Karma and post count forums, -- your opinion?

I was wondering what you guys think of forums/communities with karma buttons and post counts. (Not of any special reason.)

If someone has -1 karma, everyone hates them. And if someoene has 10 karma they think it's a god.
And post count, it makes others consider people 'noobs' and 'pros' basicly. And also some people comment random things just to get a higher post count.
But thats just me.

I've seen those websites

I've seen those websites before with the 'karma' buttons, but I never really cared either way about them since people can give and take 'karma' once a day I think. Personally I think it's a petty thing to glorify people over, and I think everyone should get a chance to speak their mind without being judged based on post count.

Karma... Honestly, I am not in such forums much, but I hate how everything is judged by karma. When you have none or -x, you're basically a noobie or a stupid head in others' eyes. And if you have 10, just like you said, you're basically a god then. I don't get it. Virtual karma and everything's so serious. I had no karma in a forum, and I was basically taught and treated like a child, and was shoved off everywhere as if I was immature. Oh well, I have seen it that way.

Post count importance has actually cooled down from forums, so I have no mayor opinion on that one. Nobody watches other's post counts much, I think...

We had a sort of post count on TEFc, few years ago.

I don't care about those rank-things anyway xD

Oh yeah, the "Forest Nuzzles". You got 5 nuzzles for every post you made. They said they were going to do something with that but eventually they got rid of it.

I never stayed long on any

I never stayed long on any forums with a post count. I felt too intimdated to even attempt to post bcause I knew I would not only sound like a noob, but people wouldn't even give me the light of day because I lacked count. What a way to feel :/

Karma... I don't think I've been on a forum that used it, so no opinion there.
