Oooookay, I've been way too nervous to create a blog like this before but what can I say... desperation drives people do desperate things.
To put it short, I have some art lying around that I don't need. A couple of old paintings I have no place for and a few leftover art prints.
My question is; are there anyone who would be interested in buying any of these and if so, what would be the price you'd be willing to pay? And even if you can't buy anything now, what would be the price you'd pay for these if you had the money?
I've never shipped any packages of this size anywhere so that's something to figure out later.
Here's the stuff. I'm sorry for the horrible, horrible quality of photos. Had no natural lightning this time so nasty flashlight it is.
A duplicate piece of this work:
x
A WIP, obviously. Shall be finished.
The canvas itself costed something like 30€ if I remember right so yup, would be nice getting some of that money back.
Acrylic paints in gold and black on canvas. Deer drawn on white paper and attached to the canvas. Pencils, watercolor, ink. Yup, very mixed media piece.
A set of three canvas paintings, oriental theme with a silhouette of an antilope.
This was my first acrylic painting and it's very simple and bold with vivid colors. The bamboo are painted with gold ink.
I'm not too sure about selling this one yet. I mean, I've kinda got this love-hate relationship with this painting. Plus, I painted it on a watercolor paper that was too thin for acrylics so there are bumps around I was unable to straighten.
Anyway, size is something like... big-ish? A2...?
Acrylic paint and watercolors and black and gold ink. Yes, I've got a thing for golden stuff, did you notice?
This one I have just poorly glued on a thick piece of cardboard. I'm not sure if to sell this piece or not due to... all these troubles.
Then some digital prints:
[Ignore my fabulous nails~]
I looove the way these prints turned out. I know the photos are bad and made even the paper look bad but in live the prints look so good aaa.. <3
They're not glossy but they're not exactly matte either, there is a small shine on them as you can see. (thanks, flashlight) The paper is sorta thick and strong.
The colors are vivid and the pictures are so sharp. You can just get real close and see all the details sharp. Really like that, especially with the whale one. Dem bushes!
The size is a slightly larger than A3. Not much but just to say that they're not exactly A3 size.
I recommend protecting the picture under a glass or such. The colors won't get messed up if something gets on the print (not from my experience) but any drops will leave a mark on the paper that you can see when light reflects on the surface.
All in all, I really love these prints and I'd like the idea of finding buyers for this last bunch.
Tell me what you think and... yeah. |B *scurries off in horror*
I adore your work, but I'd
Anycase a bump for you
Man... I'm no art appraisal
But honestly that's probably understating. A two page full colour spread from a professional artist is something like... shit, if only I could remember the post. I distinctly remember having a 2 in the number but I'm not sure if it was $200 or $2000. EITHER WAY. You have everything it takes to be a professional artist as far as skill and style is concerned, and the professionals sell their big paintings and sets of them for god knows how much. So much. You deserve to be well paid for your beautiful, hard work!
The long and short of it is that I'm no expert. As far as most internet commissioner price ranges go, I'd buy the three-piece set for $300, but if you were branded as a professional, it would be sold for much higher.
Eq - Thank you. And what do
thelittleraven - Haha, somehow I wouldn't dare to ask $300 for any of these : D Sounds like a lot of money. In overall, I'm bad at pricing my own art, though. Often feel like I'm either asking too much or too little.
And yeaaaah, it's just insane how much professionals can draw money from their work. Maybe I should start training myself to become one. @_@
Thank you for your comment, it was very helpful. 8>
Could always auction them off
Prints usually don't sell as high as a tangible canvas with paint on it and such, from what I've gathered. People have a preference to authenticity or something. Like to have an actual canvas in your face instead of a duplicate print of an original work.
Could always auction them off on DA too maybe, or even FA. You're definitely well-known enough for the former, and the latter of the two is smaller, so it'd definitely get seen there as well. Maybe set a price for each one and see how high it goes until the deadline. Many of these are easily worth something in the several hundreds and beyond.
Your art is god. I'd pay a lot if I had the moola, but I can dream at least.
Yes you can deliver all of
Yes you can deliver all of them to my house this instant.Yes, perhaps. I have never

Those three canvas paintings
I would do as jala has suggested and try and have a go at auctioning one off on deviantart, or, put one on ebay and advertise it through your deviantart/tumblr/places like facebook too etc to see if you get outside interest as well. The good thing about doing it through ebay is that you can set a reserve price, so you can cover yourself if it doesn't do as well as you hope.
these are fucking gorgeous! i
honestly the quality of these are so amazing and theyre just.. -so- good, i believe theyre worth so much. but i know youre not a super well known artist in comparison to other well known pros, who ask much for their art, so that will drive the price down. and that fucking sucks because you deserve so much more. but i think if i had the funds for it id really pay anything you asked. reasonably so of course. im no help. kind of just here to say theyre gorgeous and you deserve to get their worth. kind of seconding the idea to auction one off, to put your feelers out there for how much people are willing to pay under competition. lala im unhelpful ill scoot off now
Thank you guys, you've been a
I wasn't even thinking about trying to get several hundreds for these. Like, I'd be overly happy to get even 100€ for one of the best ones. : D
I know it's more unlikely to get these sold here than on bigger places such as DA. But somehow it was more natural to come here first, to a community full of people I know and trust. DA is a big and scary place. D;
But maybe that's where I'll be heading after gathering some of my courage. I hope everything will go good and I'll get a good amount for them. Would help me paying some of my debts off. (8
And yes, I know prints sell for whole lot lower than original paintings. Me 'n Nari sold them for 15€ earlier. Maybe I'll dare to ask slightly more for these. Not much but still.
Thank you again, all of ya!
Nari:
If none of these will get sold, I'll give you one for a very friendly and desperate price.-drools over the top four
Aaa, has someone reserved the top one already? That is absolutely stunning piece.
Yeeeeah, I guess you can tell
As for the reservations, none has been made yet. I have no idea what are the final prices going to be, auctioning them sounds like my best bet for getting good prices for them perhaps. But if you're interested in any of these, I'm all ears for your offer. Good offers are always welcome
