Sun was urging to squeeze past the sickly gray clouds, and rain was lightly oozing from the thick brush hanging off the trucks of strong standing pines. The ground was soggy and broken up, mud was caked into the doe's white fur, which tinted her pelt into a messy dull brown, her eyes were gray, not bulging and outstanding with blazing white as usual. Her deep jet black tail was swirled into knots and had lost the glossy shine it always held. Everything about her dulled to a broken gray being.
It had been many days since the large, white demon had rambled his way into her sights. He had been suffocating her mind since the second he walked away. She scolded herself repeatedly for being foolish, letting her guard down too fast was dangerous, she always ignored her conscious and it was a very, very stupid choice. She hated herself for every action. Regret.
She was limp on the shore of the river, near the Crying Idol. Her body was sprawled across the thick mush, weeds tangled within her jewelry. She had felt a lump crawling up her throat, a scream, something so irresistible it was nearly impossible to swallow it back down, she wanted to yell her problems away, and wish for the nightmare to slither it's way out of her life, she wanted the sun to beat down on her again and fill her with the warming pulse in her veins again, it was so addicting. Getting a taste of it and then getting it all yanked away from your grasp was weakening. She felt the world crashing down on her. She was weakened, her mind was running on autopilot, and any moment one of her fathers familiars could strike.
And it will all be over.
OOC: Throwing Bela at her if
The vampire sat beneath the shadows of a pine beside the trickling river. He wasn’t sure why he decided to stay up for the day, perhaps the fact that it was cloudy could be the reason for it and that the danger of being burned wasn’t so high. Or it could be that he was missing the daytime; the vampire sometimes felt a great sadness when he couldn’t see or feel the warmth of the Sun, or meet deer when they were most active.
Sighing, he continued his observing of the sorry looking creature that had moved before him. The disheveled doe’s aura was dark, yet he saw flickers of light, and the edges of her aura were retracted to show broken heartedness. He had been deciding whether or not to risk exposure to the Sun to approach her because of her dark aura, but the glimmers and sadness he saw within made the ancient one’s soft heart want to approach.
And so he did.
The vampire rose, taking a glance at the sky; the Sun was well hidden behind the clouds, and he stepped forward toward her. His hoofsteps were near silent as he walked to the muddy shore of the river.
“Madame?” the vampire asked, lowering his head to her level as he made it beside her, “Are you alright?”
{ oh yes please ♥ }
~
She was starting to focus on the repeated beat of the river slamming against small stones, they washed over them and polished each one with a unique gloss, and color. It was until an unfamiliar voice lingered near her, she felt her heart leap into her throat from being startled, however, she remained a gloomy statue plastered to the grasses. She lifted her head slowly, angling it slightly to the curious acquaintance, she let her eyes wonder over his body, shifting limb from limb as she picked out his details.
“Who are you. Who sent you here.” the doe ordered, not letting a single chance slip by unnoticed. For all she knows, he could be working for her father. She couldn't help it. Her eyes were narrowed, keeping her gaze strict yet a little bit curious of the newcomer.
“I am Bela,” the vampire
The doe kept her eyes solid
The doe kept her eyes solid on his form, she slowly raised her brow scanning once more even more careful then the first time, his mixture of colors shone and danced, her eyes fluttered with fascination as she watched him, then she caught view of his sharp, deadly fangs piercing in his jowls. Right then... she could put the pieces together, he was definitely a vampire.
Her jaws separated slowly, her jet black tongue slicing through her silver strings of saliva, she let it hang out and move softly around as she took in his scent, even with it being days old, the terrifying truth crept up on her and into her mind. Sacrilege.
"You. You were the vampire who mauled S-sacrilege." She said, spitting the words out as if the left a bad taste in her mouth but her voice broke as she spoke his name. Saying Sacrilege maybe her chest cave in, and brought great pain inside her heart. She tried to keep her face frozen with anger, but tears swelled in her eyes. She tried to blink them away but they began flooding out nonstop. She felt her face reach a higher temperature from embarrassment, so she hid her face into her front legs, hoping the pain would subside.
”…mauled…” Not a very
The ancient one’s stoic face became one of pity when her tears spilled down her white cheeks. He had caught Sacrilege’s scent on her as well. That was really the reason why he was watching her, fearing that he beast had perhaps hurt this dark doe, and it seemed that his very name caused her pain.
Damn. How he hated that pale beast.
“There, there,” Bela said, sitting himself down beside Rosemary, the concern of the sun no longer in his mind. Only this weeping doe.
Rosemary kept her face buried
Rosemary kept her face buried where she thought was a safe location, her chest pumped up and down as she sobbed into her own fur, and she was quiet, only sighs were what could be heard. As the vampire rested down beside her, she lifted her head and gave him a shattered look. Her eyes were glossy and her cheeks stained with tears, her breaths were long, slow, and shaken. She was trying to gain calm attitude, but memories flooded her mind. She blinked her eyes for a long moment, and pinned her thick white ears as she opened her mouth slowly.
"I... I do apologize." she exclaimed, with her voice raspy and quiet. When Sacrilege left her, she was furious and took out all of her fire on trees or anything she could get her hands on, but now, with all the rage picked out from her being... she could only sob into her own fur and hope for happiness.
"I'm going through a tough time right now." she nodded opening her eyes again to the vampire. Deep down she still felt hostility toward the vampire for hurting Sac, so she still felt resentment toward him. But now, she didn't have it in her to start a brawl, besides, she knew she would lose. For now, she needed someone.
Anyone.
His undead heart sank as he
“Do not apologize,” Bela said, his pale lilac eyes looking at her teary ones. “Could this perhaps be because of Sacrilege?” the ancient one asked. He knew the mentioning of his name would most likely make her more upset, but if it was, it would give him all the more reason to tear the white demon apart.
The pale doe's lip twitched
The pale doe's lip twitched at his question, of course her depression formed because of the incident with the demon, but she still deeply cared for Sacrilege and having this powerful vampire tear his flesh apart again would only lead to deeper, darker, sadness.
"Yes." she coughed, her eyes pulsating with tears ready to explode from her eyes, but she forced herself to remain calm, like a child on their first day of school, "Yes... but I care. So... so much." she admitted, feeling her gut twist made vile crawl into her throat, but she immediately swallowed it down without much effort. The thought of her relying on Sacrilege so much made her feel sick, the stupid mistakes she made never taught her a good enough lesson. It made her furious with herself, and made her extremely unforgiving.
She shuffled slightly as her tears slowly began to drift. Sadness remained clear as day over her face, but she was calmer and easier to speak to by now.
"Look, I can't have you holding anything more against Sacrilege, you'll make things worse for you... and I" she sighed, nodding off into the distance. "I have enough to deal with right now." she added, looking off into the forest, her blood began to pump faster at any sudden sounds, and her muscles would tense with a soft growl rumbling in her throat.
Ohh, I hope you don't mind
--
Some time during the night before, the Folklore had placed herself high up on one of the ruin walls and now she walked scot-free of any dirt or mud. The cold had been unforgiving, and even now the ground made spindles of pain run up her legs. She needed warmth; the sun. A clearing would do, but with the amount of slush on the ground, the grass was a no-no. If there was any grass, anyways.
A boulder would be just as good. The ones within the playground that fawns frequinted. On a day like this, however, with its dark sky and rather miserable feel, Märchen had a feeling there would be less fawns and even less sun. Her disgruntled snort was more for the latter than the former.
It was the wail that halted her in her saunter. Ears turning toward the tree line that would give away to the clearing before the pond. A cry? For what reason? The skull raised her head, nose hole taking in the scents of not only that of the living, but those of things unseen. Wisps and ids, things that had become relevant over the days of being here. Of being alive.
Her gait picked up as she turned her body in the direction of the disturbance, taking on a hunter's pace as she loomed through the brush and into the open. Eyes trailing downward to pick up on the lone, white figure near the base of the pond. Well, it seemed to be mostly white other than the mud caking its limbs. It wasn't until further inspection did she notice it was female, and the id this one gave off was rather dull in color. There were no wounds that she could see however, so that left her only guess to be that it was something deeper. Something inside.
"Mmm, you don't look so good," she commented, looming over the other as her eyes looked over the doe's frame. The tips of her muzzle clicked softly as teeth were ground.
The vampire almost raised a
“I have encountered beings far more dangerous than Sacrilege, so he does not concern me,” Bela said. The vampire even found a way to conquer the Sun for a short time. His pale eyes glanced at the sky once more before looking back down at the doe.
“It seems to me,” he started, “That you care for him, yet he does not return it.” His serpentine neck lowered his head to her level, “Why fret over a creature with no love or compassion for others?”
@Charrusekt: Rosemary was
Rosemary was slightly startled by the others voice, creeping over her. She slowly turned her head and rose to her hooves, tipping slightly but regaining her balance immediately. Pain throbbed into her shoulder, but she didn't react much, once pain swung around she would just sigh or feel her lip twitch.
She felt a draw to the others appearance, the mixture of colors made her feel a chill crawl up her spine which made her shiver slightly.
The white doe felt her mouth separate slowly, and her long black glossy tongue slipped elegantly from her jowls while long silver lines of saliva snapped and elasticated back into her chops. She gradually took in the females scent, it was a fresh captivating aroma, she felt goosebumps grow on her skin as she locked in the pleasant odor.
She trapped her prickly dark tongue and felt misery creep over her once again. But with every new encounter, she never had the best manners.
"Who are you. Who sent you here." she spat, with her eyes digging into the others before drifting off into the background, gazing for any of her fathers demons.
She had gotten into the habit of asking everyone such a blunt question since Sacrilege left.
@NikaGika:
She felt almost a dash of relief once he explained he had no interest in Sacrilege. She nodded her head off as she listening to the vampire speak, her dull eyes were locked onto hiss soft lilac ones; what beautiful eyes he had it was easily her first impression.
Once he continued, she felt her heart drop into her stomach, tears tried climbing into her eyes but she forcefully blinked them away, it made her believe that she was just being used by the demon, once she deeply thought about it, it made sense. It hit her like a tone of bricks.
"You're right, I'm a stupid, foolish girl. How could I be so blind?" she spat, snarling to herself. "Look, I don't know what happened, he made me believe he felt what I did, we made a deal, he broke it. God dammit!" she hissed and shook her head repeatedly hoping the thought would fall out of her head completely.
“Do not beat yourself up,”
His hate for the demon grew. That creature’s been meddling with this doe’s life, her heart. Was this the companion he was talking about? Were there others? This demon either had to be run out, or killed.
The folklore's head twitched
Normally a little awkward standing with the female gender, Märchen took no hesitation to speak to this one. Though she made sure not to look at her because it helped. Instead, she'd trail her eyes along the waters of the shore as she said in a matter-of-fact tone, "No 'one' sent me. I move on my own..." A pause. "Why is it that you wail?" Once her eyes glanced into the other's before looking around once again. It was a force of habit. To always watch your back in an open area. Wasn't it?
She thought so. It was also an excuse, but there wasn't any need to discuss her reasons.
@NikaGika: He was completely
@NikaGika:
He was completely right. However, Rosemary did hold the blood of a demon within her veins, but she didn't feel any offense to such a comment over her kind. Sacrilege was full demon, she sensed there was a heart under all of his dark layers but once she chipped through he felt insecure. Maybe that's why he left. Was he scared? What of? Questions flooded her mind.
She shuffled again, smiling sheepishly as the other nuzzled her, she pressed her nose to his cheek in thanks and then gazed off into the background. If Sacrilege were to see her with the vampire, she was sure a fight would break loose, which was something she dreaded. Not only was she looking for the demon, but she always kept her eyes peeled for any unwanted visitors such as her fathers little puppies.
"You know what, you're helping" the white doe paused, her eyes falling to her hooves "Thanks, but enough about me. Why are you here?" she asked her eyes still plastered down.
@Charrusekt:
Rose sensed the other growing uneasy, her hackles raising only brought a small grin on the doe's face. She 'raised her brow' as the other answered her blunt question, she tilted her skull slightly as she studied the doe's body again.
"Good. We wouldn't want any trouble." she said, narrowing her eyes into hers not completely believing the female. But she never believed anyone.
She felt her throat throb again, tears itching from behind her eyes, she was trying so hard to keep her mind off from Sacrilege but he came back like an unwanted bug. Invading her head.
Rose shunned her eyes from the other as she followed the streams waters into the pond, swishing and crashing into rocks and logs.
"Demons." she spat, seeming almost angry toward the river. Her shoulder pulsed with pain again, she closed her eyes tight hoping for the pain to subside again.

The vampire watched her in
"I am glad," the vampire said. He truly hoped he helped Rosemary. "And to be quite honest, I was observing you. I scented Sacrilege upon you, and I thought I would check upon your well being."
.
Only when the other looked
She was free now.
"Demons?" she asked, almost amused. "In such a peaceful looking forest." It was sarcasm, really. Forest or not, nature is by it's very nature, chaotic. She doubted there was true peace anywhere. The jump in the other's id called for her attention as she took up a spot nearby. Not too close, but not too far away either.
Her bony muzzle poked into the ground as she spoke. "I kid, of course. Though perhaps if I told you I hadn't seen or felt anything along the way here, would that make things easier for you? I do not feel anything now, either." Once more she cast a precarious glance toward the woodland. What would be considered a colorful landscape was only gray, black, and white to her disfigured eyesight. The only color coming from the pond's surface.
"Are you being hunted, then?" she inquired, cocking her head and giving the other a sidelong glance that held something of the mischievous manner. The idea of a scrap between a couple of small Ifrit-like demons came to mind, and mentally her smile grew wider. A part of her wondered what sort of demons this one spoke of.

@NikaGika
The doe's ears fell lightly to her skull, flattered, yet bothered by the fact a vampire had to check on her because of a simple creature she cared deeply for. She shifted uncomfortably at the irritation in her shoulder, it was nearly impossible to remain focused because of the pain, and only the thought of Sacrilege pinning the pale doe on her back, threatening her life flooded her mind.
"He has... hurt me before." the doe mumbled, grinding her teeth in anger for cowering instead of standing her ground at the time. "He was moments away from taking my life. But I still found myself crawling back to him. Something draws me to him, I don't know what could possibly be so strong in my mind to keep that feeling of 'want' within me." her last few words rumbled in her throat as if anger was taking over.
@Charrusekt
The doe let her eyes narrow, a small trickle of anger blossomed in her throat, rumbling softly, before swallowing it back down moments later. The doe was not in the mood for fighting, but she also wasn't in the mood to joke around. She shrugged off the sarcasm from the other and fixed her pale eyes to the others skull, and let them venture off around her body again. The word 'hunted' brought the does heart to her stomach, chills crawled under her skin, and her ears fell back slightly, but she kept a strong, locked gaze on the doe.
"Yes." she spat, letting her jaws part slightly to take in some scents, but moments later she snapped her jowls quickly and reopened them to speak, "I had someone to help me, but it turns out he was manipulating me. I only saw lust and greed within his eyes. But I never backed down. I was a coward. A foolish idiot." she added, with a hateful tone pooling from her mouth.

He rubbed his cheek against
He sighed; it pained him to see someone hurt. Bela coiled himself around her comfortingly. "He is not worthy of your emotions."
@NikaGika Rose felt her face
@NikaGika
Rose felt her face flush with heat, she softly laughed to herself and smiled sincerely at the vampire, "I'm... I'm flattered. I wish I had someone that did truly love me, someone who wasn't a liar, and a manipulator." she said, with a taste of sadness within her voice. Her eyes were drawn toward his again, digging deep beyond them,
"Have you ever loved before?" she asked, her held slightly tipping the the side.
Pixel by Shadowfly ♥
"You will one day," Bela said
At her question his eyes looked away from hers. "Once, but it was not a good love. When a human is turned into a vampire they acquire this intense feeling of love for the one who turned them called Fledgling's Love. It is powerful and hard to shake, and I felt that towards my "Mother." And other than the brotherly and fatherly love towards my sisters, that was the only time."
It's alright! Been pretty

The only movement from the Folklore was the small little nips she was giving the grass that lay crushed below her muzzle. Tiny, minuscule movements that barely made any sort of clacking noise. Unless you leaned in close, that is.
The other's words slowed her nibbling and prodding of the ground, and she flicked her eyes back toward the white one. Replying only when she got the right words together. "Then I guess it would be a better bet to stay away from all of the assholes, huh?" Her inquiry was said just as it was given: inquiring. She wasn't being mean, but the doe before her couldn't expect that she'd be all that nice, either. They had just met, and Märchen wasn't really sure of what to make of the other just yet. All she saw was that she was melancholic and brooding. And obviously angry.
She would sigh into the grass and lift her head, continuing. "Don't kick yourself so much over it. Mistakes are made. Some learn, some don't." A movement in her shoulders suggested a shrug. "Did you?" Not all learned quick, but with how this one lay in the grass mentally fighting herself for what looked to have been over her own faults, perhaps realization had kicked in a little quicker.
