♥ Overwhelmed with love for his growing family.

previously: The months after finding out Anne was pregnant were spent in the human world. Took a responsible approach to his role of a father-to-be and took up two big projects to secure himself a steady income for the months preceding the arrival of the new family member. Felt it was the best he could do to save up as much as possible in order to get the house ready and to gather enough savings to be able to care for his family once the bundle of joy arrives. Also found the human world a safer refuge for Anne and himself, the safety of his beloved being the top priority. Did, however, pay visits to the Forest together with Anne during free days. Doting on her in both worlds and cherishing every moment spent with her and the growing bump. ♥

-- Prefers company over time spent alone.
-- Bitter over the fact that everyone he used to know has disappeared. Loved and lost.
-- Has a soft spot for fawns, will herd them and keep an eye on them if allowed to do so.
-- Favours a certain tree near the Bridge.
-- Also can be found at his 'calming' spot in the Birch and at the tree he shares with Anne.
-- Likes to keep on his hooves – confident and comfortable in his stance. Will sit and rest only when absolutely certain it is safe to do so.

Most of his behaviour depends on the company he finds himself in. His playful and goofy side will show when around fawns, you can expect him to be tense when around unfamiliar males, larger or predatory creatures, and often notice him being calm and protective around females and smaller beings. 

Forest language note due to recent confusion: I use 'listen' emote literally as a portrayal of listening and sniffing the air intently to determine who's around and/or who's approaching. Plus as a random movement to let others know that I am tabbed in and my deer is alert.

Combat

Picks his battles wisely. Is generally against fighting and will stay out of fights unless he or those he cares about are in danger. The Rut is a different matter - seeks to show off rather than hurt.

Even when fighting, does not usually aim to fatally harm his opponent.
Built more for strength and endurance rather than speed.
The hair on top of his head and around his neck bristles as a display of a size and aggression.
Uses antlers as his primary means of attack and defence.
Can and will kick with his front and hind legs.

Status: Matt is not a stranger to the event. This year, however, his situation and therefore his tactics have changed. He is teaming with Anne to form #teamconfused. Due to that most likely won't tolerate anyone else to form an alliance with though it highly depends on the circumstances. Is affected by hormones to an extent but able to control it. Participating to socialize and meet new faces. Although usually biased against predators and predatory-looking creatures, will do his best to treat everyone in accordance with their class as long as they act like their class.
Because he doesn't have 'brute strength' and massive size of a Competitor but rather the perseverance of a Challenger, I decided that would be the most suitable role for him.

Priority: Anne – his beloved, his teammate and ally; while she is his strength and advantage, she's also his weakness; more possessive of her than usually though might not actually show it Jokes on me.

Radar: Blod, Mirah, Rose, Sophie, Brille, Jetta, Yoko, Arielle, Idelle, 'Orbit', Zafeiri, Sammael, Lilitu...

Rivals: Jyoti, Jacinth, Brent, Isetore, Quay

Herding: The main aim. Feels it is a great honor to be allowed to guard and tend to a group and takes great pride in it. Together with Anne will tend to whatever herd they might win over and attract. That being said, it's the Judges who control where they want to settle down or go. Although Anne is his priority, might flirt and be affectionate towards the Judges but won't go further than scent marking them.

Combat: Endurance and perseverance are his strengths. Doesn't tire out easily at all and is used to stay on his hooves for hours on end. Where he lacks in size and experience, he makes up with agility and strength. It should be noted that he doesn't mean serious harm to his opponents. The aim is to show off while causing as little damage as possible. He will draw away from a fight if it seems the other means serious harm. Doesn't hold grudges against his opponents beyond the event.
If the situation allows, he's going to preface any fight/spar with a bow in a clear display of respect to his rival. Deems good manners and etiquette as a factor that can contribute to his success. Strives to honor fellow Challengers and Competitors and impress the Judges by being on his best behavior.
