•
Sabastion suffers from insomnia and rarely finds rest. When he does, he has surreal dreams that are devoid of hope.
•
He tends to wander, as he gets restless easily, even if he's in the company of friends.
•
He is often deep in thought and stuck in a perpetual waking dream-like state.
•
Large antlers are frightening to him; he is uncomfortable around very masculine deer.
•
He is homosexual, but he is very much in denial of this. He fears any form of intimate contact, and nuzzles from males.
•
His fear of large antlers is attributed to his fear of giving in to his underlying sexuality towards males.
•
He is prone to having bouts of anxiety and sometimes panic attacks, usually over nothing.
•
Because of his social phobia he tends to avoid groups of deer; he prefers minimal company.
•
He may flee from a growing crowd, or invasive deer. He is easily spooked by deer that rush into his personal space.
•
Suffers from mild audio and visual hallucinations at times due to having a form of schizophrenia.
•
His audio hallucinations are similar to this wavering sound effect (1:20-1:22).
•
On the rare occasion he also hears disembodied whispering and screams, as well as unearthly noises.
•
Visual hallucinations vary in their intensity, but usually not crippling. Mostly consist of facial and shadow distortions.
•
It is sometimes difficult for him to remember faces or scents due to these distortions. His memory is also not very good.
•
Patience and understanding are key to knowing and getting to know Sabastion.
He is gentle, nervous, shy, flighty, awkward, introverted, observant,
submissive, cautious, uncertain, distrusting, self-loathing, lonely,
wary, fearful, insecure
He loves small company, comfort, sunshine,
sitting in flower patches, fog, the sound of rain, watching from afar,
being hidden from view (security)
He fears himself, intimacy, confrontation, fighting,
darkness, aggression, large antlers, masculine displays,
hallucinations, deep water, his desires

"I don't understand," he replied softly, "How...how do I do what?" The blue buck was still a little nervous, but he was no longer flighty. He was more curious than anything, really. Slowly his ears began to slide forward, trying to think through the humming in his head. Suddenly, it dawned on him. "Do you mean...how do you make friends?" he asked timidly, hoping that he understood correctly. If that's indeed what the stag meant, then Sabastion was taken aback. He couldn't help but feel ashamed that he had reacted this way to Whiteface's friendly intentions, but he had went about it so wrongly. He did react correctly...didn't he? It was all so confusing.

The buck started to calm down
Ly saw Sabastion's smile
"Sabastion. That's a pretty name." He sat now with the buck. He stopped smiling once he realized the strangeity of his last statement. He flushed extrememly now, looking down and away.
"O-oh. Thank y-you... It's sort of a long story. I don't think you'd want to hear it." Ly was shy again, wishing that those strange words hadn't tiumbled out of his mouth. His voice faded down and away by the time he was done with his last sentence.
"How do you....," he bit his
He turned to the other, with his scolding words, and pulled his brows down in a frown. "And how am I supposed to know that? I was trying to approuch you. You didn't like it. I thought i'd try later."
"I wasn't exacly raised on the right side of the fence. The closest thing i've had to a friend is the one who woke me up here. And I have no idea where she is now. Atleast I didn't have to approuch her."

Sabastion nodded slowly as Lykai spoke, his eyes drifting to the ground. Oh, how true the smaller buck's words were. That sense of relief within him began to spread when he realized that Ly could relate to him in that sense. The blue buck then looked back up with a soft chuckle, shaking his head slowly. "There's no need to apologize. It's fine, really. I guess I'm just not used to talking so much, or even being spoken to," he replied, not so much ashamed to admit it as he was embarrassed.
He then blinked in surprise at the unexpected compliment, and a gentle flush graced his cheeks as well. "Er...th-thank you. Lykai is a...pretty name as well," the blue buck replied nervously, forcing an awkward smile. With a gentle tilt of his head he sank down upon the rock, delicately tucking his legs beneath him and looking up at Lykai with imploring eyes. "Well...I really don't mind. I haven't talked to anyone in a while, and a story sounds nice. I would very much like to hear it." This was accented with a soft smile, one that was genuine. Indeed, he hoped that the smaller buck wouldn't be discouraged.

As Whiteface spoke so desperately, pleadingly, Sabastion felt a new sensation stirring within him. Was it...pity? Yes, it must have been. He never thought he'd be able to relate to this stag that initially unnerved him, but here he was now realizing that they had more in common than he'd thought. Silently the blue buck listened to Bryn exlain, his eyes flicking to the side as Martin began to speak as well. His friend was still distrusting, and perhaps rightfully so...but now Sabastion felt like taking a risk.
Tentatively he took a step forward, then a second and then a third. His head was hung low, his posture hunched submissively and his eyes fixed on Bryn's hooves. He was now positioned a little bit in front of Martin, practically standing between the two. "I don't know what to think or believe right now...but I have a feeling that you won't hurt us. And even if you don't intend on causing us harm, you must at least respect any wish we may have to be left alone. If you cannot respect others' space, then it'll cause you problems. Other deer may want to fight because of it," Sabastion explained quietly, his eyes darting anywhere other than to Bryn's own.

Ysrael - Oh my god, I absolutely love it! That sketch is utterly gorgeous and eerie...gorgeously eerie! The glowing pictogram lighting up the shadows is a very lovely touch; he looks delightfully mysterious, and that maaaane~! Thank you so much for the drawing and the track, dear; I'm very flattered that you were inspired! Gah, I love it sooo much! T_T <333
His ears went back at
"Wait, what? I never wanted to hurt you...why would you think that?" he queried, tilting his head a little. "I.....understand. But I never wanted to fight. I was just trying to introduce myself." He cracked a weak smile here, a little downput by the conversation. "I must look like a fool. If....you want me to leave, i'll go."
Sighing, the blue buck's eyes
Sabastion was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts when Bryn wondered is he should just leave. "N-no...there's no need for that. You don't have to leave," he replied quickly, the nervous tone still evident in his voice. He turned to Martin and cocked his head, his eyes searching his friend's own for confirmation. "Is that okay with you, Martin? I'm sure he's telling the truth and means no harm..."

"We could avoid crowds, yes," he responds. He is intrigued by the other deer and his skittishness. He circles the smaller deer before starting to walk on toward the cemetery. It is his favorite place, and he enjoys the atmosphere that the graveyard carries along with it. But he is not rude, and before he walks too far away, asks, "Is the graveyard fine?"

I just really felt the need to thank you after discovering Zdzislaw Beksinski's art here @__@ I still can't get over how otherworldly and intricate it is.
At any rate, I hope to meet your character inforest sometime!
No worries parler, I don't
The blue buck perked up a little when the spider-deer granted his request, his ears tipping forward. "Thank you," he replied softly, although shrinking into himself slightly as Dmitri circled him. It was more of a bashful reaction than one of fear or discomfort. He watched as Dmitri began to walk in the direction of the ruins, and at his new acquaintance's inquiry a soft smile brightened his obscured face. "Yes...that'd be just fine. It's so quiet and peaceful there," Sabastion said as he trotted up to Dmitri's side, walking alongside him in sync. He remained silent for a moment as made their pilgrimage, his eyes focused on the gravestones not far up ahead. Casting a sidelong glance, he realized that he could make out the outline of a human jaw hidden behind Dmitri's rather unnerving mask. "Are you...really a spider?" the blue buck asked softly, hesitantly. He was curious, intensely so, but he wasn't sure if he was being rude asking such a question.

Awh, I am very happy to have introduced Beksinski's work to you! It's simply incredible, and oddly beautiful in its own surreal and post-apocalyptic way. It really transports you to another world, and I'm so glad that it helped inspire you. Thank you so much again for the beautiful sketch dear, I absolutely adore it~ T_T <3 Awh, yes, I would love for Sabastion to meet one of your characters as well!

Whiteface received the answer towards his question with a small smile. Although he was still unsure about the other buck; he didn't seem too happy for him to be around at the moment.
But no need to make further offense. "I'm Brynhried." His voice was quiet, but comfortable. "May I know your names...?"

Sabastion's ears twitched as Martin spoke at his side. He was surprised to find that he was a little relieved when his friend confirmed that Bryn may stay, perhaps because he feared that everything would just quickly escalate into a conflict. He remained silent when Whiteface spoke again, looking away as he felt a little embarrassed...maybe even ashamed. He didn't give Bryn a chance for a while, but he had every reason not to...didn't he? When the stag announced his name the blue buck looked back up, a surprised expression on his face. "Brynhried," he replied slowly, letting the name roll off of his tongue. He quite liked it. "That is an interesting name. Mine is Sabastion," he continued as he gave a half-bow out of politeness.

When the spider-masked buck snapped his head back, Sabastion started a little in surprise. He shrank into himself slightly, his gaze casting to the side nervously. "F-forgive me, I meant no offense," he replied softly, hoping that his voice wasn't shaking. The mask was even more unnerving when Dmitri appeared even slightly agitated. Slowly his eyes moved back to watch as the other buck uprooted weeds with his pincers, and he found himself becoming fascinated all over again. "You are a child of the Gods," Sabastion pondered aloud in awe. "So...they do exist? Do they really look like those statues by the pond? Are they deer also?" The questions were flowing out of him as he moved closer to Dmitri, his eyes still focused on the task at hand. His curiosity was getting the better of him, but he'd rather be curious than be afraid.

Martin slightly cocked his head after the blue stag has introduced himself. He stepped forward, his eyes on the stag. ''I'm Martin.'' The buck was hesitant if whether he should bow or not. He decided not to. Instead, he turned his head away and gazed into the distance, not wanting to face the blue stag. It was one of those moments when Martin just had to be rude because of something someone has done to him, in this case, has frightened him.

A small smile formed on Sabastion's face when Martin bowed and introduced himself, mostly out of relief. There wouldn't be fighting...good. That was good. "Whiteface," the blue buck echoed, cocking his head slightly. Admittedly, it was an endearing moniker, one that did anything but strike fear in one's heart. And now, something was bothering Whiteface. Sabastion could see it in his face, read it in his body language. The stag was distressed, yes, but Sabastion refrained from speaking up about it. It was none of his business after all, and they had just finally introduced each other rather awkwardly.
"It's alright, Whiteface. I'm sorry as well, for reacting the way I did and for not giving you the chance you deserve," Sabastion replied quietly, swallowing out of nervous habit. "I know what it's like to keep to myself, to not know how to meet others. In a way, you and I are somewhat alike in that respect." He glanced to the side to gaze at Martin for a moment, and knowing and reassuring look in his eyes, before turning back to Whiteface and pawing gently at the ground. "Come. Would you sit with us, friend?"
