Looking for the veteran players with mad skills...

A rather odd request perhaps but I've found some limitations in the game that I'm not sure what to do with. One is I can't zoom in all the way and take a look at my fawn. At best I can get 20' close up but can't get right up to her eyes, I don't even know what color they are! I know C makes her look at me but she's still too far away.

Second thing, is there a way to go completely in first person mode? I find the immersion to be much better this way for some games and sometimes I just want to look around at the trees/flowers and NOT my deer's back end.

And lastly, I know there are some keybinds to some things (F1-F11 or so) but is there a way to re-keybind everything? I'd like to use the ASDW/1234 keys so I can hide my ui and not have to mouse click every action I want.

Any help in figuring these three things out will be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

1.That is the closest you

1.That is the closest you can zoom up. But there is a way to do closeups of other deer, and maybe another deer will do one of you!
Get ready for my awfull explaining-
To do closeups of another deer~ e.g you see a deer standing on a rock. Go behind the rock so that you can still see the other deer on your screen. When you go behind the rock, you should get a closeup of the other deer. (told you it was bad LOL)

2.No, unfortunatly there is not a away. But there has been discsussions about the idea hapening in Phase 4.

3.I don't quite understand what you've written, but if your talking about how you use hotkeys- all you do is hover your mouse over the action you want to use as a hotkey. Press either number from F1-F12. Except don't use F10 Coz that freezez the game!

Hope you understand this LOL and hope to see you in the forest some time! Eye

1: Collision boxes, yes! I didn't try it on the rocks because for some reason I associated them with the trees, which have none.

Thank you. I'll have to get my husband to help me take some better pics. =)

2: It seems silly there isn't a way to go into first-person mode seeing as this is a game for immersion and relaxation. But if they're working on phase 4 still then I'll be looking forward to that.

3: Thank you for telling me how to re-bind. That is quite handy for me but is there a way to re-bind over other keys such as: 1-10, asdwrqezc, Num-1-10, shift+(letter)? Without using the F1-12?

Knowing how to do that would help my ability to move/roleplay immensely. I came from a game where I had just about everything keybound so I didn't have to ruin immersion and click with my mouse constantly. Also, TEF is very sluggish so keybinding would make it so I don't have to depend upon a slow or disappearing cursor.^^

Thank you for responding. I'll keep an ear out for you in-game. =)

There actually is a way to go into first person mode. Trying looking around the forums.

Halogen, I have looked here

Halogen, I have looked here and there over the past couple days on the fourm and did read someone saying how they loved their close up. I just can't seem to find the post where someone actually explains how to do it. That's why I made this blog post in hopes someone who does know can share the tip.^^

Edit: While I have found tips on collision boxes (even on the forums) there is still no set key for close-up. Nor do I want to poke into my files (is there a rule against it?)

There is a very difficult to control way of going into first person, but it's lovely!

Go into Engine -> User Input, and put UserInputForFollowCam file on your desktop.
To go back to normal, just put it back.

In first person however you cannot turn the camera without walking, the camera only turns when you walk. Plus the camera is also higher up so you can't see people when they are right in front of you! Give it a try, it is fun though!

There is also a way of doing close-ups of yourself but I have yet to make it work.

No need to move files, just rename them. Stick a zero on the end of the file name or something, then remove the zero when you're finished! Smiling
