Hi there!
I just stumbled over this game and find the concept very interesting since it is not geared towards the usual game goals. Yesterday, I created a little fawn and went exploring. All the other deer I met were very nice (I think; bowed to everyone...sometimes even multiple times). One gave me new skins all the time, while another played 'jump over the brook' with me
Since I am totally new to all of this: where does the RP take place and how do you know with whom you are RPing with (I am still terrible at reading the pictograms)? Do you play the game and simultaneously write posts here with the deer you are ingame? Or do you play first and write RP-posts about it later? I am slightly confused and would be very glad if somebody could help me.
Best wishes,
Aerdureth and her little (with pictogram but sans name) fawn
Hello and welcome to TEF :)
RP usually takes place either here on the community site, or over a chat between players. You can usually click pictos on the map to see who they are (latest generation pictograms haven't shown up yet, though).
And sometimes people play in-forest and then write about it in their characters' bios. I don't think there is a right or wrong way do to it, just do what feels best or what you think seems easiest. Personally I tend use both skype and the community site.
Here's a good place to start reading about things: TEFc Directory
First off, Welcome to the
As for your questions, role play typically takes place via Skype, blog posts, and rarely email. Some people find it easiest to be in game and role-playing over Skype , others forgo the game and just write their stories together in the program of their choosing. Some role play first then play around in game. It's really just up to the role players and what they are comfortable doing.
AS for telling everyone apart that comes with time. The more you read over character bios , the more deer you'll be able to put a name to thier pictos.

Thanks a lot for the welcome
I'll continue to run around and get to know the forest and its inhabitants then while I work on some CSS thingie for my bio:
