"I'm just here to look cute while you hit 'read more'."

Painted and attached antlers. They need to be touched up but otherwise done.
Cut into the sides and inserted the 'flames'.

Finally started working on this again.
Sewed on the head.
Added eyes.
put antlers in place.
Took off antlers and working on painting them a proper colour.
cutting the sides and flames once I have the supplies tonight.
February 3, 2010
Technically finished right after midnight.
Bylah now has a basic body but no head. The antlers are still drying.
No detail work has been added yet.
Also:
Glitter is the herpes of crafting. It's EVERYWHERE.
If I had regular glue to harden the antlers I would have used them but I was out of luck.

Finished the basic wire frame. Started cutting out the body, tail, ears, and basic head out of black felt. Cut out the antlers and currently coating them with glitter glue to give texture and stability. The antlers will be painted over once I get the proper colour of acrylic paint. For now they're sparkly and *fabulous*.

Yesterday night I started building the wire frame. So far it is a headless neck/body with two front legs. I will be working on the back legs sometime today depending on how motivated I am. I have college work looming over my head so I am not overly enthused to pick it up with all of the technology problems centered around needing a laptop before tuesday.

Looked at the materials I gathered earlier today and once again got stuck over what Fabric I should use. Decided to start with the antlers. I am still leaning towards the gray though the ivory is tempting. I will have to get more fabric in the future should I go that route. If I were one to make a prototype I might have brought that into account.
I have decided to attempt to paint the insides of the stuffing to simulate the fires of destruction.
I have no decided the best method to go about doing so yet.
The wire frame will have a ribcage. I have glanced upwards and realized I have inadvertently transported myself to the year 20010. It is familiar here. We still do not have flying cars. I have chosen not to correct this error as I find it far more amusing to keep it intact.

Drew and cut out the main pattern out of card stock.
Copied and printed out a second head to try and make a skull pattern.
Started Brainstorming how to make the skull.
Spent 10 minutes drawing and cutting out gigantic antler pattern.
Started picking out felt:
Ivory
Starry black or black
(Would starry black be appropriate?)
Red
Cranberry
Gray (far too light, i'll have to paint it for stability and colour)
collected other supplies:
Paint and wire.
considered starting to build the wire frame.
Looked at the clock.
Realized I only have about a half hour until class and put it off until Friday.
Excuse lack of pictures for a while until my laptop *hopefully* repairs itself.
Yes, I'm having far too much fun with photoshop.

*stalkstalk*
Can't wait to see how this
I wouldn't hold your breath.
I'm thinking of somehow cutting up the sides so the inside stuffing 'guts' leaks out once it's assembled.
*Ssssssssssstalk.* It and
It and Plushvana can be friends. > >
For a short time at least.
For as flattered as I am -
Edit: If you're doing this for you - for you to keep, that is - then totally IGNORE what I just said, obviously.
I actually thought of that
I found Bylah interesting and wanted to pick at a test subject for new framework and design.
I figure a picture of a hand craft good is superior to that of a badly done pencil sketch (my scribbles are truly atrocious) and it will amuse the hell out of my cousin who will run about the house yelling of how shes making the mean looking deer eat the sparkly one.
Okay.
I will definitely be
I'm still stuck on that stupid skull head. -dies-
But I won't be picking up anything more than the wire framing until at least sunday when my lovely laptop Widget is back in my possession along with the software for my laptop/camera so I can hit you up on MSN for all the little details.
I have found that the small children in my life are more willing to keep their tiny little hands off my delicate paper crafts and pottery if there are silly deer, octopi, birds, rabbits, etc. littered around the room for them to grab at and run about with instead.
Made a bit of progress
The antlers are coming along nicely.
Can't wait to see it
