She attacked the Old Oak in anger, which caused the antler to crack in the first place, then various fights made the crack larger until a huge part of the antler fell off. xD I thought about this happening for a while, but it wasn't until today when she accidentally got the space beluga antlers I decided to let her lose her zombie antlers for a while.

It is amusing, and feminine and...weird. xD But yes, I did thought of that to, they were her original antlers, so it's nice to see her with them again. n__n

I don't know how long it should take for her antlers to grow, though. Guess I'll figure that out. xD

"A huge part of the cracked antler fell off." Illrose replied, pouting behind the skull mask.
"So I had to remove the rest of it, and the whole other antler, unless I wanted to walk around like this." She tilted her head to the side, showing how the remaining antler would have disturbed her balance. She straightened her head again, looking at Toukan with a little smile.
"But I guess they'll grow back, just like your antlers when you have shed them."

I just wonder, when Toukan shed his antlers, how long do you wait before you change to a new pair of antlers? :b

I can imagine Kahlan laughing at her if she sees her without her antlers.

Phai's eyes run across the more recent wounds on her friend's body, brows knit tightly together in worry. "What have you been doing?" Obviously something dangerous. Good grief.

Ah, so that's what happened. He nodded in understanding, but then snorted in laughter at her tilting her head. "Yea...that would definitely look odd, walking around like that." He forced way the laughter so he'd be talking normally again. "They may take awhile to grow back though. These," he tilted his head a bit to gesture at the rack atop his head that was still covered in velvet, "took four months to get like this." He hoped they were done growing, too. Much as large antlers were appealing, they seemed to double his height. It would be a problem if this forest had more trees.

[[I waited a few weeks after he shed them before starting to have them grow back. But that was because he lost them naturally and I figured the pedicles - the "roots" of the antlers basically - would need to heal a bit first. Then I switched them about every 3 weeks. (I'm bad and cheated a bit though. |D ) Even if I hadn't cheated, he'd still have them earlier than he should. But I use the excuse "TEF has magic"...and Toukan is just weird anyway. ;D XD]]

"Yes, it would. And I think my neck would have started to hurt after a while." She said with a slight chuckle. It had hurt to remove the other antler as well, but it was the only solution.
"Four months?" Illrose frowned, and then sighed. Only now when she had lost her antlers did she realized how much she had counted on them earlier. It was just like when she had lost her old skull mask, and the protection it gave her face.
"Oh well, I just have to be patient, then." And she had to admit, it was a relief to have smaller antlers for a while. She could even sit close to others without worrying about hitting them in the head with her antlers.

I was thinking about waiting a month between changing antlers, if I just have the patience. xD

"I don't even know what I did wrong, really. He just wouldn't let Bei be with Xetkal, and that was wrong. Xetkal was hurt, and he and Bei are together, I don't understand why Gustiro would go between them." She snorted in frustration, before she tried to calm down. It was all dealt with and settled now, no need to get upset about it again.
"You are not the only one who won't understand him." She added, before nodding.
"Yeah, I'm alright, thanks." She smiled, and nudged her skull gently into Phai's fur. She had been devastated when Gustiro rejected her, but company of good friends had soon lifted her mood again.

I believe Kheiron is just a bit possessive of Illrose, lol. Not like, the Gustiro-way, but he watches over her. And follows her around like a dog, lol :'D cute.

Phaios;

"Yes. At least, Bei is little. And I don't know what Xetkal did." Illrose shrugged, before she nodded in agreement.
"I always tried to deal with his jealousy patiently, but this time it got to much. It was wrong of him to keep Bei away from her mate, especially since Xetkal was hurt and probably needed her by his side.
"Yes, me to. It was a painful blow, but I'll get over it." She smiled at the other doe, seemingly more self-assured than she really felt. Illrose then chuckled, shaking her head.
"Yeah, guess we all are."

"Yeah, that's what I'm worried about - not having antlers to defend myself." She replied with a frown. Everyone who knew Illrose also knew she was an eager fighter, not always for the sake of fighting. but for protecting those she cared about. They would have to hide behind someone else now.
"But I admit this feels good." She tossed her head around playfully, halfway rearing up, feeling lighter now that she didn't carry the weight of her heavy antlers.

Well, as it's written in her thoughts, she know how it is to feel alone, and she doesn't wish that for others. And I think she have taken a liking to Lev, despite their disagreements. Aren't they cute, sitting together like this, almost like sisters? ^^
And that's alright, lol.

"You are welcome." Illrose smiled, resting her cheek against the soft fur of the doe next to her. She then sighed.
"Oh, various stuff. Fighting myself, fighting others...one antler broke, and I had to remove the other one." It was her own fault the antler had cracked in the first place, because she was unable to hold back her rage.
"But what about your antlers?" She then asked. She may have noticed Leviathann had missed her antlers earlier, but that was during her attack on Gustiro, so she had been rather busy, to say the least.

And yeah, they do look a lot like sisters. 8D I'm glad Illrose likes her, because I think Leviathann has also grown fond of 'Rose. c:


"You're life sounds about as complicated, if not more complex, than mine." Leviathann shook her own head, a weak chuckle escaping her jaws. The question about her antlers made her hesitate for a moment. "They tend to fall of with the seasons... Mine managed to pick the worst possible time to shed, though." She explained, with a tilt of her head. She then shifted slightly closer and began gently grooming the dark doe's back and neck, as some sort of thanks, since the words wouldn't really form.

Leviathann almost stopped when the other doe began to return the favor, but she forced herself to continue her work on Illrose's neck. She removed a few twigs here and there, and some other random debris. "Well, they fell off just before the spat between Noelle and Umay..." she thought back. "And tensions seem to be running high right now. It's hard to know who is going to attack, and who is going to step down. Y'know?" The doe opened her jaws slightly and picked at something stuck on Illrose's shoulder, her ears twisting back slightly.

"It was pretty chaotic." Leviathann agreed, with a little chuckle. "I'm glad others were there to stop the attack, because honestly I'm useless against many deer when I first loose my antlers. I get awkward and clumsy. They're not even that big, but they're certainly heavy, so everything gets harder." The doe silently recounted the many times she'd tripped while trying to stop Noelle, and then pinned her ears back as she thought about the different deer she'd slammed into because her balance was off. Sure, it was funny now but then it'd been so frustrating. With no antlers and her body already wounded, she hadn't been able to do much. Illrose spoke again, making Levi look up as she dislodged the object from the dark does shoulder."Well, we'll just have to watch each others back from now on, eh?"

[ ah, sorry about that. D8 I had to leave anyways, and I was doing other things during that time so I didn't notice Illrose trying to get her up. mybadd. .___. ]



"Supposedly Umay attacked Virgil, who is Noelle's brother. I guess it was supposed to be a revenge thing. Nasty business." Leviathann stated, a hint of disgust creeping into her voice. She hated revenge, and while she enjoyed sparring and fighting, unfair battles made her blood boil. But before she could launch into a rant, Illrose changed the subject, and Levi happily followed her example. "Indeed, I'm honored you would trust me to watch your back. We does have to stick together, right? We can't let those stags trample all over us. We're better than that." Levi snorted, giving a convicted nod, before laughing lightly and nudging Illrose's neck with her skull.

Golden ears laying back awkwardly, I gave some steps towards the couple sitting in the water, trembling slightly and not of cold.
I had watched each of them for a long while already. It would sound creepy to never introduce myself.
To introduce myself, not to know them. I suspected they didn't know half of what I knew that they knew that I knew.
