test css 2 -- and another, just in case.
Intro | Basic Info
Rain, rain, go away, come again another day…
It’s a soggy day in the forest, the air heavy with the scent of rain. Sullen clouds muster overhead, blotting out the blue sky at the gods’ behest. Everything is gray and dark. A dull, quiet day, perhaps. But not for long.
In the midst of the downpour, a small gray statue plummets down, smashing into the rain-wet mud in front of the ruins with an echoing thud. The birds of the forest go quiet for a moment, concerned by the interruption. But no statue follows the first and so they resume their singing. The lone stone settles deeper into the mud in front of the largest statue, as if carving out its own place. This would be normal for the forest, of course—save for the fact that no god’s hand had sent this statue down.
Within minutes of its arrival, it looks as ancient as any of the other statues ringed around the Ruins, covered in moss and weather-beaten by years of elements it couldn’t have been present for. A small crack on the statue’s face darkens and seems almost to fade—as if the statue were a living thing. It tilts gently to one side as it sinks into the mud.
When Eyes finds it, the statue looks as if it had been there a hundred years or more, perhaps back to the time when it wasn’t deer who roamed the forest. He studies it with a curious air, then sits down beside it to wait.
There will be more soon.
Outside the Ruins, just in front of the largest statue.
Headcanons this plot uses.
* The forest is much bigger than it appears on-screen. Someone can walk for days without even leaving the first forest.
* The edges of the forest fade into something that's not considered a part of TEF. It's still a woodland and TEF deer still exist, but it has things that aren't seen in the main woods.
*The Gods create and maintain the weather. Abiogenisises are considered canon.
Basic information.
A statue has fallen outside the Ruins. No Gods could have done it, but it seems to resemble any other statue around the Ruins. There is a deep indention under where it fell and a small crack running across the right side of its face. Oddly, it seems moss has grown on it already. Mud clots the bottom of the stone and has splashed up its side.
The statue can be removed from its landing place, rolled over (with effort), moved, taken, and generally speaking, interacted with however you'd like. Some actions might carry interesting results, though.
Please write your posts as if your character has attempted to do these things, though! No action is sure to succeed...or succeed in the way you might expect.
If your character looks closer, they'll find the statue looks and feels identical to any other statue around the ruins, save for the small crack. It smells faintly of ozone and tastes about as you'd expect a statue covered in moss to taste. If your character has especially good hearing or listens very closely, a nearly inaudible humming sound can be heard around the 'heart' of the statue.
Eyes lays nearby, watching the statue and any who approach. He looks however your character believes he looks and can offer information on the statue and other rumors around the forest. Think of him like a friendly npc.
Guidelines.
Anyone can participate. Writing or drawing skill is not necessary.
Art rp, text rp, in-game rp, even just putting it in your updates--all is welcome. However, please give me a heads up if you do the last two. I tab out a lot and I might not see your updates either. : (
For anything that you think may directly affect the plot and isn't posted on the plot entry itself, please contact me.
Please interact as if your character is attempting to take an action.
Example: "Xander attempts to steal the stone, determined to have the shiny all for his own". There's more info down in the RP rules section, but I figured it was worth stating again.
It doesn't have to be canon.
Your character's involvement can be treated as something that actually happened to them or just a fun exercise for you as a writer to develop them. But if your character makes a lasting impression on another (ex. they get in a fight, they form some kind of relationship, etc) please discuss with the other player.
No NSFW or extremely dark content here.
These rps are meant to be for everyone. Anything you'd consider above a T rating in a movie, please rp in private. As always, use your discretion!
Keep basic rp rules in mind.
Here's a little guide:
- Don't control other people's characters.
- When taking an action against another character, do not assume your action succeeds.
A good rule of thumb is to write as if your character is aiming to do something. "Suzie kicked at Jasmine, aiming for her torso".
- Take and deal realistic damage.
Having a character who can use incredible godly powers or take tons of hits without being hurt isn't fun for anyone.
- Do not metagame.
If information is posted on a bio somewhere or otherwise not obvious to a character, your character shouldn't know it. You may assume that Eyes told your character anything that's posted on the main post, though.
- Everything here is in-character.
Please keep it that way.
Interact with others.
You are strongly encouraged to interact with other characters and players. The plot is just a framework!
Keep posts between you and another member(s) ('1x1ing') that don't relate directly to the plot to two posts each.
Of course, you're welcome to continue that rp in private. This rule is just to keep the plot moving.
FAQ.
What is this?
Plot posts on the account 'adventurehub' are considered community plots. Any character can know about them and choose to participate.
Plot length and content will vary. Some might be dark, some silly and light. Some might be shorter and some might be longer.
This is really experimental and I don't know if it'll work out! So please bear with me.
How does this work?
I'll post a plot with a few details. Your characters can use those details how they want. Investigate, try to steal something, attempt to destroy everything, whatever. Eyes will always be nearby to fill in new ocs on what's happening, so your characters are welcome to ask him questions.
When a character takes an important action, I'll roll a die for the success of that action so it's unbiased. For example, stealing a piece of the scene will get a die rolled.
Once something's discovered or achieved, the plot will continue. Think of it like those old-timey community plots. Discoveries and current location will be listed on the top post for anyone coming in late.
What do you do?
I'm here to keep the plot moving. I'll also control Eyes if anyone needs him. None of my characters save him will be participating for now, but I'll control the setting and any props.
I'll post at least once per day with what was successfully discovered etc. If the RP gets really fast or important plot points are hit, I might post more often to keep it moving.
How long will it last?
Each open plot will last exactly one week. This one is a test run to see if I'm able to do it and how it works etc.
Old plots will be listed on the hub with whether or not they were finished.
