A little piece I wanted to put together.
Using my fawn for this lil' drabble...
This is nothing uber special I cooked this up in half an hour. xD But I hope the messages are clear. :3
Today it was snowing, and the fawn just wanted to play.
And that was precisely what it did. It galloped in all directions, it raced between the grown ups, it danced beneath them. For the most part, the youngster stayed close and participated in some of their games, as well as trying to snatch the entire spotlight for itself.
But with the typical patience of a five year old and the energy of something that had clearly eaten too many sweet Blueberries for one's own good, it soon grew bored of them. It wanted to be the center of attention now! Not nibble on grasses beside the banks of the pond.
And so it bolted from the grown ups, rearing and calling them to follow. They didn't. So with a huff, it dashed to even higher grounds and started to rear and call louder.
That got their attention!
With a cheeky little grin upon it's adorable features, having captivated it's audience below, it started to dance for but a moment, before rearing at the soft snowflakes that fell from the heavens--
--Cut off the moment it slipped, rump hitting the icy ground hard. And without stopping, the fawn proceeded to tumble down the slope and right into the pond with a mighty splash!
But it did not drown, oh no.The fawn kicked it's legs hard, and it was swimming like something very much un-deer-like. The gods would not let death come, and so they not only bestowed the ability to swim, they had turned the little fawn into a frog! And so the fawn kicked and it kicked towards the calls of it's grown up companions, and before long, it had found the shallows.
Immediately it's freezing cold shivering form was met by the large and very fluffy figure of Iaurdagnire - the fawn knew at this point it would be safe and so it was lead to the safer banks where it curled up close later to fall asleep, warm in his embrace.
"What have we learnt? Not to go playing on high banks in such weather lest you fall in and catch a chill!"
As for the poppies left floating on the surface of the pond? Well, perhaps it was a coincidence that they should be left floating there for a while, or perhaps it was fate, and there was a meaning behind this floating flora.
Awww this is too cute! So
You should definitely do more
I like how you used the writing style to emphasize the Fawn's innocence.
