You said it, though. It's all too easy for people to lie and keep up the charade. Listen to both sides of a story if there's more than one to tell before you go painting this pristine image of a person. Lies are easy to tell, the truth is harder and may make one seem less desirable. I'm sure every person has lied about at least one aspect of themselves to appeal to one person, or the masses.
Ahahaha~ well I prefer to think of the internet as an ever-changing mask we put on. Whether it's to feel less lonely or to gain something depends on the person I guess. But most of the time it seems as if we want to become something that is only in our dreams.
And sometimes the "face" behind the mask does not have good intentions. So that's something to watch out for o:
Shh, Woma, don't tell anyone!
Yes, Cloudandis; I agree with you both. I think in a lot of ways, it's really easy to connect on an emotional level with someone online. But I think unless you can grasp the whole “tip of the iceberg” concept, one should get to know someone physically, too. Because like you said, Cloudandis, people don't always have good intentions. And like Woma said, too: every person has probably lied at least once to make themselves more appealing to an audience.
I think it would be funny to catch a glimpse of what TEFc members are like IRL.
I think that my La ran into Prussia earlier today but there was a jumble of pictograms and I couldn't be sure. Were you around the pond?
And oh internet, land of hilarious anonymity and lies. I always just imagine internet people are grey, faceless, sexless, voiceless cartoon characters until I meet them face to face. I also recommend the practice of reverse image searching photos that anyone sends me, you'd be amazed how many people on random sites use photos of other people. Or maybe you wouldn't be amazed.
I spend a lot of time taking advantage of anonymity and speaking frankly with strangers. I dunno if you've heard of Omegle but it's a site that pairs strangers to chat about whatever. I'd say that the quality of a conversation is incredible when you and the other person speak only as personalities without knowing (or thinking you know) shit about the other person.
Joke's on them though, I am really a very sophisticated computer program doing my best to pass the turing test and I'm not even real.

This is belated, but I don't think I've seen La in the Forest before. Prussia was with Woma's Miriam and Faustt's Morikiah that day near the birch. Will keep my eyes open though.
I do like to use the reverse imaging technique just here and there. I feel it's quite underrated.
I've heard of Omegle, but don't have much interest in it. Would imagine there are some interesting conversations to go around there, though.
(And yep, I feel you. People don't believe me, but I'm actually serious when I say I'm a guy who lives up in an attic and I have an uncannily well-trimmed goatee. Thinking about shaving it though).

I should totally just do that. Would save me tons of trouble. ;;

Sorry Sherlock was such a jerk to Trout. Unfortunately, he's not a real fan of fawns.
Thought she was pretty cute though. Also what you wrote about him was really beautiful.
I am an absolutely understanding of IC behaviour! I figured your Sherlock was acting naturally. When I chose to play Trout the way I do, I intentionally chose to target her interactions with characters that by nature, may not always be very fond of her presence.
Trout also is incredibly understanding, the task she has been born into will surely be filled with a lot of frustration and persistence, heartbreak, etc. She does not require her efforts to be accepted or for her presence to be tolerated to exact her destiny.
ohhh it looks lovely in here <3 just wanted to let you know I'm on a two-week vacation starting today, so I'll see you when I get back! Loveeeee take care ♥
That made you blush? Well ain't you a sweet little thing. (8
No but seriously, you're an inspiration. Ilu and your stuff, be it whatever, drawings/writings. They always steal my attention for a long time, no matter what I was doing before. All the small details everywhere.
I've always been thinking that art looks like it's drawer/writer. You're no exception, dear. There's so much in you, but not everyone sees all the small little things through your speach or your acts. Not everyone can see the person behind the art.
Aivilo, I'll be more diligent about that, I swear.
Declan, hey lady. Where've you been lately? I miss the good ol' days with Sherlock and Harumi, however quickly they seemed to breeze by. Your characters are always awesome.
Could ask the same thing, haha. I'm afraid I no longer have a computer to run the forest on, the lack of it have kind of made me loose touch with the community as well it seems so I'm not a frequent visitor anymore. Hopefully I'll get the funds to change that sometime, find myself missing parts of this place at times.
I do miss those times as well, both she and I appreciated the company when given the chance. And gosh, thank you, that really means a lot, always been a fan of yours. ♥
I didn't know how to get in touch with you, other than here, so I'm sorry in advance. I want to let you know that I'm sorry for not keeping in touch with you better, we had fun those years ago with Mori and Prussia. I should have made more of an effort. If you want someone to just be an ear, or to just chat with, you're welcome to message me. I'd love to talk to you again. I'm sorry for your loss, it's a pain that I couldn't imagine experiencing. You and Fin are beautiful souls, and I'm sure he will be with you always <3
