Intro | Basic Info

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day…

It’s a soggy day in the forest, the air heavy with the scent of rain. Sullen clouds muster overhead, blotting out the blue sky at the gods’ behest. Everything is gray and dark. A dull, quiet day, perhaps. But not for long.

In the midst of the downpour, a small gray statue plummets down, smashing into the rain-wet mud in front of the ruins with an echoing thud. The birds of the forest go quiet for a moment, concerned by the interruption. But no statue follows the first and so they resume their singing. The lone stone settles deeper into the mud in front of the largest statue, as if carving out its own place. This would be normal for the forest, of course—save for the fact that no god’s hand had sent this statue down.

Within minutes of its arrival, it looks as ancient as any of the other statues ringed around the Ruins, covered in moss and weather-beaten by years of elements it couldn’t have been present for. A small crack on the statue’s face darkens and seems almost to fade—as if the statue were a living thing. It tilts gently to one side as it sinks into the mud.

When Eyes finds it, the statue looks as if it had been there a hundred years or more, perhaps back to the time when it wasn’t deer who roamed the forest. He studies it with a curious air, then sits down beside it to wait.

There will be more soon.

Outside the Ruins, just in front of the largest statue.

Guidelines.

Anyone can participate. Writing or drawing skill is not necessary.
Art rp, text rp, in-game rp, even just putting it in your updates--all is welcome. However, please give me a heads up if you do the last two. I tab out a lot and I might not see your updates either. : (
For anything that you think may directly affect the plot and isn't posted on the plot entry itself, please contact me.

Please interact as if your character is attempting to take an action.
Example: "Xander attempts to steal the stone, determined to have the shiny all for his own". There's more info down in the RP rules section, but I figured it was worth stating again.

It doesn't have to be canon.
Your character's involvement can be treated as something that actually happened to them or just a fun exercise for you as a writer to develop them. But if your character makes a lasting impression on another (ex. they get in a fight, they form some kind of relationship, etc) please discuss with the other player.

No NSFW or extremely dark content here.
These rps are meant to be for everyone. Anything you'd consider above a T rating in a movie, please rp in private. As always, use your discretion!

Keep basic rp rules in mind.
Here's a little guide:

  1. Don't control other people's characters.

  2. When taking an action against another character, do not assume your action succeeds.
A good rule of thumb is to write as if your character is aiming to do something. "Suzie kicked at Jasmine, aiming for her torso".

  3. Take and deal realistic damage.
Having a character who can use incredible godly powers or take tons of hits without being hurt isn't fun for anyone.

  4. Do not metagame.
If information is posted on a bio somewhere or otherwise not obvious to a character, your character shouldn't know it. You may assume that Eyes told your character anything that's posted on the main post, though.

  5. Everything here is in-character.
    Please keep it that way.

Interact with others.
You are strongly encouraged to interact with other characters and players. The plot is just a framework!

Keep posts between you and another member(s) ('1x1ing') that don't relate directly to the plot to two posts each.
Of course, you're welcome to continue that rp in private. This rule is just to keep the plot moving.
