"Cold," the nimble doe remarked to herself as she retracted now numb fingerpads from the
surface of the pond. Priscilla withdrew from the muddy banks of the pool, glancing around warily.
There never seemed to be anyone around during the night. It was tranquil, and yet, almost eerie.
Slight paranoia tingled down her spine, and Priscilla withdrew into her small frame, fluffing her lengthy
fur around her. It felt almost as if she was being watched.
Noose had indeed been keeping
"Good evening," she sang, soft voice bursting with friendliness and candor. "It is quite a cold night to be alone, isn't it?" The tattered rope noose swung lazily round her neck as she shook out her fur.
I'm interested but horribly
Edit: Oh yay!
Ill throw whisper here later
@Hadou & Hum: Feel free to
Priscilla would have been startled by the sudden voice piercing the silence, if it weren't for the sing-songy
nature of the other's tone. Clean, pure, almost frighteningly so. Priscilla's tufted ears slicked back and
she cocked a "brow", although none of that would be evident from behind her beloved mask. "Mmm ..."
she hummed. She ran her tongue along the roof of her mouth. Vocalization felt strange, alien, though
that was to be expected considering she rarely spoke unless required. "Cold, yes. Lonely? No." Priscilla
continued to warily scrutinize the doe, though admittedly was intrigued by her colorful pelt and
... different personality.
Noose smiled brightly,
Priscilla felt slightly
Priscilla felt slightly uncomfortable as the bubbly doe darted around her. She followed closely, however,
spinning on her heels to keep up with the female. Never could leave your back to an acquaintance, of
course ... or was Priscilla, maybe, just maybe, amused? A slight sneer spread across her face as she
listened attentively to her words. "Colorful in personality and pelt," she noted aloud, distracted by the
newcomer's glaring grin. Finally, Priscilla tilted her head, ears quirking forwards, disregarding any
further verbal prodding from the newcomer. "Where did you come from?" she mused.
Noose immediately struck a
"My evening?" Priscilla
"My evening?" Priscilla questioned, staring directly towards her new companion, blankly for a moment,
before haughtily drawing herself upon her hooves (and palms) as best as she could. Matching the golden
haired doe's enthusiasm was unlikely, yet she still found herself appreciating her company. Priscilla almost
felt slightly intimidated. She was clever and fascinating, having such a way with words, and yet slightly off.
"I suppose I could use some sunshine," Priscilla lulled, glancing around her dark surroundings before
tilting her head curiously towards her acquaintance. "Your name?"
The gaily-colored doe laughed
Curious eyes locked onto the
she mentioned in a critical tone, although obviously fascinated. Upon Noose's inquiry, feathery neck ruffled and a smirk crept
across her features, tufted ears pivoting forwards. "Priscilla." Priscilla dashed to the side and slid forwards a bit before turning
back to glance at her newfound friend, flicking her tail nonchalantly. "A strangled doe, supposed to brighten my day?" She
cackled at the premise, motioning with a clawed hand towards the noose around her neck teasingly. All in good fun, after all.
"But ever so stylish," She
"But ever so stylish," She countered with another bat of her lashes, dead blue eyes locked on Priscilla's own. Tucking one slender leg under another, Noose gave a graceful bow, nose nearly brushing the grass before she sprang up once more. "A lovely name for a lovely doe! It's a pleasure to meet you." With a happy bounce the gold-furred deer followed her newfound friend, another gleeful chitter escaping her as Priscilla mocked her accessory. Oh, she liked her. "Oh, I can think of lots of ways! For example, think about how lucky you are not to be me!" Noose's infectious laughter never ceased, echoing off the silent trees around them like so many bells. For someone potentially deceased, she was certainly very animated.
Priscilla couldn't deny
Perhaps she wouldn't mind being accompanied by the femme now and again. Delighted by Noose's response,
the crass peacock doe quickly turned up her nose, as if reading from a script. "How lucky I am to not be you,"
Priscilla sighed dramatically, before turning quickly on her heels and bounding towards Noose, lowering her lack-
of-antlers, brilliant feathers dancing over her mask, in a mocking manner. Mimicing Noose, she recanted, "I can
think of a lot of ways."
-- should I just have whisper
((Feel free,
Delighted laughter spilled forth as Noose fell back on her haunches, comically allowing herself to be 'intimidated' and bowled over. She wriggled on her back, hooves flailing as she rolled in the soft grass. "Yes! See? For one, you have such a lovely crown of feathers! All I have are these silly spikes." The doe tossed her head with a chuckle, gently curved antelope horns whistling through the air. "And that striking mask! So much nicer than this plain old thing!" She adopted a self-mocking whine, still rolling about on the forest floor, as though overcome with self-pity. With a jerk she jumped to her feet, all four legs planted and head cocked at an almost unnatural angle. "And that's not even considering the 'strangled' bit!"
-- woo, I'll just throw
big crystal blue eyes looked out from a white porcelain mask, stained with blood. they scanned the dreary cold surroundings slowly as whisper walked cautious forward. ever noise he heard, every tiny snap of a branch made a small chill run all the way up his frail spine. his eyes shifted from one tree to another, listening and looking for every little disturbance. anything could be dangerous to such a small, and nervous stag. he was the size of a petite doe, and lacked the strength of other bucks. he was a broken soul.
the crystal eyes grew wide, focusing on a few blurred figured in the distance. they were was near the pond. he could hear the faint noises, laughter and conversation from where he stood, watching. the curious stag stared, squinting his ocean blue eyes at the two deer things. they were obviously does. they seemed to be having a rather friendly conversation, nothing too nerve racking. still whispers neck hair was standing on end, but his legs moved him closer to them. curiosity had gotten the better of him. in the blink of an eye he was only 10 yards away, standing behind a tree, watching silently.
he stepped back a half step, a twig snapped loudly and he froze.
Sorry for the late response,
Perhaps Priscilla only liked her bubbly companion due to the fact that she significantly
boosted her already sizable ego, but whatever the reason, Priscilla couldn't argue that
she was warming up to the doe rather quickly. Noose was different. Priscilla liked different.
She watched Noose's childish antics with a subtle smirk, cocking her head to the side, feathers
following. As she mulled over a response, the sound of crunching twigs interrupted her thoughts.
She immediately pressed towards Noose, ears rotating forwards, cautiously observing the area
around before settling her sights on a small, dark figure near by. The scent was almost familiar,
though she didn't have the best of eyesight, especially in the dark. She was more curious than
cautious, really, and she kneaded the grass in anticipation.
Priscilla cast a wary glance towards Noose, and she mustered a slight laugh at the scene that
played out through her head. "Would you like to greet whoever that is?"
Noose let out a soft hum as
Noose let out a soft hum as Priscilla drew closer, ears twitching towards the sound. In the quiet night forest, a broken twig practically rivaled a gunshot-- but Noose didn't seem the slightest bit concerned or wary. She pranced forward eagerly a few steps, almost dancing across the grass. "Of course! Of course! The more the merrier!" Without a care, she broke into a sprint, hooves barely touching the ground-- until she came upon the small stag. The odd doe skidded to a stop, a wide grin firmly set on her face. "Why, hello!" She chirped, dead eyes locked on Whisper, a friendly (if a bit unsettling) smile accompanying the bright greeting.
whisper silently pulled his
he fell on his hind, into an awkward sitting position. his massive glassy eyes stare at the odd doe, silent.
".... hi...." he said in a small delicate whisper. he resented speaking, but was so stunned, he had no idea what to do. they seemed friendly, but his heart was beating off the wall, and nerves were going insane. his breath was short, but he was fine, this happened everytime he met someone.
Priscilla watched, satisfied
Priscilla watched, satisfied with herself, as Noose bounded off to greet the poor soul. She herself was
unsure of how to approach others, so she was pleased that the doe had done it for her. Such whimsy.
She would have been rather protective of her new friend if it wasn't for the fact the stag was very small
in stature. She honestly didn't perceive him as a threat, and Priscilla had the faintest feeling that Noose
had tricks up her sleeve in order to protect herself. She was mysterious in that way, and it was quite
chilling.
Priscilla met Noose at her flank with several long strides, though hovering a bit back as the pale buck seemed
a bit overwhelmed. Upon closer arrival, she realized that she had in fact met this one before, and a sense
of relief washed over her. In fact, he was the first she had met since waking up in this peculiar forest.
"Remember me?" Priscilla mused, lowering her frightening mask to be more on his level and peering out with
curious eyes, almost intending to be slightly intimidating, though she meant no harm. She simply
got a kick out of teasing the smaller ones, despite holding them closer to heart than others. Perhaps
because it was simply an ego boost to do so.
Noose didn't even bother to
Noose didn't even bother to bite her tongue or hide her smile-- she burst out with a cacophony of raucous laughter, tossing her head back and rearing slightly. The tiny stag just looked so silly! "Oh my, did I frighten you?" She crooned, batting her lashes in an attempt to look comically charming-- though that effect was slightly ruined by her flat eyes and constant grin. Of course, she didn't really want to frighten him, and she was already large enough without standing over him on her hind legs. Promptly, she flopped to the ground, all four legs splayed out like a fur rug, now grinning up at him instead of down. "How's this? Better?" Without waiting for an answer, she rolled onto her back, forelegs crossed over her chest, peering at him upside-down. "A friend of yours, Priscilla?" She asked without looking away from Whisper, eerie eyes staring ceaselessly.
whisper was still frozen with
whisper was still frozen with fear, looking up at the doe as he layed awkwardly on the cold ground. his legs were twisted in a way underneath him that would make getting up more difficult than usual, plus he was shaking so much that he'd fall back over. his crystal eyes kept staring into the does as she spoke to him. he drew his head backwards as she got closer to his level, she was odd and creepy. a loose rope hung 'round her neck as if it were some kind of noose... was it a noose? his eyes were now focused completely on the rope, and he was again shocked when the doe flop over and roll around. if he were in his right mind he would of thought of it as funny, but right now it scared him more.
he was terrified of this new deer, she was upside down now, speaking once again. he said nothing.
his eyes caught sight of the second deer, and he followed it's long legs up to her face, a face he did indeed remember. his fear had faded a bit seeing the doe he'd met a few days back. she was kind and fun, and that took his mind off of the creepy doe sprawled out next to him. he nodded his small head, his hair bouncing with the nods,
"....Priscilla...?" he whispered to her, glancing back to the doe who had spoken for the 3rd time now. his eyes were drawn to the rope again.
he was feeling better that Priscilla was here, he knew her and that comforted him.
"....is that a-a.. noose..." he asked the doe, not taking his big eyes off the rope. curiosity had got the best of him.
