The Oak Guardian ..Roleplay Please.

Bayleen's picture
One sunset evening, the sun was low in the sky. The sky was painted in its warm colors of orange, pink, and a very light purple. The Oak Guardian was lying outside of the Great Oak. She sighed with contentment as she gazed at the beautiful sky that bathed the forest in its golden light.

She looked at the flowers that she had decorated around the Oak. Though they were in full bloom, their petals stretched and swayed in the breeze, wanting and pleading for her warm breath. So, the dark red doe touched and breathed on each puff-like flower, as if she were kissing them all goodnight. They shuttered by her warm touch and their bright yellow petals seemed to glow. Once she had tended to all of the tiny flowers surrounding the Oak, she overlooked her work. Glowing yellow flowers dotted the ground. They seemed exceptionally bright since the sky seemed to ever so slightly darken. The pale purple color seemed to begin to cover the pink hues of the sunset light.

The red doe trotted to a nearby tree, reared up and kicked at the tree a few times. Then, a pinecone fell from the tree. Using her hooves, she broke open the pinecone and got to the core where there were seeds. The dark brown, small, seeds were then strewn on the ground. She scooched them in a pile and began to like the seeds up. They made a good, evening snack. Once she was done eating, she went back to the entrance to the Oak and resumed her post there as the Oak Guardian.

A small and trembling paper

A small and trembling paper mask watched the doe’s work from the shallow, large divot between the Oak and the Pond. It was crudely cut and colored but appeared to be intended as the face of a smiling cartoon frog. At first the mask appeared to be trembling on its own, but as it moved closer, there were glimpses of a body—shimmering like water, flashing like television screen—that appeared very typical of a fawn’s, with dark brown fur (quite possibly flecked with some sort of lighter colored pattern) and a large mess of curly black hair.

The image of the fawn, along with its mask, inched closer while the doe was finishing her work with the flowers but stopped short a few yards when she kicked out at the tree. Its ears (at least they were assumed to be ears; it was all very hard to tell) flattened back and the body followed suit by laying down and pressing itself as closely to the earth as it could.

It gave a small whimper.

The doe was on the verge of falling asleep. Her head tilted back and then snapped forward again at the soft sound that she heard in the late evening. Her ears arched forward. "Hmm..?"

She got to her hooves. "Hello?" She had a hard time making out the other deer in her presence, but she did know it was a fawn. She took a few hoofsteps closer, her head turning left and right to make out the tiny being. "Are you a fawn? Can you talk?"

It hunkered down closer to the ground as soon as the words floated from her mouth. The mask began to tremble harder as does an autumnal leaf in the chilled wind. "I-I don't know," it said in the voice of a little boy talking through what sounded like a gritty, old telephone. "Whenever I try to see myself, all.. a-all I can see is my mask."

The small mask with the curly hair raised and the voice became thickened with the threat of tears. "Am I dreaming? I think.. think I am but whenever I try to see myself, I can-can't see myself a'cept for this mask I m-made.. a-and" Solid tears leaked from the absent space of its eyes and either dripped to the ground or soiled the paper on its face. "I don't know where I am!"

The fawn shape contorted itself momentarily in such a manner that seemed like it was not used to its own body while it began to whimper and cry most pitifully. It slowly got up and trudged towards her with the solid tears still rolling down its not-there body and leaving stains on its mask.

The red doe was so unsure

The red doe was so unsure what to do. She was never good with fawns, and she was never in a situation where a fawn sort of...just broke down on her.

She walked towards the fawn. She bent her neck once she was eye-level with the little fawn. "Don't cry," she said. "Or...or else you'll make me cry Smiling Just...come in the tree. It's warm. Lie down."

A noticeable change came over

A noticeable change came over the fawn image: the crying slowed notably, its body relaxed, and the mask tilted upwards to look at her as it gave a shuddering gulp against any further tears. “M-m-m-my doctor told.. told me that.. that its okay to cry, if you need to.” Its distant little voice gurgled a little from the crying. When she suggested that it go into the tree it leaned to look around her at the massive structure. “Warm in th-there?” It sniffled loudly and then quickly turned back towards the red doe, the mask crinkling at the sudden movement. “..okay.. youre a deer so.. you know. You know thi-things like about trees and flowers..
Its focus shifted to the now glowing flowers as it moved towards the Oak hesitantly. The fawn image gulped as its mask turned this way and that ever so slowly, marveling at the darkness inside, the deep humming, the rich smell of the dirt beneath its hooves. “We dun-dun.. dont have trees like this at my house..

(WHY HELLO

(WHY HELLO <3)

A golden stag limped heavily from the pond. His wounds were just near to scabbing over, and the pain in his muscles was becoming intense.
He had no idea what came over him yesterday...That doe just grated on his nerves like hooves scraping on rock.

A bright red shape caught his intrest as he looked up to find a doe..which appeared to be eating a pinecone.
Eomer snorted as he watched her,he had never had a love for pinecones.Disgusting and way to crunchy.
He watched the doe walk lightly into the great oak that stood majesticly up ahead...How comfy te inside looked.Just the place to rest his aching muscles.
Hopefully the doe would'nt mind his company, and with that thought,Eomer limed up to the Oal Oak and stopped a few feet from the entrance. His eyes gleaming deep within his skull face with relief.

The doe quietly followed the little fawn inside. It seemed to flicker.

She lied down at the edge of it the walls of the wood inside the Oak. "Where do you live? Do you have any parents? Where do you come from?"

It was only after she asked the questions that she felt she was asking too many questions and bombarding the fawn with them. "Err...nevermind..."

The dark red doe nodded to him as he entered. She wasn't going to say anything until she noticed that he was limping.

"Oh," she said in a slightly shy voice. "You're limping...Would you like any help?"

The large stag stopped himself in front of the wide hollow.

"Greetings m'lady.....No no I can handle it,thanks" He snorted gruffly and headed to the far side of the hollow, wincing in pain as the foreleg he tried to tuck under his chest protested in a sting of pain.

"Alright...Mabye I would be...Glad of some help.." Eomer muttered, feeling his pride getting hurt somewhat by asking for help.He had been quite able to take care of himself back home...But here was diffrent he guessed.
Well,the doe seemed nice enough.
Eomer flicked up his ears and stared at the red female.

Auburn chuckled and rolled her eyes. Oh stags, she thought. Always full of unwavering pride. How silly that game can be.

The red doe stood up and walked out of the hollow and came back with some mossy, lush clusters. She knelt down in front of the stag and patched up the would with the fluffy moss. "There," she said. That should make it feel better.

There was a sound of electrical snapping and the fawn’s image appeared outside the Oak with only part of its paper mask coming into view while it stared at the stag that had joined them. Its focus remained locked onto the stag and his shining, golden pelt, intense eyes, and the skull. Its attitude had already been irked by the doe’s stream of questions that had poured out of her mouth seemingly with little causation and it seemed even more agitated by this newcomer.

Who are you?” Demanded the little voice in an unusually snippy manner. “Is that your FACE?” Although its face was obscured by its ever-changing visage, one could easily picture the look of disdain it must have.

Pathetic. Antler-less.
The doe mimicked the movement of the opposing buck, his build heavier, pulling him down. He side-stepped, she side-stepped. He lashed out with forelegs, she did as well.
Like the shadow mimicked the solid; And with that hesitated thought, she lept at him, hitting him with her dark, polished hooves.

The strike was merely a hit to the buck's antlers. He absorbed the blow; his head lifted, his nostrils flared, and he chuckled darkly. The doe paniced for a moment. She wasnt strong enough, antlerless doe. Pathetic.

The fight had started when the buck, the monster, had shoved her into the lake, a cruel prank that ended up backfireing, since she latched onto his leg at the last second before the water swallowed her up and pulled him down with her.
Her short, black and crimson hair was soaked, her sheep-skin vest was dripping. And the sleeves, her favorite black and red ones, had suffered the same.

At least she didn't get any water in her eyes, thanks to her yellow goggles.

But when the buck went down, his antlers managed to accidentaly hit the bottom, and a bit of the very point of his right antler had chipped off. He screamed at her, verbally molesting her brain, cursed, shouted, and she only replied with scilence, a quiet, melancholy calm. She appeared to not even listen. This passive behavior made it worse, so push came to shove, and shove turned to bloodlust.

The buck had her cornered at the side of a tree; her hooves crushed multiple fallen pine cones: The thick, sweet scent had blinded her momentarly, she choked, coughed, and the buck found this the perfect moment to charge.

Mediocre, she merely side-stepped his charge.
