To those who have suggested a permanent addition to the Forest in honor of Flyleaf:
While I agree it would be a lovely tribute, historically M&A have elected not to add any permanent marker for members who have passed, although a temporary memorial spot has existed before.

If M&A decided to change their stance I would be thrilled. I think it is beautiful that people would like to have a permanent tribute; it speaks to Flyleaf's beautiful nature. However, I don't think people should get their hopes up or, worse, get upset if M&A say 'no' because they think someone else was given special treatment while Fly was not (which is untrue).

If anyone would like further reading regarding the matter, please feel free to ask and I will gladly direct you to the appropriate post/s.

Remember, Flyleaf's last request to us was to throw him a huge sending-off party -- not to mourn or build monuments. The best way we can honor him is to honor the love he had for the Forest's joy and to spread it where he no longer can.

So either whoever told me that had it wrong, or I was remembering it wrong. This was before I joined so I don't know what was or wasn't part of the forest at the time. And I only said they MIGHT add something, because I thought they'd done it before, not that they should or would. I don't think they should have been contacted about it, either, it's up to them whether it's something they want to do or not and that should be respected.

Is anyone still interested in a party, or was the abio the perfect send-off? I am happy to leave it be if so. I wasn't present whilst the gods were there, so I don't know what exactly happened.

Also I was beginning to worry last night, I apologise if I asked the question too soon as regards planning a party... I worry now that it seemed disrespectiful, perhaps I should have waited a few days?
-- I imagined this potential 'party' to be to celebrate Flyleaf and his life, seeing as it was what he requested. It is hard to see a positive around death, but that's why I thought celebrating him as a person would be nice for him.

I just wanted to fulfill his wishes. And I apologise if any of it came off wrong? (Maybe it didn't, maybe it's just my mind being silly.) :x

To be honest Starling, I liked your idea to make party for Flyleaf.
His cheering and sunny personality probably wanted us to make like "party" and cheer the others, even so this is not happy that his passing away.
I'm pretty sure this is very big piece for everyone, it was closer friends or just met.

Yes this, Celebrating him as a person and good friend who he was to everyone in the forest, to celebrate that he was a good, sweet, kind, amazing person that TEF had for these years.

tho, maybe this 'party' plannin came too early, but I would join and celebrate, everything good that flyleaf did for us, for the community with himself and his deer.

Starling, your heart is in the right place. Whether you knew him well or not, I think he'll appreciate it all the same. If this is something you want to do, I see no reason you can't.

I think it was kind of you to step forward, Starling, to fulfill his wish if you feel able to contribute to it.

Urschanabi - aw... The gathering is all thanks to you lovely people though! I was barely even there for most of the time, I'm just so grateful that everyone joined in. And of course you all did, because the community always comes together at times like this. So thank-you. <3

A party he wanted, a party it shall be. A long one, so everyone has the chance to participate no matter the time zone.
