Festival FAQ

Can I come?/ Who's invited? - Everyone! Be there!

What is this? - It's a Party! We'll commune around and about the Playground and give candle antlers (candtlers?) to every deer who passes by. Every hour, on the hour, we will all dance in celebration as midnight passes in each time zone. Don't forget to stop by the Twin Gods Hill to pay your respects and celebrate!

When is it?/ What time is that where I live?: The unofficial start will be 11:59PM GMT and will run until people stop showing up sometime in 2011.
Don't think you've missed out if you can't make the start time, as deer from every timezone should be popping in to ring in their respective New Years!

Are the candles here at the forest yet?
Because I see alot of deers wearing them....
How do you get the candles on your antlers?
Are fire flies candles?
What do fire flies do?

I checked, and as of today - nope. No candles yet. Don't worry! There will be plenty of candles eventually, we just have to be patient.

The candles will be in several locations, the playground being one of them.
You pick them up in the same manner as flowers, by clicking a button on the action bar and thrashing your antlers among them.

Fireflies are NOT candles. As far as I can tell, fireflies glow and swarm around and look cool, but not much else.

This'll be my very first

This'll be my very first Festival of Lights on this game! I hope I can attend at the right time for my time zone! I'm always so clumsy when it comes to times in different zones. Merry Christmas to you too IoRez!

The beauty lights can make is truly amazing. I will be attending this Festival of Lights but sadly I won't be able to take some candle antlers since I've heard that it takes one month for your fawn to grow into and muscular stag. I've also heard that fawns can't hold magic like the adults wandering around. There's always next year to grab a pair of candle antlers so I'm not all that upset about it. Does anyone know what time the Festival of Lights will be starting on (UTC -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)?

@Ekta: Fawns can wear candles on their heads just like flowers, and like flowers they will stay as long as you like. Smiling I believe in U.S. Eastern time it will start at 7:00 pm. Welcome to the Forest!

Anjali, thank you for telling the time it's going to start in our region. This is going to sound wierd but Ekta and I live in the same exact state in the same city. The strangest part is that we don't know each other in real life. I was trying to figure out when this festival was going to happen but I had no luck. Thanks again!

Can you see the candles or just have trouble nomming them? Because when I had the older version of TEF, I could see other effects but not see the candles everywhere until I upgraded. If it's not that, then sneeze off any antlers you might already be wearing?

Edit: I have a huge favor to ask of one/some of you.
I know this is a bit last minute, but could some of you guys who have awesome framerates take some screenshots of the Festival this year? Newer version has my framerate topping out at a whopping 9 FPS, running in the smallest sized window.

Lol I've already got a few early screenshots. I'll see if I can get some during the festival. If I can't then I'm truly sorry. My computer is brand new so it still needs to be broken in. Some of the buttons won't respond like the broken in keys. I'll try my best. If I can't get the actual festival screenshots I'll post before the festival screenshots.
