Anyone can cast spells. But you have to do something specific to get the magic before you cast. To cast a pelt spell you have to lie down next to a sleeping deer for a bit (a sound will play when you've been there long enough.) TO cast mask spells, you have to eat mushrooms off the sides of trees. To cast antler spells, you have to eat a pinecone (and you get pinecones by rubbing up against certain trees).

Yep. You can learn a lot just by experimenting in game too, sometimes new options will pop up on the menu for you to try when you are near certain things. Just keep exploring and meeting other deer and you'll learn fast.

Yeah, real deer magic is much less pretty and basically just allows them to jump the extreme heights required to get over my fence and into my backyard to eat my garden. :\

Oh no worries, I can change back any time. Changing peoples' pelts is a pretty good game, if you're ever romping around with people it's pretty common to cast spells on them to try to make them look silly. There are a few deer who get annoyed by it but I think they just hate fun.

When there's a spell on you there will be an option that is golden, and when you click it more options reveal to show spells you are wearing. If you click one, your deer will sneeze and the magic will come off and show whichever spell you were wearing underneath.
