Faunet

Her friendly manner put the shy -- well, when he wasn't being completely outrageous -- man at ease. "Sierra?" Freddie thought for a few seconds. "Is it a variant of Sarah? Just curious." He smiled, though carefully avoided revealing his teeth. If there was one thing he was always very self conscious of, it was his top front teeth that protruded a great deal.

Willet

Lorak's sunset-coloured eyes burned intensely as he studied the child, who now posed many questions. There was something strange, unique about him, something Lorak couldn't define. "I understand that, a little," his voice was quiet as he spoke. "But what are you, Wish? You seem like a...just a kid, to me..." That was a lie, but he didn't know what else to say.

Wish looked at him curiously, he eyes swirled in to a mischevious brite orange, the bag around his shoulder begant to rustel and suddenly many multi colored cande sticks slipped out and began to hovver in the air. Wish smiled, his mouth rowed with small sharp fangs. The candles lit. Swirleing, and danceing in the cool night air. "Im a hated, unholy, unloved, homeless missfit and nothing more" his voice was a little more challening then anything. Dareing him to state he was more then what he had said.

Faunet

The exotic-looking man chuckled faintly, glancing away. He decided that bringing up the subject of living quarters would be a bad idea; after all, he didn't know where he lived and if she asked him, how was he supposed to explain? Freddie was too proud to say something like 'oh I got kicked out' or 'I got evicted because I couldn't pay the rent', nor could he explain properly. He had no idea if rebirth was a commonly accepted thing in this world.
"A truck," he mused, chocolate-coloured eyes sparkling. "Hm. Can I ask a question, dear?"

Willet

Many other people would have turned and run at the sight of the lit candle sticks twirling in the air, the boy with his changing eyes and creepy smile. Lorak was used to horrors.
Not that that meant it wasn't terribly strange and frightening.
"Wish, how..." He stared at the candles, then glanced at Wish and noted that the boy's eyes now very nearly matched Lorak's. "Put them away, someone'll see! You're not--how did you do that, Wish?"

She wandered along, thinking

She wandered along, thinking of who and what she was. A harbinger of the damned, death walking in a white dress. Thoughts such as these haunted and echoed every step she took, as she walked gently towards the woods. A young man with dark hair, and even darker clothing walked in front of her. She felt some kind of energy from him. Similar to that of death, but yet somewhat different...perhaps spirits of some discription.

She realized something. Her control over the song was beginning to fade. She needed to get into the woods quickly. She ran, her heels clattered noisly as she went, her dark hair flowing backwards with her white dress. She looked a blur, one couldn't be exactly sure where the back of her dress was. It seemed to be moving forward in it's own way.

Elegance was retained however, in her running. She had not descended into a flat sprint, since she did not have the capability to do that in her dress and her heels. It would make her fall, and she couldn't have that. She easily overtook the man in front of her, and darted towards the woods, as a glimmering, blurred beauty.

She slowed when she began to realise that there was no one really around. Only the man behind her, and he didn't have enough of a presene to make the song flare. It seemed...quiter somehow around him, as if death didn't want him. Or rather...death couldn't have him yet. Some people were like that. Death couldn't quite take them yet, and thus they were near immortal. Only by changing the strands of destiny could one kill one of these people.

However twisting the strands was mostly guesswork which could have disastorous consequences, and thus the practice had been abandoned for millenia. Since even death would not interefere in the affairs of the Lady of Fate, and the Lord of Luck. Between them, they controlled every event that could happen and would happen.

He flinched again. Ah, so the 'outsider' was concerned for him? How odd... Little to no one ever so much as gave him a passing glance. Or a glare, really. Bartleby did not have a good reputation, around here, really. Most of the looks he did get were just scowls.

He brought up a snow-white hand and brushed back a stray lock of fine hair that had fallen over his face a little, twirling it a bit as he did so. What should he say to him? He wondered, even going over the prospect of just walking away from him, but of course he wouldn't do that. Bartleby was far too polite for that sort of thing.

"I'm... Not feeling as bad as I usually do. Usually I need an escort when I go out, but I feel well enough to go alone today." he smiled nervously, as if his needing an escort were the most natural thing in the world.

He blinked when the man went of the possibility of him passing out. "Ah yes, when I'm stressed I tend to black out. Rather annoying, really. But I'm quite calm now, I shouldn't be falling over anytime soon." he nodded and held out a thin hand, always the gentleman.

"Master Bartleby, and you?"

Faunet

His face lit. "Ooh, a dancer?" At least theater still existed. He assumed that opera would, too. It's a shame they'd never have heard of Aretha Franklin, however...ah well. "That's wonderful, darling, what kind of dancing is it, exactly? Tell me more, go on!"

Mick

It came as a surprise to Lorak when he found himself suddenly overtook by someone. He hadn't expected it to be a woman, let alone one he'd actually taken brief notice of. Perhaps he was prejudiced. But notice her he did, with her white dress that, to his mind, danced with her. The only thing that marred the scene was the fact that her heels were so noisy, but Lorak wasn't going to sit and mentally complain about that.

He wondered why she had started running. He wondered why he was so curious about her. Perhaps because she seemed to be aimed towards the woods. Could he follow her? Certainly. Should he? Maybe. What if she thought he was a stalker? Well then, he'd apologise and explain as soon as she spoke, turn, and walk away. Or something along those lines.

Man, he was going to make a fool of himself. Lorak pushed himself away from the mossy wall he'd started leaning against, legs carrying him at a medium pace towards the woods. He could still see the woman's white dress. Maybe she was running from someone? The man looked over his shoulder, orange eyes scanning the area. Noone else was around now.

Where had everybody gone? There were people in the far distance, certainly, for he could hear them, but in the immediate area it seemed very empty. Lorak frowned. The faint murmerings of the dead reached his ears and he winced mentally, shaking his head. A memory he'd thought he had forgotten came to him; watching the She die, before his very eyes, feeling what she felt and wishing he could have saved her.

It was why he didn't like driving, he supposed. Cars caused so much death. He couldn't stand seeing Rutilus pull up outside his apartment with that damn motorcycle, either. Not that the blonde really dropped by much now; the two tended to have long periods without talking much, and then they were often there for eachother when it was required - when Rowan disappeared, for instance...

Lorak sighed very quietly then took a deep breath of fresh air as he entered the woods, orange eyes searching for the woman he'd been following after. What was he going to say to her, he wondered, when she realised he was there?

Willet

Lorak swallowed nervously, straightening and looking around again, strands of black hair falling into his eyes. "I..." A few moments of silence. "You--you seem intelligent, too intelligent for your...age, so I think you'll..." He was speaking more to himself than Wish, but then looked at the boy. "What are you, Wish?"

GingerNut

Rhye wondered if 'Master Bartleby' had a serious illness. He hoped not; the man, or boy, or whatever he was, for Rhye wasn't very good at guessing ages, was pretty and seemed nice enough. And he had never been one for hoping people would just die.
"Oh," was all he mumbled at first, shaking the blonde's hand very lightly as if he were afraid to break it. "Rhye Rendezvous, um...do I call you Bartleby?" He flinched, gold glancing into green, wondering if the other would prefer his title to be added on. Maybe it was his name.
Ha, no.
Noone would call their kid 'Master'. Would they?
Maybe 'Master Bate' would have been better. He pushed these thoughts out of his head quickly.
"What's--is it serious? Should you really be out here?"
Shit, shit, shit, he was being rude. Too obtrusive. Shit.

He blinked again, thinking

He blinked again, thinking for a moment. This 'outsider' seemed rather nice... Unlike the other people around here at least. But nice or not, he was still an 'outsider'.

"Yes... I often just put the title on to leave a good first impression. You may call me Bartleby, yes. My family name, my first name is of no importance." he smiled a little, obviously not meaning any offense by that little remark.

He had the social skills of a coat hanger, and he knew that. He knew that he was extremely awkward around strangers, and that was only because it was just now that he had been... persuaded... To go out more.

He smiled at the man's name, trying it out on his own tongue. "Rhye Rendezvous... That's so unique. I wish my name wasn't so... Harsh sounding..." he cringed and quickly smiled again, once again brushing his hair back.

He looked down and tugged at the hem of his dress shirt at Rhye's next question, as if wondering what to say. "I have... a combination of things, really. I know of a few by name. Type B hemophilia... Although that dosen't make me feel sick, it just makes it hard for me to go out most of the time. The other things I have... a lot of them he dosen't know about yet..."

He didn't bother mentioning who 'he' was. Frankly, it didn't much matter.

Although the brunette had become used to compliments on his name, he still loved every one and could not fight back the smile that flickered on his face as Bartleby spoke. But that soon melted away, replaced by a worried, saddened gaze.

Type B Hemophilia? Rhye didn't have the foggiest idea of what that was, but being someone that hated illness he didn't like it. He wondered what else was wrong with Bartleby, who 'he' was, and how all of this had happened. Did he have a weak immune system?

No, he'd be dead by now, surely? With all those problems? And 'hemophilia' didn't sound nice. Anything with 'philia' at the end, to him, sounded hideous.

Rhye realised how upset he must have looked and tried to mask his dismay, looking over his shoulder then back again at the frail blonde before him. "That's--I'm really sorry," he said feebly, going to put his hands in his pockets before realising his leggings didn't have any. "Can I ask what hemophilia is? It--it doesn't sound very...nice. I don't imagine it is, to have obviously but you..." He flip-waved a hand, cheeks burning in embarrassment.

Faunet

His face held a wistful look for a few seconds as he gazed out into the park, forgetting to breathe. Freddie eventually let out his breath in a sigh and looked back at Sierra, shaking his head. "Opera is wonderful," he murmered. "Very powerful. But dancing of course is...ballet, one of my favourites, I--" A habit of his, starting one thing and then cutting off repeatedly. "Are you any good, then?" Dark eyes glittered; his voice was playful, teasing as he tilted his long-haired head and looked at Sierra.

Bartleby lightly put a finger

Bartleby lightly put a finger to his lip, thinking of how to exactly word it. This 'outsider' was concerned for him? Well, if that was the case, then he wasn't really an 'outsider' then, was he? No... But he would still be cautious around this man. After all, he knew little to nothing about him.

He shifted his hand over to hair, absent-mindedly twirling a lock of hair as he spoke. "It's... Well... It means that it's easy for me to bleed, and to bruise. My blood dosen't clot, so when I bleed, it never stops unless I get treatment for it. There's two types, A and B, B being the rarer of the two, which makes my treatments fairly hard to obtain..." he rambled on before stopping himself and offering a reassuring simle to Rhye.

"I just have to be very careful when I go out... I've learned to. Believe me though, it's the least of my worries compared to the stuff that not even he knows about."

He tilted his head a little. "Why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong..."

Ah, so he had known was hemophilia was; just not the name for it! Rhye shuddered, shaking his head and wondering who Bartleby referred to when he said 'he'.

"I'm just sorry," he mumbled, looking at the blonde with a sad expression. Why this friendly, polite blonde man? Why not a rapist or a murderer...?

"Can--can I ask a question?" But without waiting for an answer, the brunette continued. "You mentioned someone there, 'he doesn't know'..."

Faunet

He adored the way she spoke; almost old-fashioned in its formality, much like the way he himself had always spoken. "Really?" Freddie had been used to recieving free tickets to things when he was famous in his previous life -- or at least being able to easily afford them -- but he hadn't expected it again. "Where and when? I er, don't know very many places you see."

Bartleby looked at him for a moment with an odd sort of confused expression on his face. Hm? This 'outsider' was asking him about his life? His friends?

Well... fine then.

"Mm? My doctor, who else? His name is Malware, very wonderful." he left out the part about Malware being a deer. After all, who would be beleive him?

He put a finger to his lip, mildly tapping it in thought. "Well, I think he's wonderful, anyway. Jergens dosen't like him all that much..." a light blush creeped over his face as he mentioned his other 'friend', although on his pale face, the red color was all the more noticable.

She walked quickly deep into

She walked quickly deep into the woods, but the song of death was getting louder. She could feel pain in her head. It was worsening, instead of getting better, and she couldn't tell why. She tried to continue forwards, but as she did the pain grew stronger, forcing her to the ground, and causing her to scream. The pain was unimaginable. What the hell did death want?

She released burts of her ability to take life force, forcing it from everything around her. Tress, grass, animals. All died because of her desperation to make the pain stop. Yet it wasn't stopping. Someone or something was around that death wanted. She could hear someone approach her but she was unable to warn them away from her. Her body wracked with pain, was allowing her the ability to only scream in pain, and to cry.

The Persian-born man gave a slight chuckle, looking around him. "Quite nice here, isn't it?" He looked at a nearby patch of daffodils, and smiled dryly. "Mm. So, I don't know, tell me about yourself." It was all he could think to say.

GingerNut

Malware. What a strange name. It sounded like a virus scanner on a computer or something along those lines.

But then Rhye's stomach churned in shock as the name 'Jergens' was mentioned - and then Bartleby blushed. How did they know eachother? But then he realised that the chances of Bartleby speaking about the same Jergens were slim.

Then again, how many people in the world were named after Jergens lotion?

"Oh, uhm..." He swallowed, gold eyes darting over Bartleby a few times before he looked away again. "So who's Jergens, then? Isn't zat a lotion?"

Hell, it could have been a pet.

But still.

Mick

It was an expression of horror that crept its way onto Lorak's pale-white face as he walked past shrivelling plants and dead birds. When a squirrel dropped dead right at his feet, he inhaled sharply and loudly, jolting backwards. Lorak was afraid. Why was everything dying?

But then screams pierced the air, followed with noises that sounded like someone might have been crying. Lorak's pace quickened instantly, and he was urged forwards by the hope that he could save this person before whatever had killed the plants and animals killed them too - or him.

God, don't let it be me.

The dark-haired man felt his shirt tear at the back as branches caught on it, but he didn't stop to check or try and examine the scratches he could feel on his skin. Fear was making his heart, already with a strange and erratic heartbeat, pound dramatically.
And then he saw her.
Lorak's orange eyes widened.

"Hey! Are you allright?!"

But he was too afraid of her to move closer.

Those screams.

He shivered.

Why was he asking so many questions? Oh, how confusing... And strange... Still, he couldn't help but chuckle at his one comment.

"Well... Yeah... He is named after a lotion. Why do you ask?" he quickly turned to the side, his hand coming up to twirl stray locks of hair, helping to hide his reddening face.

"He... Didn't have a home, so I took him in. He is... my... my assistant." he declared, almost as if he had forgotten. The words were laced with false pompousness, extereme embarassment lying underneath.

It was all pretty damn easy to uncover the whole facade.
