Meet him, get to know him, and you'll find out what type of deer he is.
It's your fault, making me obsess over yours.
I'm always searching for tunes such as these, something haunting, and digs into my head and sometimes make me feel ill.
I was looking into the band who did your bio song and found this in a wolf tribute vid. I'll remove it if you feel I'm copying you, 'cause to be honest I kinda feel like I am. Haha.
Chances are when I stumble upon a better tune this one will be replaced anyway. x3
Hey in response to what you said a couple posts up- are you looking for 'this is so beautiful it's haunting' sort of music or 'this is so nightmarish it's haunting'? Because I've got an album or two that are genuinely the most unsettling things I've ever listened to (on the other hand they're probably not suited for theme songs or anything.)
I think I'm looking for something unsettling and eeriee, but to be honest I don't know.
The song just has to leap out and catch me, stand out and all that weird stuff.
So I really can't describe what it is I'm looking for.
I think beautiful haunting is the type I seek, something that describes the deeper internal mind of this character without words.
Hm...
Ok, I know how hard it can be to encapsulate a complicated feeling in just a word. This music is on the verge of being unlistenable for a lot of people, while others find themselves listening to it over and over again for some bizarre reason (I do, anyway ) It's probably not what you're looking for though, it's not about beauty at all. But there are two exceptions in my opinion. Probably the most accessible of Walker's avant-garde work.
There's Farmer in the City (I didn't pick this one for the reason you're thinking =p) and Patriot
Sitting a few feet from him, she studies him carefully. Velvet tines, that she gathers would be sharper than blades once they matured. She watches the way his muscles quiver, perhaps a silent desire for something more than just playing games and sitting nonchalantly.
But if one thing catches her eye, it is the scar; X-shaped, branded into his muzzle. It's so perfect, so...intriguing. She's tempted to simply waltz up to him and touch it; but she barely knows this built stag, and her little frame quivers with a festering aggravation.
Her eyes lock with his, and she feels that wisdom, that power that slept within him. She quivers again, intrigued and insanely curious.
Blinking, she brushes away those thoughts, those feelings. She speaks softly, low-toned; it was highly pleasant to hear.
Don't think that what happened previously means I trust you.
Her ears flick, catching the sounds of deer brawling in the backround, of birds chirping in excitement. She briefly glances over him again, before finishing what she intended to do.
However...I thank you for your help in ridding that nuisance. You have my respect...Sir.
The deer didn't need to use his eyes to know he had company. His ears were so sensitive, they could not only tell him there was another around, but it identified the sound each step made. Something small, he was quick to recognise the light pitter patter of a pawed creature he was all too familiar with back in his homeland, the 'world of mountains' as he so fondly regarded them.
Ah, a fox.
Not many knew it, but Virgil had respect for the small carnivorous creature. Although he would usually prefer to avoid them as instinct tends to influence. He never before heard of any dangerous conflict between a fox and his kind.
And he was a large deer. If a fox was to attack with uncharacteristic stupidity for such an intelligent and crafty creature, the Hart would have little trouble at all in defending himself and seeing the small animal away.
His timing must have been perfect, he looked at the fox in time for their eyes to meet. While the vixen read him, he read her too.
He studied her, examined her. Every tiny detail he could pick up and recognise. Everything that made the Red Fox such a beautiful and unique yet deceiving animal. He can sense the potential intelligence of the smaller creature, and he would not underestimate what could be darting around in the mind of the little creature with such character in her features.
She spoke, his ears stood erect and absorbed every word that came forth from that charming little maw of hers. He did not blink, and no emotion crossed over his naturally subtle facial features. Not even in his eyes, one of which appeared a light hazel where the sunlight melted into it so well, the other, sheltered by shade, was as dark as land recently slain by fire.
His warm voice came forth shortly after she finished. "You are welcome." He paused. "But do offer a thank you to my dear friend Lady Poltergeist, I would not like to take away the gratitude she too deserves."
If one was to look closely enough, one may just have seen the warm yet subtle smile that flashed briefly in his eyes and crossed over his maw.
(And the way you describe V...HOLY. CRAP. *Flails* Amazing <3)
She laughs quietly, not biting and harsh, simply gentle, and perhaps...amused.
Mm...the doe who caries babes within her belly.
Her eyes flicker, tongues of flame licking at the surface. Offspring...it was never an end goal of hers, but she found herself humoured with the thought of children running around, chaos reigning over peace.
She catches his brief smile, and her own maws widen slightly, just as warm, but just as detached as well.
I will be sure to thank her...and now, I must leave. Again, my trust in you is still far off, but my respect still stands. And I thank you for your help.
Picking her self up gracefully, she bows swiftly, before darting off through the long grass, picking up the scent of a certain pregnant doe.
Uh 8D; I'm not sure to be honest! It's there, but they havent actually said anything, it's unspoken between them. I'd also like to make something special, but the time isn't right. There's a few milestones to cover yet...
I don't really know where they stand in that area. xD

The Baal Plot was the time I first came to TEF. /nostalgia
I arrived about a day or two after the fawn's death, so that was my first memory. I remember seeing Ephra putting up the artwork, reading all of Baal's entries, it was all so interesting for me. Apparanza was my only deer during this time, and she grew close to Virgil and Ephra <3 She witnessed two battles between Vir and Baal.
