This... movie...

When I saw this movie... I just stood there.... watched the credits... and then... just stood there some more.... thinking... wow.

Just, please. Watch the movie. You'll be sitting in your chair thinking what I thought: Wow.

Watch the parts in order, and... well, just watch it. Just. Watch. The. Movie.

It may seem like a childish movie at first, but please, just watch the whole thing, without pausing or anything.... Just watch.

I think I watched this when I was very young, but I hardly remember it. I will give it another watch. Thank you for posting this; it goes to show that animated movies don't have to be just for kids. If you want to watch some really depressing animated films, give Plague Dogs and Grave of the Fireflies a watch; both are masterpieces.

"Life deals out few things besides pain. But from that pain, you'll grow sharp, strong fangs...though they may not be the kind you can see."

It's true, isn't it? Where we are broken, we can grow either love or fangs.

Oh my god. This is so beautiful. Wow indeed.
I was thinking I was gonna watch just a couple minutes, but I kept watching. It's totally sweet and true. And I also really love the music in it!!

Oh and I have to admit, I cried a few tears...

Very sad, but I liked it. The soft look and movement of the animals is nice to watch. Lately I've been especially interested with 70s anime because of the simple tools used to evoke emotion and tell allegorical stories. Thank you for sharing, it's a very good find.

"This is the most tasteful shock-movie of all time.

I love how it starts out as a G-rated disney-like movie, but then suddenly becomes a dark, violent, angry, and incredibly depressing R-rated film. Nobody expected the? tragic circumstances and the morbid ending."

lol. makes me want to look up the plot, but i wont.

I gave this a shot but ended up finding Chirin a bit incessantly annoying, but I enjoy the mood of this (at least what I saw). Reminds me of the animated 'Animal Farm' adaption of the book of the same title.

o____o Wow. I just got to watching this today. I was expecting some gore (LIKE in Felidae, I remember that movie, saw it within the past year and it was intriguing), so.. odd. Gotta admit I found Chirin pretty annoying too when he was young but I was curious so I kept watching.~ It was unique, I'm on the fence with this one but I think I liked it, it was pretty good. xD

lul chirin was pretty

lul chirin was pretty annoying when he was young, too many gasps and noises. his voice did help either >w<. the ending surprised me, i thought the wolf would end up killing him!

Well, I finally saw it.

Well, I finally saw it. Twice, because my sister wanted to see it too and I said "Well, why not see it again?" lol. Although I saw the movie in its original (japanese) version with subtitles, because English isn't my native language Sad (Chirin was a annoying in that version too >.<)
I liked it, specially the wolf, I LOVED the wolf, he looked fantastic and is an interesting character. And the music was very touching.

I like the Japanese version

I like the Japanese version more than the English version, and the reason is stated in one of the comments.

Japanese version - "I will grow fangs, the Fangs of my Heart. They will be there to protect me during my darkest hours. Someday, I will use them to kill you, Wolf."

English version - "THEN I CAN DO IT WOOWWW. I'll kill you with them!"

But I still really liked this movie. It was so sad.
BluedeerLegend18's picture

I agree. I don't mind

I agree. I don't mind watching a Japanese movie with the subtitles, without the subtitles even, because it's extremely easy to tell what's happening in the movie.

Though I still watch the English version because I can actually understand it without subtitles. But the Japanese version, well, I've always liked Japanese animes and stuff before, but... I think this is the best anime.
