I did. So, so smooth and light. I tried a bit of standard clay in the past, but it was so heavy it would collapse on itself.
Awesome... o:
