Well haaaaai everybody I'm new here and I just hope that I may be able to make some new friends. ^^' I've actually already downloaded the game like... Was it yesterday or the day before? Well whatever... But the deer are a little creepy with the human faces... But other than that the game is ADORABLE!!!
Did Tale of Tales get the concept of the deer from Princess Mononoke? Just wonderin' since the deer from the movie and this game are very similar.

I don't think they got the concept from it, but there is a mask called the Forest Spirit mask that looks really similar to the Forest Spirit's (from Princess Mononoke) face.

As you've noticed, you can't keep magic as a fawn, but fawn's are the only ones that are able to get some of the coolest pelts in the Forest (I think) -shrug- So there is an upside to being a fawn~
Oh, you'll soon enough get accustomed to the human faces, a lot of us here have come to adore them :3

Deer with human faces aren't that unusual, at least in the artistic world! Frida Kahlo has a painting of herself as a deer, and I've seen pictures of a group of taxidermy deer with (sculpted) human faces, as well as a wooden human faced deer wearing a nun's habit, which was admittedly kind of silly looking x)
Our artists here are very talented and make this somewhat strange concept into something very beautiful. Once you've been here for a while, you might start to wonder WHY deer don't have human faces!
Some of the pelts look different only on fawns, so be sure to take a good look when somebody gives you a pelt spell. You might just get inspired!
