I'm not sure if there's a similar thread floating around, but I felt the need to make this thread anyway. Why?
Well, I am fascinated by dreams, as I'm sure most of us are. The thing is, I rarely dream (or remember them, anyway), but when I do they're weeeird.
This thread may fade into obscurity, but I would like for others to be able to share their dreams as well.
Who knows? Maybe writing about them will help them remember and understand their dreams better.
That being said, I'll start with the whacky and horrific dream I had last night that ultimately prompted this lame thread!

My dreams don't usually have a beginning per se, or a set-up. If they do, then I really don't remember. Maybe those aren't important in the context of dreams. Anywho, the first thing I remember is that I am standing in a condo with my whole family, at ground level, looking out towards the beach. This condo was literally on the beach, like on the actual sand. I could see beach-goers passing by the windows, they were very close.
So I'm looking out towards the ocean, and the waves are tall and rough despite it being sunny and nice outside. Suddenly I see something that looks like a fin cut through the swell of a wave, and a giant mass was being carried with it. Soon, a massive creature burst onto the shore, swinging its long neck about. I then cried out enthusiastically, "A plesiosaur!"
My dad then appears at my side, staring out towards the beach in disbelief. More prehistoric aquatic creatures begin to invade the shore, and the reaction to them is mixed. Some beach-goers scream and flee, others just stand and stare. I'm pretty sure a couple of them got eaten. I then turned to my dad and exclaim for some reason, probably because I'm stunned, "They're extinct!" His response was along the lines of a sarcastic, "Nooo, really?"
Up until that point, the dream was whimsical and pretty cool.
BUT THEN...
Of course, it had to take a dark turn. A particularly large creature throws itself onto shore, bursting from the impossibly high waves like a torpedo, and a detonation is heard. Apparently, a nuclear bomb was strapped to the frigging thing. The whole condo shakes, as does the beach. At this point, everyone screams and runs from the beach. Startled, I turn to face my dad who had backed up a few steps. His eyes were wide, and silently he slumped onto a chair and placed his hand against his forehead. That's definitely not a good sign. My dad then said slowly, "It's too late. We're going to die...we only have fifteen minutes." He sounded so defeated, so lost, which is horrifying because my dad is the pack leader of my family.
"No, we can get out of here on time!" I screamed, not believing a word I said. I begin to cry uncontrollably, and even in the dream I can feel my body shudder and my throat closing up. The prehistoric creatures are gone, and in their place is the gloomiest atmosphere you can think of, and people clinging to each other outside, sobbing.
I can't really remember what happened after that, but I do remember the despair and helplessness that I felt. My dreams like to tease me. I get to see some frickin' awesome prehistoric monster, and then whoops, nuclear bomb! Fifteen minutes to live! That may be attributed to my fear of dying, but I dunno, it seems pretty random to me.

Oh man, sorry for the wall of text!
In any case, feel free to post about any dreams you've had. This includes weird, funny, gloomy, sad, scary or just plain doesn't make sense. Anything goes!
They don't have to be new dreams, either. If you remember one from years ago that's always stuck with you, then go for it!
Dream speculation would be pretty cool, too, as long as it isn't invasive or personal.
Right! Have at you!
omg I'm so participating in
Yesssss! Only super weird
Only super weird how-does-that-make-any-sense dreams?
WOOT, thanks Vee! You can
Unplugged ~ Nope, any dream will be fine! I should make a note of that on the blog so there's no confusion. No restrictions are needed in here! 8D
My dreams always have to do
I've had more bizarre dreams, such as having to fight alien pirate lizardmen. That one was fun. I also had one where I was hanging out with Buster Bunny from the old cartoon show Tiny Toons, and he said he'd be right back, so in the distance I saw Elmer Fudd shoot him in the head, and then suddenly he was right next to me.
I often have recurring dreams, either not knowing where to go at my High School, being at a parking lot at night, or being at a mall where I find something really awesome (like a CD or a video game I have never seen before). Of course I wake up and am upset that I don't have whatever I had found in the dream.
Aside from those, I have many night terrors, where I open my eyes but am still dreaming. I often see snakes, spiders, scorpions, bees, ect in my bed. On my ceiling I've seen gun turrets that were about to shoot me. I've had my stuffed animals come to life, and recently saw a tiger by the side of my bed. I generally jump out of bed and run down the hall, my night terrors are frightening. It takes a little while to calm down.
Well, I get loads of dreams
Quad ~ I personally believe
That alien pirate lizard-men one sounds pretty epic, though! And thank goodness Buster Bunny didn't die. @_@ I have had that exact dream where I'm upset that I didn't get to take back with me what I had found. I wish I could remember what the objects were, but man was it a huge let-down when I woke up.
I'm very sorry to hear about your night terrors, though...that doesn't sound very pleasant at all. Are night terrors usually attributed to sleeping on your back? I've heard that if you sleep on your side or stomach you're less likely to have a night terror...or maybe I'm thinking about sleep paralysis.

Vee ~ Omg, I hate dreams that involving losing teeth! It's the absolutely worst when your tooth is getting broken, and you can feel the pressure being applied to it. Gahhh! D| ...now that I think about it, I wonder if people dream about that when they randomly grind their teeth in their sleep? Hmm.
Going to list a couple
Recurring
- I am in the woods, but make my way into a clearing with a broken down castle. I get chased up a stairway by a giant black deer, jump off, and head towards a swamp lined with a garden gate. Once I get there, I only have 15 seconds or so to unchain a person at the bottom of it. I only successfully released them once... and made it to the other side, where I battled a giant minotaur thing, complete with hitpoints and spells...
- I am in the jungle swinging around like Tarzan. This dream has never really lead up to anything or gone beyond that... that's all I do, swing around...
Recent
- Last night; I was in some daycare building with a few familiar faces. I remember wanting to go home, but I kept getting distracted. I was sitting in this mesh ball pit thing, and I had toilet paper... one of the kids taken a BM, but everyone on the outside seen me in there and thought I had done it. Although embarrassed, I got it all cleaned up, and when I got out this guy wanted me to go to the nearest convenience store and buy him taquitos.
- A few days ago; I was in a boarded building with various other people, a zombie apocalypse had broken out. We came up with a plan to send the smallest person in the room through this tunnel, which lead to the outside but was gated off(to prevent zombies from getting in). So basically this person was going to get there, see what all was going on. I wasn't the one to go, but I was switched over to this person, feeling the adrenaline and fear as if it were me, as if it were real. I get to the gate, and I look out, it is an empty street with a single light pole, the building on each side surrounding it. Nothing could be seen, but then suddenly there is a pair of eyes peeking through the gate. Immediately after guttural sounds were herd as it pushed its arm through the gate. This wasn't a typical zombie though, it was pretty mutated and big. Anyways, long dream short, a leg was lost but the girl was ultimately saved.
Generally it is said that
Internet says dreams of teeth falling out are one of the most common dreams. Surprisingly I never had one of those. ((unrelated, so are dreams of being chased))
Unplugged: About two of those
Sham, your dreams for the
Unplugged, that's very interesting! I never thought of it as having sexual significance, but I suppose that makes sense because it can be attributed to power and control. Funny how almost everyone experiences the same types of dreams, but they are still personalized, which makes them difficult to completely interpret as you said. The fact that you don't have dreams of your teeth falling out must mean that you're pretty confident. You're lucky, because teeth-related dreams are just awful. Especially when you wake up thinking you're missing a tooth. ;; Now that I think about it, I can't remember having any dream that involves me being chased. I find that hard to believe, lol.
Awrsum idea! 8D I'm going to
I'm going to write some dreams tommorow. :3
One slightly disturbing dream
I've had it just once, and it was years ago, but it's one of those "lasting" ones.
From what I know, the night
Generally when i wake up and have a night terror, my heart rate accelerates and I'm sweating like crazy. I sometimes run out the room so fast that i leave a trail of blankets behind me. I've woken my parents up before over it.
And it always ends with me realizing that it was just a dream, and then telling myself that I am stupid for falling for it.

I had a strange/rather
Though this time she had already died, and I wanted to see her again so bad that I unburied her, finding her body still in perfect condition so I just sat with her for ages and stroked her fur, remembering how soft it was. It was a strange dream :k
((Unplugged that dream sounds so gross. Like, scary gross))
LONG POST IS LONG. My most
My most unforgettable dreams have been three particular ones;
First one took place in a park that was behind my old house, and it was oddly foggy out. I was with one of my friends. In the park was a baseball area that had chain-link fencing all around (just as it did in reality). But the fence was impossibly tall. So tall that the top of it was obscured by the fog.
A strange red bird landed on the fence and just stayed there., never making a sound.
Second one involved being in one of my old houses once again. There was a horizontal line that went up one of my forearms (can't remember which one now) and for some reason unknown to me, I picked at the line. Turns out it was a wound, and I began to pull the skin back. There was no blood; just muscle and bone. I felt a numbing/tingling sensation and pulled the skin flaps back down and put surgical tape around my arm. An hour later (I think) after I had it on, I took it off and the wound was healed, and there was nothing but a faint scar.
Another took place at the house I currently live in, in my backyard and at my pool. It was raining, and for some reason my pool was filled with mud (or what I thought was mud). I had noticed a strange, huge lump in the mud for days, and eventually went outside to see what it was. It looked like a gigantic crocodile had been either lurking in the pool, or had died in it. Turns out, it was a giant creature that resembled something that of a hippo.
It seemed to be struggling to free itself from the muddy pool, and just when it managed to put its front legs on one of the sides, it suddenly tilted its head up towards the sky and made a horrid noise. A tar-like, yellowish liquid flowed from its mouth, and I heard some kind of narration that you would hear on some animal show about an animal on the brink of death.
The creature collapsed by the time it was halfway out of the pool, and then slid back in.
Aaaanddd, just last night I dreamt I was in some random house (wtf is with all these house settings rofl). Some random guy just walking by and hit one of my other friends. I went crazy and started grabbing spatulas, forks, spoons and then proceeded to get to the larger objects like a broomstick. I beat the guy senselessly and screamed at him, then threw him out of the house and hit his face one last time with the broomstick, swhfahd.
Does anyone know of any good

Annnd the most memorable dreams as of late actually have to do with a bright, whitish, glowing humanoid figure, kind of like an angel, I guess. He tends to be in or around water when I dream about him [ like by a lake, in my reflection, pools, etc ] , and he screams at me. :c But its not a yell... its more like a high pitched yowling or baying of sorts. And I always get the feeling he's warning me, or angry. I can never tell.
*bookmarks it* That dream
That dream would scare the hell out of me...
I love/hate how dreams seem so real. If you think of something scary in your mind, you don't really feel scared, do you? But in a dream, I always feel the emotions as if it were real.
I have a lot of dreams about the end of the world. I hate them...
:C I've never dreamed about
I've never dreamed about the end of the world.. but I have dreamed about going to the edge of the world? rofl.
I've also noticed alligators / crocodiles / deep sea monsters have major roles in my nightmares. ;n;
Edge of the world still
Thanks for the link Selruil
Starling, that sounds like
Jala, your dreams sound very grotesque and surreal, but also beautiful. Those first three dreams put some fantastic imagery in my head, and the last one made me chuckle. He got what he deserved! X) I wonder what it means to have many dreams that take place in very similar settings, such as a house.
Thank you for the link Selruil, I'll be sure to look through it. I find it interesting that you dream about the yelling angel and being at the edge of the world; it all seems a little post-apocalyptic to me. Having nightmares about crocodiles and such must be common, I imagine. Dreaming about deep sea creatures may be playing into our natural fear of the unknown, i.e. just what the hell lurks in the deepest depths of the ocean. o3o
These are very
Okay. My dreams are often really jumpy and make no sense when I talk about them. (Of course, in the dream it's pure logic and makes perfect sense.)
The most recent one I remember: Anyone ever read the Hunger Games? I was in a scenario similar to that, except we were not trying to kill each other, we were looking for 'tokens' of some sort. Whoever collected the most won - I don't remember what though. That's not to say it wasn't dangerous. It was, we had these odd guns. They weren't real guns and I don't remember even using one. All throughout though, we had to be careful of dinosaurs. Raptors, primarily. And the blue people from Avatar - the Na'vi, I think? They were in it, too. They were dangerous, too.
So, I was with a friend. Running and looking for these tokens. We'd seen someone get killed by a Na'vi and were running down what was like a run between paddocks or something. We arrived at a place where there were some people in these little huts. I think they were places to rest. Anyway, we were nearby and talking and searching for a token. I looked up and saw one of the Na'vi behind my friend, leaping out. I lunged forward and pushed her and the dagger...thing... it had sliced part of my arm.
We then discovered that this was their home and that we had made it a hell for them to live in and they had no where else to go. There was also something about blood involved, and they cut my arm again (>U WHYTHEYDOTHIS) and apparently it showed us something about how terrible we were. I think it was all the pain this stupid game had caused them. We started crying and apologising, and the lyrics from "Colours of the Wind" played. I think it was
"For whether we are white or copper skinned,
we need to sing with all the voices of the mountain,
we need to paint with all the colours of the wind"
Woke up after that. I was a bit upset with myself, and felt guilty, too. ._.'
Today's dream was about
VELOCIRAPTORS ATTACKED. Yup. We beat them, but a few people got eaten. Then my alarm went off, making me almost wet myself I was so scared xD
I'll have to read through
I'm standing on a city street, tall buildings all around me. Skyscrapers, much like in New York. I'm looking down the street, down this corridor of buildings, and I hear a loud rumbling. It grows louder, almost deafening. A wall of water appears, towering over the buildings, moving fast. I gasp, my heart pounds, it's a tidal wave - a tsunami. I watch in horror as the wave rushes towards me. I'm powerless to run. As the wave crashes down, I wake up.
I've had this dream for as long as I can remember - since I was a little kid. I'm terrified of waves because of it.
So tracking this! (B
I have zombie dreams all the
The latest weird dream I had was that I was in an auditorum full of animatronic people. When I walked in they gave me pretty much a standing ovation and I don't know why.
I got up on stage and I was going to recite the amount of money the jackpot the state lottery had gone up to.
then i saw two of the animatronic people playing footsie and i think i just woke up. ;_;
I can't remember much about
But I can remember that it was Star Wars themed, and I was a guy training to become a Jedi.
My dream was weird... I was
I was playing a platform version of "City of Heroes", where you started off as a randomly assigned hero with random abilities. It had to do with saving a parade or something from evil villains. Well the first hero I was was a lot like the Human Torch, and so I was killing enemies when all of a sudden a giant mountain lion came up on one side. So I was like "Okay, I got this." And I went over to kill it.
It ate my hero in one gulp. Game over.
Then I started over again, and was more of a cyborg character. My attacks were cool because they were homing missiles. So I was able to kill the enemies without having to do much of anything because the missiles locked onto them. But that was when I woke up.
I remember something before this though, we were at the mall or somewhere and we were going to see a movie. I can't remember what was going on but I was late getting there so I walked in late and eventually found my family already seated. I had to walk up a row and step over the chairs to get to them.
Last night I dreampt of
For some reason though they didn't catch him. So my mom and I went after him seperately, found the boat he lived in. It was filled with the bodies of rotting children. Some chunks and body parts moulding in a tin. But we found him, chased him around and in the end he was caught and taken by the police.
Then I was suddenly in a house, watching a scruffy hobo with a German Shepard bringing puppies back to life by brushing their tails with a comb.
The dream I remember from my
I was in the kitchen, sitting at our table. My parents were cooking dinner and having a conversation... I was bored, so I went over to them and began talking too, but they shoved me away. Infuriated, I launched myself into the air and... flew? Well, it was more like floating. I floated around the house, happy, though stopped when my dad went out shopping. He came back with a plant. It looked like a venus fly trap. I poked it- and it began to grow. I kept at it, and it grew bigger and bigger, it's huge arms wrapped around our house. I was laughing like mad, flying around with it and floating, but my dad killed it.
I don't know what it means... it makes no sense to me: the plant part especially... ;-;
and [e]: ickydog, I seem to have had a very similar dream to that I was on a balcony with my mother, and a huge wave came crashing towards us. We ran up the hill, I saw the shadow creeping over us... though then I woke up.
... >>;
I'm always having wierd
It starts off like I'm playing a game and I'm currently in the tutorial part of it. So, I'm controlling a small ninja dressed in orange. I don't remember what the other ninjas told me but then they pushed me into a room with a bunk bed in it. The thing is, it was massive - I could walk easily on the top bunk (which was flooded with lava, though it didn't kill me). I had guards after me, but they didn't pose any problem.
My objective was to find pipes, fit them in and then the lava would go out of the room. I was told all of this by a woman (that ran a chain of brothels - I don't know how I know this, it's just one of those dream things). I got all the pipes and was fitting them in but I couldn't for - what seemed - a long while.
I moved to the next room which was exactly the same but with snow. I tried this room briefly before moving to the next room.
I was back to normal self in this room, which was part of a zoo. The zookeeper was in the corner talking about meerkats and I knew I had to avoid her, although I don't know why. Oh and it was suddenly a school trip, again I don't know how I know this.
So, Hagrid (from Harry Potter) appears behind me with Harry's invisibility cloak. He gives me a piggy-back past the zookeeper with the cloak over us - but it's not long enough to cover his legs. Even so we get out fine. He disappears.
The next room has the presenters of The One Show in it and they're talking about how there's this pregnant meerkat but she can't give birth because it's raining. The meerkat and her sister decide to accompany me. They can talk. The pregnant one is lovely and nice, but the sister is quite cynical and sarcastic.
So we walk out and find outselves out of the building. I take out the map and look to see where the bird enclosure is because that's where the next question is (suddenly I'm answering questons that the rest of my class is doing - apparently I'm in the lead). However, I can't decide/don't know how to get to the bird enclosure. And then I wake up.
Sorry it's so long ;;
I just woke up to another one
So I took my boogie board and went to the beach, and there were a lot of people there acting really stupid. At one point, there was someone frantically running out of the water, and we soon learned there was an alligator in the water. Well there were stupid people taunting the alligator so much that it rushed out of the water and was chasing people.
So then I realized Mom and my brother were there, so I went home with them, but then realized that I left my car and wallet at the parking lot. Mom refused to drive me back there so I had to take a bus. I had no idea where I would be going, and on top of that, it involved me changing buses like seven or eight times before i got there.
I woke up there.
I must have played Katamari
It switched at some point to me having a discussion with my brother, about why he shouldn't go outside nacked, and my mother, completly enraged, put an end to our nonsense by drowning us both into a bathtube that seemed to have magically appeared at the most convenient moment.
It's all I can remember.
How nice. µ_µ
A typical nonsense dream: Me
Me and some friends were looking for a place to have a barbecue. After walking trough a burning forest we climbed a big hill where we found a small cabin and sheep that were grazing next to it. Suddenly a storm was brewing. We went to seek shelter in the cabin. A big bear was standing right next to it. So we discussed about trusting it. In the end me, my friends and the bear sat huddled in the little lodge waiting for the storm to abate.

More recently I had ones were my father is alive again and come back to us. He looks very much dead though, pale with cold rough skin, that I can feel while I'm not touching at all, and he never talks.

Nah, I wouldn't dare, she is far too emotional not to take it the wrong way. Lol, her sensitivity is cute.
I don't think they necessarily are bad dreams, probably the meaning has very much nothing to do with the act of killing itself.
However, for my father, there is always a lot of emotional pain involved when I dream. I don't have to search very deep to understand those, but its a bit too personal for me to write about.

Sorry for the editing, my english is awful today.
I had several dreams last
I actually thought this was real |D;
I had this reoccurring dream
I'm walking through an arctic landscape: open, snowy ground and a frigid blue sky, nothing else for miles except maybe a few stunted trees. I'm not alone; I'm part of a huge group of kids around my age, and we're all walking single-file through the snow - although there are some older people who seem to be acting like chaperones or leaders. We're all dressed in heavy furs, appropriate for the cold weather. Eventually we come upon these two holes or...chasms in the snow, that together form a sort of tunnel filled with freezing greenish-black water. One by one, we have to dive underneath the water and swim beneath the snow and ice to come out the other hole, still fully dressed in our furs. I do it, strangely enough, even though in real life I was terrified of being underwater at the time. In the dream, there's this sense that what we're doing is some sort of test or right or passage.
For a while, I had this dream without realizing that it was reoccurring, and when I finally realized I'd had it several times before, I never had it again. >.> Dreams are so strange.
So last night I had a TEF
Yesterday I read Kestrel's bio and saw that she was possessive over Terrant, and since I dislike the context of the word, it influenced a negative mindtrack in me.
So in my dream, Kestrel kept chasing my deer away from Terrant, which was upsetting because Terrant's a very dear friend to us. lol
I'm sure that won't really happen though. My mind has a bad tendency to overreact!
Love this idea. This dream is
It starts off with recess at my old elementary school grounds. We used to have this long spread of open grass that all of the kids played in, but we were teenagers now. Out of nowhere, a bunch of older teens gather us all up in a circle, surrounding us. They tell us that they're going to basically kidnap us, but if we can manage to get away we'll be free. Extreme tag, if you will. They let us run, give us a head start, all of us with our hearts racing hundreds of miles an hour take off in the opposite direction. It's not long before I can hear my classmates scream and try to fight off our much bigger soon-to-be-captors. For some reason, I instinctively know that I've someone on my heels. I look back to see a guy dressed in mostly dark colors about to grab my (rather fnckin' long) hair. He succeeds. I'm forced to the ground, but I twist in his grasp and kick him in his jewels. He lets go of me to crouch over for a second, looking up at me with the most evil grin ever.
"You'll regret that." I take off again- to the 5th grade portables. I only get around the first building when I'm tackled from behind and promptly sat on. I'm scared and trapped. My wrists are being bound, a blindfold over my eyes. I'm hauled to my feet and dragged to heaven-knows-where.
I awake in a small, cramped and uncomfortably cold place. I'm aching all over. I hear sounds and moans coming from all around me, but I can't see what they are. A light flickers to life. I'm in a metal cage, very much like the ones at a vet's office. I look out the bars of my cage. There's cages as far as I can see with other teens in them. All in various stages of waking up and orienting themselves. I just know we're moving, like on a semi truck, but it's too big to be one.
The sound of boots alerts everyone to one of our captor's presence. Everyone's quiet now. Two bodies make their way down the middle of the cages, taking a quick examination of every cage. A male and a female, older than those who caught us.
-I've forgotten the details of the rest, it's been a long time since I've had it. And I don't want this to end up a complete book. But the rest generally goes:-
My personal captor comes to check on me. I hate him. He tries to strangle me. He gets yelled at and despises me now. We arrive at our destination. We're unloaded still in our cages and dumped into a large room with barred front. It's an abandoned mall. Every room I can see from the front is filled with handfuls of other people, generally all young. We're told we're going to be experiments, be turned into wolves to aid in repopulating the wolf species in the US. Our guards are first generation examples. They can turn from wolf to human and back, but being 1st gen. they can't help in 'the cause'. Over the course of several months, everyone in my room is tested. I'm the special one (of my room) that gets to be the guinea pig to test the newest transformation method. They inject me with -something- and am eased into a comatose state.
Oh. And my personal guards, since I'm to be guarded because I'm a guinea pig and because my original captor is trying to kill me, are George and Fred Weasley, both gen. 1 red wolves.
That's all that's happened over several years! :'D
Not terrifying or anything, except the first half, but it gets a little bit weirder every time lol.
Sorry for any typos or missing words, I have to hurry up and clean my room before my mom comes up!
