She pestered the flock buzzing away. Shortly after she heard a disgusted huff, her pale face glanced up from the snow the black around her eyes reflected a grey shade to the snow, she remained silent but a frowning expression layed clear on her face. She grew worried, socially awkward to his words.. what to say? She looked down at his mockery responce.. she was rather confident to speak.. "no..." the words were short and staggered, a pitchy but cute female tone. She swung her long black curled hair to the other side of her long neck.
Without hesitation she looked away and frowned again. She shifted her small figure for her scars to be revealed, but she did not notice, she did not make eye contact with the male what-so-ever.
The white let out a snort. "Then you shouldn't complain..." he replied in a shourt, rough tone. The grin calmed down to a smirk, but it didn't lose its former sharpness. His ears had perked up slightly at her words. So... female? He still wasn't sure. He had met other 'boys' with high pitched voices like this.... and the figure still wasn't clearly visible to him, the face only a slightly blurry light patch at the dark figure in the distance. No details visible... even if she was close, he would need close observation to catch tiny ones... such as the scars. They stayed unnoticed.... even if he would see them... he was propably the last one to be bothered or puzzled about them. Nearly every creature in this place wore some... including himself of course.
His tongue ran over his lips. That figure had long hair... together with this voice and that body. Yes.. female.
He snickered. Riddle solved.
She shook at his loud tone, her ears pinned back and her eyes flooded with tears... the emotion in her eyes couldn't be held back. Although she wanted to be strong... but she was weak "w-why... why did you answer me l-like that.." the reply was firm but shaky.. the stagger in her tone shown that she was weaker.
She mumbled under she breath in a sweet tone.. "I guess im jus-...." she was interupted the crackley tone began to reveal and the tears being held back swirved down her cheeks, she rambled a slight closer toward him but not much. Leaning over she sliced the tears off her face, when the scars began to open and drip blood. She began to panick.... looking down she noticed the snow tinting to a red, the courage drained in her face. She stood dumbfounded and the chill of the winter breeze made her shiver.
He let out another chuckle. "Why not?" was the simple answer. More grinning. He hadn't even started to get 'impolite' yet. Maybe another touchy one? Interesting. Though... many of them had turned out to be annoyingly cheeky in the end.
The white shifted his weight again, more comfortable... and more sheltered against the cold, one of the rare occasions where it was shown that he actualy could move his fluffy tail... now half curled around his backsite. His eyes stayed on the shady figure, now comming closer to him, still too far away for details... "Just what...?" this time the tone in his voice was sweet, but there was something lurking behind it...
She remained silent for his first words, leaving a unimpressed look scribbled on her face... but perked her ears at the next sentance he spoke, stepping a moment closer, much closer now."I-i am sorry for bothering you.." she extended her small jaw again as if to speak.. but nothing came out. Her stomach twisted inside her, but she sighed calmly after his sweet tone toward her.
"That was no answer to my question" he replied calmly. Without any movement he watched her comming closer. "So...so...you are sorry to bother me ? Still you come closer to me? We have a Little liar here yes?"he let out another chuckle "or...eh...or are you just dumb? Can't decide yet...yes?" He seemed to be dead serious with this statement.
At least he was able to see her a little better now. A doe. Human face, at least. He didn't care much about the marks in her face. Much stranger things had been seen in this place...
The doe stared, heavy lids of her eyes falling that much further down. Sure, he was rude. Insulting in the extreme, even. But even now, there was no attempt to fight or even correct him in his assumptions. Fight, switched off. Every word went ignored.
Every one except for a select few. "...there are corpses?" Her dim voice reiterated what he had already told her. The tip of a tongue curled out, running over the grotesque line through her lip and up toward her nose, the first signs of curiosity showing in the form of very slightly perking ears.
@cicadia:
His face twitched. Again... this calmness... almost emptiness. Imune to his poison, the stinging of his tongue. A hot rush of anger ran through his body, almost let him jump up and scream... but instead he just took a deep breath.
" Yes... corpses." he smiled. "many, yes? Eh... don't know how many... but a lot animals decided to drown there yes?" he chuckled " couldn't bear ehhh... all this peaceful paradise... yes?" he almost sounded amused now...
She let out a loud huff and glare.. "Go ahead.. say what you want.. i hear it all the time" her ears pinned to her soft black curly hair swaying calmly in the frosty breeze her head jerked back.. and she began to stagger backwards quite quick, her slim figure stood by the tree she was by earlier.
She didn't want to grow aggressive, she sensed another side to this male, she just had to get it to show. But is she wasteing her time? Just like she did with the others? Drifting off into thought she watched him curiously and carefully.
"ah...I see...so you are both... dumb... and a liar" he snickered, curled up again, taking his eyes of the stranger. Obviously he was done with her, now that she backed off again, didn't seem to have further interest in this new encounter, yet. Judgeing from her words, one of those lost and lonely figures here, maybe in search for friends? He didn't believe in friendship... nor did he like strangers. The only interesting fact about her was her human face... but today he didn't feel like ' investigating'. especially not on a lost. Most likely stuck here anyways... if not... returning. Plenty of chances to ask out when warmer... and with better eyesight. He chuckled again to himself, ending his train of thoughts.
Of course, there where other sides on him. But they where barely, if ever, shown. even the very few trusted ones rarely witnessed them. That doe was no trusted one... and certainly neve will be. he didn't trust anyone... besides those two, maybe three 'close'.
She grew angry at his words towards her, but blinked contented before turning around to leave. She said not a word but a jerk towards her tree... she smothered the bloody snow and started toward the tree.. hopeing.. dreaming... that someone may accept her. With the thoughts of bogus.. she teared... cried. This time, the sobing sound was a notch louder, drawing old grass toward her for warmth.
The smirk drew up slightly on her face.. she thought Im so foolish the smirk drained from her face and a depressed expression replaced it.
An ear was lazily perked up. The sobbing and crying were other sounds that didn't fit to this surrounding. He stayed unmoved for a moment, before he let out a sight and uncurled again, shivering in a sudden gust of wind, that went through the openings of the broken building. Maybe he should wander to the little shelter soon... though... there he would need to warm up the ground again...
He turned his head again, casted a long look at the stranger in the distance. "Now now.... little girl is crying...?" came it now, suddenly unusual soft from him. His eyes rested on her again, hidden behind shaded glasses
sorry for the late reply! I was having weird connection problems with this site..
------
The tears that ran down her cheeks paused to the sound of the males calm voice toward her, her small head jerked back toward him "oh.... yeah.. sorry if it is bothering you.." she spoke calm and respectfully toward him ending with a fake smile, but as if he saw it anyway..
She held her ice blue eyes on him possibly a friendship could be made? No... he didn't seem like the type that believes in friendship,
She kept her eyes on him for possibly and insault may come along.. like last time, her ears dangled beside her back curly hair and depression scibbled apon her small face, she tried to remain the smile thinking about that rare chance of a friend.. but the thoughts drained.. as if that would ever happen to Molly..
((No problem... I had them too xD the server was spazzing...))
'Sorry' there was this word again. He let out a snort. "Overuses that word much, yes?" the softness was gone, still his voice was calm. "Someone so eeh...so considered about bothering others...heh... why...hm why don't you search yourself a nice place eh...somewhere else, far away from me then, yes? No chance to bother then..." he shifted his weight once more, this time seemingly to a position that allowed a quick getting up....
There was no smile on his face this time, besides the carved one... his head slightly tilted he continued to watch the stranger.
Can't recall Thorntail meeting Jack previously to today, but yes at the moment he is boring, glitchyness can be the worst o-o
its nice to have one of my characters finally meet Jack though ^_^
oh wait yes, Jack was with another deer too? Thorn didn't react much then because I was going to log off when you found him...yeah he's coming across as being a very boring deer now XD
Her ears remained as they were at his words, she began to sob again.."I-im just u-used to saying it.." the pathetic smile drove off her face and her crying grew not much louder.. but able to hear, "I-i-i will leave... yes..." she shivered at the gust of wind wrapping around her tiny figure, her head drooped while turning around to head toward a destionation farther from his... but she walked slowly to make sure if he had any last words to say to her..
She probably won't like them.. but it was worth a shot... remained crying with her black hair hanging over one side of her neck.
The white continued to watch the figure in the distance, still not moving his body or face. He could see how she got up again, ears perked up at her words. He let out a snort. "Das ging schnell..." words obviously adressed to himself, not to her.
He curled up again, against the cold, trying to use his fluffy backsite as a blanket... with moderade success. Allthough his head was down now, his eyes were still nailed to the doe in the distance, watching if she would leave now. Sometimes it happened... some that acutally did what was told to them. Pleasent, yes... easy to keep down and away... and often enough not interesting. He prefared oponents over victims... most of the time.
late replies x( sorry..

She perked his ears to his words... Molly did understand some German. She jerked back ahead of the male and spoke softly "Good-bye.. It was nice talking..." she stubbled forward again scanning the large landscape for a place to warm up.. freezing she was. She shuttered at the gust of sudden wind.
Finally she caught sight of a caved in large bunny hole, with grass surrounding, it wasn't far from his destionation.. but it would probably be the warmest place for her for now.. until the small blizzard fades, she would freeze if she walked on.
Curling up she rested her head on her legs, again crying.. as usual.. thinking about her past, again... as usual.
"That was no talk, cow." came the immediate reply to her words. He watched the figure moving. Away from him. He let out a silent grunt, shifted his weight once more, now curling up completely against the cold, turning his eyes and face off the stranger and concentrating on protecting himself against the cold.
Soon the encounter was burried in his mind.
Heh thank you too... even though it was short, i hoped it helped you.
...sadly jack isn't one of the friendly or wellcoming inhabitants of the forest |D
"... did we...? Yes... I think..." he narrowed his eyes slightly and had a long look at her. "Eh.. but never told you my name, yes?" A suspicous look appeared on his face.
Echosong realized that he had indeed never told her. By way of explanation, she said "I learned of your name from others, before today. I was curious to know who you were."
"From others..." he repeated, the suspicious look on his face growing more intense. Ears where slightly turned backwards, while he gave her another measuring look, eyes narrowing behind the shaded glasses of the goggles. "And you are...?" the white tilted his head to the right, one ear perking up now, waiting for an answer.
Echosong saw the look on the white stags face, and wondered if perhaps she should apologize. Then again, those perculiar things he was wearing made judging his mood difficult. And it was hard to know what to apologize for. "I'm known as Echosong" She tried to seem a little submissive. Starting a fight was definetly not something she wanted to do. He was bigger than her after all.
"Echosong..." he repeated her name and stared at her for another moment. Suddenly his lips split up into a grin, twisted by the scars on his cheeks. "So so... echosong eh? Hehe.... and... is there something you want from me, echosong?" he tutrned his head slightly way from her, still his ears pointed towards her. His whole atention was on her... he wondered about this doe... who obviously questioned others about him. That made her suspicious... at least in his paranoid mind. She was surely out for something.
(edit: i am off to bed now, i will answer again tomorrow ^^)
"Want something from you? No." The doe tilted her head, curious. She could feel that he was very suspicious of her. For inquiring other deer of his name, perhaps? How odd. "What makes you say that?"
"Everyone wants something when going to another." he stated as a matter of fact. "....anything... yes?" the white started to smirk again and looked into the doe's face. He wrinled his nose slightly. "And be it just ehh 'company' ...or...ehh... giving in curiousity... 'investigating' because someone is eeeeh 'interesting..." the stag let out a short snort. He always thought reasons like that where just covers for other, different reasons that should stay hidden. And it was obvious he believed this doe had some hidden intention, as well. "... is always somethig." a silent chuckle. "So, cow.... what do you want?"
Sorry about the late reply!
----------------
Her ear flicked in mild irritation. The white stag seemed to be impolite as well as paranoid. And that smirk. She considered her answer."Well... I came over here to meet you again. I was curious about you, I suppose. And I really have nothing to do at the moment. So I might as well talk to you." Did anyone always need a reason to speak to someone? No.
His smirk became another grin, showing sharp fangs into the doe's direction, until it vanished from his face again. "Curious.... i see..." for a moment his favourite saying about curiousity lay on his tongue, the quoute with the cat and curiousity, but today he didn't say it. "Hm... and... eh why do you think i would want to talk to you, too?" he asked calmly, his voice neutreal. Obviously this was an honest question, out of interest.
The doe shrugged. "Well, do you have anything better to do?" She glanced at the object the stag wore on his head, above his eyes. What was that odd looking thing?"May I ask you a question?"
He gave her another measuring look, swallowed another respond to her first question and answered her second instead with a short reply. "Sure." His answer though would depend on her question... or if he would answer at all. His ears perked slightly up.
Echosong nodded her head towards the mystery object. "What is that strange thing you wear on your head? Does it do anything?" She wondered if the white stag would answer truthfully, if at all.
@Okami: no idea either but... if.... thanks 8D and if not...hai!
@Echosong:
The whites ears twitched slightly. Another smirk appeared on his face, without him beeing able to stop it. Even though his eyegear wasn't a quite common sight in this place, it was quite rare some of its inhabitants asked for it. Not even the 'animals'. He always had seen it for another sign of their dullheadedness.
This animal here though, seemed to be different. Intersting. "Is pretty, yes?" he eventually answered. "Like all your sweet little masks around here, yes? Just hmm more unique... fitting for me, yes?" he snickered and lifted an eyebrow.
Of course he wouldn't tell the true reason for it to a complete stranger. Not if there was some us in it...
If she would continue to lurk around him, she would may find the reason out herself... when he would lose it, or when he would take it off at night.
"Yes, I suppose so. It is quite..." She searched for a fitting word. " Quite unique. Although, it seems like it should have a practical use. It looks as though those round parts would protect your eyes. Is that what they're for?" Echosong examined the headgear more closely.
The white chuckled and shook his head, then he shifted his weight to sit more comfortable...and to turn his face away from her. "Hmm isn't that every mask's nice side effect, yes? Protecting and hiding its owners face?" he grinned. His eyes, hidden behind the shaded glasses shifted back to her, to keep a a look on her, even though his face was slightly turned now. "Should ask eeh.. all those bastards who like to wear corpse-parts in their faces about that.. 'pretty' and protection..."
Hello Smiling Jack. I understand that your "home" is the altar at the Ruins. My "home" is only steps away from there. You may've seen me in my secret little place..over time.. or not..
Su-mi has seen you occasionally from time to time.
Yes, it is my "home" after all - I've been here 5 years, give or take- "home":the place where my Su-mi metamorphosed from a fawn into an adult. Right in that very same place. A place that's kept as a secret and always there for me, where I like to sleep, and for the "deep, black sleep" when we leave the forest. I had wondered as I gazed at you from my "home" if you've noticed me as well over time.
Very interesting. Noted.
