"...thoughts here...."
November 12th, 2015
Yes, I guess I can say I'm gone now. It's been 4 months and I've looked at this site maybe twice. I have absolutely no desire to go into forest anymore. Herla and my other characters are alive and well, though they don't live here anymore. I'm as happy with them now as I've ever been and feel much more satisfied with my creations since removing them from this place. I used to think that would be hard or impossible and if I left, I'd lose them. I laugh now at that, the best way out is through as they say, and then you wonder what all the fuss was about in the first place.
Health challenges continue, and part of that is minimized computer time since it aggravates my conditions to sit and type and look at screens. After a decade dedicated to digital art, I pretty much exclusively do traditional art now. Loving my Copic markers. It has really helped me to find alternative creative outlets like the Ball Jointed Doll Hobby. Starting to sculpt and sew too.
Please don't leave messages here, I'll be unlikely to see them. If you wish to contact me use the email below.
Please do not ask for any of my pictos.

( After posting that I just

(Pff oh god, now I'm going to
The grass was great. This
((Poor Liam, lush green grass right under his nose! Herla can be downright oblivious to the needs of others. The poor buck could pass out from the heat and she'd just be irritated! LOL)
(Haha, wouldn't doubt it!
The young buck licked his lips, for now he realized that he was also quite thirsty. He watched Herla graze for a moment, and he grimaced as his stomach snarled at him again. Maybe she wouldn't notice if he had a quick bite and drink... He perked up when she looked at him and smiled, and he awkwardly returned the expression and straightened up again as if he were still alert. When she went back to grazing, Liam wasted no time in munching on the lovely grass around his hooves. He ate as quickly and silently as possible, also taking a few frantic gulps of water. To any other deer, he probably came off as not having eaten for days, but at the moment he didn't really care. When he was hungry, well, nothing could stop him from eating. Simple as that!
All this grazing was getting
Indeed, it was hot. Hotter
((Oh my gosh, poor Liam!
Herla languidly swam around the pond, sighing her contentment. What a perfectly lovely day. Having her fill of swimming, she climbed back ashore and shook her pelt dry and fluffed her feather mantle back up. “Oh Liam dear, I’m so very sleepy now.” she said yawning and stretching.
Watching.
((Thanks Veegamer! )) To
To "The Red":
A pretty small black doe approached and bowed to the large red deer, “Oh gentle sir, thank you for assisting in my protection against that large rampaging beast. I most assuredly had no defense on my own, my humble gratitude forever is yours,” she gushed, giving an elegant doe bow, fluffing her feather mantle and batting her eyelashes demurely. “I am Herla.”
(Haha, I wouldn't be
Liam turned to face Herla as she emerged from the water, and at that point he was beginning to lightly pant. His fur rippled as the flies continued to pester him, and at that moment he would love nothing more than to dive into the pond and rid himself of the heat and nuisances. But, he stood his guard; he must not betray the doe's trust. He blinked when she announced she was tired, and he looked over at a nearby willow tree. "Perhaps you should rest beneath the tree over there? There will be plenty of shade; this heat is dreadful," he offered, praying that she would agree. It was unbearably hot, and his head was beginning to pound a little. Damn this heat...
Just popping by to say that I
Her character seems almost comically exaggerated (maybe even satirical). I'm usually not a fan of that but you pull it off so well and make it very amusing and enjoyable to read.
Herla gave the golden buck
((Thanks Unplugged, I’m having fun with her character, I know she can be a bit over the top. I’m hoping to actually progress her eventually, have some character growth, she isn’t set in stone. She’s used to being the one always breaking hearts…maybe there will be some stag that will break hers. ))
What a doll. Ugh, so
I must meet her. >C
-stalks the forest determinedly-
((Selruil: Come find her!
Liam seized up a bit when he
(Lol, she is very high-maintenance! And Liam's doing his best to be a gentleman; at least he can relax in the shade, finally! =P)
-creeps on- >8D The magpie
The magpie pelted creature is mine. <3 It's best to ignore him, he's a bit of a snob. XD
Oh, what the perfect stag he
((Selruil, aw, so that’s you. Herla is getting quite tiffed at your boy for ignoring her. Full temper tantrum coming on…))
Haha, yep. He's an unofficial
LOL. Ohgod, that gave me quite the laugh. |D Poor, tiffed Herla.
(Lol, poor Liam indeed, but I
Liam's cheeks grew warm as he blushed up a storm, and he straightened himself up and cleared his throat. "Yes, of course," he announced as confidently as he could, laying down next to the doe and offering his shoulder to her. Any other stag would have called her out on her obvious flirtation tactics by now, but in truth Liam had no idea how flirting exactly worked or how to recognize it. He had a feeling that a couple of stags had flirted with him before, but he could no longer tell what was mockery and what was not. Truthfully, he was just grateful for Herla's company, and to be out of the damned sun.
((This is cracking me up!
Herla rested upon Liam’s shoulder. Truth was she did rest better next to somebody else. She was very insecure on her own and hated sleeping by herself. She just felt too vulnerable. The more stags she had in her pocket, the better. They could protect her. It never crossed her mind to actually befriend any of them or have actual romantic feelings for them. No, they were only a means to an end. The bigger and stronger they were and the more devoted they were to her, the better. There were things in the forest she very much had reason to be afraid of. She snuggled close to Liam and was quickly asleep.
(D'aw...in a way, she and
The golden stag let out a tired sigh as she leaned against him and relaxed. He didn't mind offering his shoulder, really; he was always grateful for any kind of friendly company. He vaguely wondered why he had never seen Herla around before. She was absolutely stunning; there was no way he would have missed her. Furthermore, how could a lovely doe such as her not have a mate? She was so scared, as if she had been through a traumatic experience. It broke his heart just thinking about it... Liam gently nuzzled just below her crest-line, and sighed again. He felt so very tired...but he really should stay awake just in case if there was a particular stag that was giving her trouble. Oh, Liam...stupid, foolish Liam. What are you doing? You're no bodyguard, you weak little fawn...
((In a lot of ways, Liam is
Herla was dreaming. She knew she was, it was a dream she had often. She was a fawn. Alone in the forest. Her mother was gone and had left her alone. She was cold and hungry and had nobody to look after her. Night creatures hunted her. She was defenseless. She always awoke from this dream crying, which she did now. She sobbed silently so as not to awaken Liam. She would never allow anybody to know her true fear. Even crying, she was controlled, her body hardly shuddering at all as she sucked the sobs in. She would never allow herself to be that scared fawn again. She had grown up beautiful, that along with her cunning was her only asset. She would do what ever she had to do to make sure she was safe so she would never suffer like she had when she was a fawn. Choking down the last of her sobs, she nuzzled further into Liam’s warm side and drifted off back to sleep.
(Aww...that is so very sad!
Although he was beginning to drift off as well, Liam could suddenly sense that Herla was in distress. Opening his eyes and lightly shaking his head to clear it, he gazed down at the doe to see that she was crying. Horrified and heartbroken, Liam leaned down and nuzzled her cheek before he could stop himself. "Shh...it is alright, Herla. You are safe," he whispered, his own eyes growing a little misty and she snuggled closer to him. He did not know if she had heard him, but he hoped at least that in her subconscious his actions comforted her. Oh, Herla...what is wrong? A lovely doe like you shouldn't be so sad...
"Yoo make my head hurt
The small stag sighed while sitting next to the peacock-feathered doe. He looked slightly desperate and horrible overtaxed with the situation.
On the one hand he was close to a panic attack of a possible sudden nuzzle the whole time, on the other hand his curiousity towards this doe was much to pushing to let him run away. (besides that.... his pride wouldn't allow him to run away anyways.)
((haha don't mind me... you can ignore this if you want xD))
Liam: If Herla would have
morsch: “I make your head…hurt?” she stuttered in response to the stag. She had spent the better part of an evening, flirting with and taunting this stag and THAT is what he said to her? How infuriating. The black doe stomped her foot in irritation and fluffed up her feather mantle. Couldn’t he see she was gorgeous? Why, he should be flattered she had chosen him for her attentions. She put on her most pouty face and turned her back on him, “Well then, if I am so very distressing to you, I shall leave. I’m sure I will have no problem finding somebody who appreciates my company. I’ll just walk all by myself through the dark scary forest. I’m sure I’ll be fine. Don’t you worry about me."
(( and no problem, feel free to jump in! ))
Ohhhh. Corvetta will love
(I'm so very sorry that Liam
When she relaxed once more as she drifted back into the subconscious, Liam breathed a soft sigh and closed his eyes. He listened to the wind rustling between the vines of the ageless willow, the rippling of water as deer waded through it, and the sound of Herla breathing steadily in her sleep. It was enough to make him drift off once more, and since he had slept while sitting up before it did not bother him in the least. He only hoped that Herla would not suffer from any more nightmares. It was awful to see something so beautiful cry...
((kaitlyn, I look forward to
((Uruushou, no worries, right after Herla said hi, I plunked her down in the pond and went to make dinner.
(Oh, alrighty then! 8D Haha,
Blixt: "What a silly little
((Herla’s just flirting and
“Well a doe just wants a gentleman’s attention, is that too much to ask?” she asks, feigning hurt indignation. She certainly didn’t want to remind anybody of a child relative. She was a mature doe. And a pretty one at that, she thought conceitedly . The green stag looked like the surely sort. He would know how to keep a doe safe. She partly hid her face behind her feather fan and looked up at the stag , widening her eyes and looking frightened, “I’m sure a big strong stag such as yourself would like to watch over a little doe like me, make sure nothing in this forest harms her, right?”
"Erm...I suppose so...", his
This doe made him remember a doe he once loved, though....the one that he and Dond fought over. He never wanted to go to a place like that again, hoping he'd never have to deal with losing a mate again. He let out a sigh here.
I nearly died because of a doe...do I really want to go through that again?, he thought.
Herla was disappointed that
Blixt tilted his head.
"I said I'd protect you...", Blixt spoke, but under his breath, he said, "Though it seems like you'd be able to take care of yourself..."
Herla brightened when he said
Herla brightened when he said he would protect her, so her charms where still working! She didn’t catch what he muttered under his breath, so she forged on ahead, “Oh brave stag, I would be ever full of gratitude if you could escort me to the pond.” and she gave a little doe bow. “I do get so frightened walking by myself in the darker parts of the woods.” And here she was being sincere but she would never elaborate more than that.
((Alright, bedtime for me, work in the morning. Plus you know you’re tired when you keep trying press and hold the right mouse button to make the camera zoom when you are looking at TEF screenshots! Thanks for RPing with Herla!))
Youknow I really love her
(sorry, went to bed yesterday
He startled a little bit as the doe stomped her hoof to the ground.
What... what was now? Did he say something wrong again?
He layed back his ears, ruffleing up his fur as well.
It was not that he didn't get the concept of attraction, impressing and flirting... it was just that he was a little too simple minded and slow to recognize it on first sight.
The stumps of his wings twitched up and down in nervousness as the doe turned her back on him. Oh, he had the horrible feeling he had done...said... something wrong, but he had no idea what it was. And this made him even more nervous and excited.
"No... no is okay" he replied hastily "my head hurts a lot, actually so is no problem." he nodded with affection, feverish thinking of a way to rescue the situation somehow and make the doe a little more.... well... not so offended anymore.
"and the forest is not that scary, I think.... or not...? I mean yoo don't need to walk there, if yoo don't want. I mean..."
it seemed he pushed himself too hard with this task once more. "I mean...." he shifted his weight from hoof to hoof thinking of what he could say... "Uhm... I mean...uhm, pretty feathers yoo have?"
((No problem morsch! Sorry
Herla was hardly listening to the strange stag, so annoyed she was with him. Until she heard the complement about her feathers, then instantly her eyes brightened and she half turned back towards him. She fluffed her mantle and batted her eyelashes at him, rolling her shoulder seductively. “Oh! Well then…that’s okay then. My name is Herla.” she sauntered back and gave him one her most adoring looks, partially hiding her face behind her fan. “So, you like my feathers?”
((Thanks Nopje! ))
(Aww, Liam scared poor Herla
((Don’t worry, Herla likes
(Haha, I figured as much! But
Quad: *waves from the other
Herla struts and fans her
((Herla is just ridiculously conceited sometimes!))
Quad: Err...aren't
((LMAO!)) Herla: "Why, I
Herla: "Why, I never!" *queen of righteous indignation.*
Quad backs up,
Sorry! That was supposed to be a compliment! Peacock antlers are...well...I find them pretty on does.
He sulks, realizing he had offended the other deer.
“Oh, okay.” the does
Quad nods five times. Oh
A silly question, but that was to be expected from a silly fat blackbuck.
((Going to bed. Night XD))
“Er…eh…” Herla’s face
((haha, okay! Good night, Quad!
