But You Drove Me Insane.
He was laughing at her again. The sound bounced off of the trees and resounded in her ears, over and over. He was cackling and giggling, and she could do nothing about it. She was crushed into the grass by heavy boulders on her thin wrists and ankles, and still he was laughing madly.
"Please! Please, Davita, they'll get me!" She begged, large black eyes staring into his. Out of all the members of their race, Davita was the only one that had ever changed his appearance and kept it that way. He had adapted it to an earth-creature's body, for only he had ever seen one. The other creatures retained their natural forms. Davita smirked.
"It's your own fault," He leered, red hair glinting in the light from the sunset. "You just never listened to me. Wouldn't cooperate, and we know I don't like that." His gaze was suddenly angry. "You're just like the rest of them, whispering behind my back, like I don't see you, hear you..." Long-fingered hands balled into fists and he paced, staring at the struggling female on the ground. Their planet was so similar to Earth, in some ways...
"Davita, I'll die, they'll kill me!" His sister sobbed. "Please, please...Let me go and I'll listen to you, I-I'll help you go wherever you want to go, b-back to that blue planet if you want to, please!"
The red-haired one shook his head, chuckling darkly. "No." And he began to walk backwards into the shadow as darkness fell, eyes glinting.
"Why are you hurting me?!" She wailed at him, but he was gone, and the ground was opening up beneath her, beasts with jaws twice her size opening up to swallow her whole...
Davita opened his mismatched eyes, staring at the white ceiling. The alarm clock rung on, irritating the life out of him, and he switched it off quickly with a sigh. He'd broken into a cold sweat, probably from the distant dream of a memory. An annoyed scowl. I don't care. I never cared about her, no. Me, noone else. Me. The mansion was still unfamiliar and huge as he hurried down the stairs. But then there's her...
He growled, seeing her standing in the livingroom, staring at a faded photograph of a patchwork quilt.
"What are you doing here?" Davita asked coldly, tottering on his heeled boots for a moment, hands on his hips. The black-haired woman turned her head slightly.
"This is technically still my house, Davita. And I have to take care of Quintin."
"Quintin?"
"The tentacle fawn." She sighed, putting the photograph back on the mantlepiece. "And I--"
"You do realise they'll grow tired of you, don't you Danila?" Davita tilted his red-haired head slightly, raising an invisible eyebrow. Gold eyes stared confusedly at him.
"What?"
"Your new friends," He smiled coldly. "They'll get sick of you. They'll cast you away just like everyone else has..." He walked over, heels clicking on the wooden floor, and ran a finger along the dusty photograph. "I'm all you have. All you'll ever have." Danila seemed to be at a loss for words - but her eyes were filled with tears. "I took you in and I set you free and I have been the one that's really been taking care of you!" His voice rose dramatically, his own eyes flashing in rage.
She stared at the other creature. What was he talking about? Tuna and Masque were her friends now, they took care of her and made her laugh and smile...
"But they--" Danila started, only to be interrupted again.
"They don't know! How many times have you come crying to me, had me help you?!" Davita raged at her, beautiful in his anger, but terrifying.
INCOMPLETE; never finished.
