not like most fairytales
Can't believe his eyes as he stares at the blood-spattered pelt. Can't believe his ears as he hears the echoing voices of this Forest's Gods ringing in his head. Can't believe that his dream was a vision.
But there's no time for him to just stand there and stare at the injured lump of a deer. He has to help. The Gods told him this.
prince, servant
fell in love
chase
save him
bring him here
He couldn't make out the entire message, but he could get the general idea. Save this stag. Was it a stag? Well it must have been, given that he'd been...queer. With the...Prince?
What a twisted fairytale.
Even if he hated blood, hated messes, he still lowered himself down and pushed his neck underneath the limp, furry form. Thank God he didn't have antlers.
Freddie's teeth clenched as he carefully, very carefully, arched and twisted so that the pitch-black coloured form was draped across his back.
"Gods, let him be allright."
And he made his way, slowly but surely, towards the path that led back to the Forest, limbs aching and trembling, and still he walked. His pictogram shone brightly, letting him see where he was going. Once or twice, he thought he heard a mumble, but Freddie chose to dismiss it as his mind playing tricks on him.
And then when he emerged from the Crying Idol, a crowd of deer were already waiting, ready to care for the injured stag.
